The societal interest on a faster transportation demands an increase of the train speed over the current operation speed of 350 km/h. However the dynamic response in the roadbed of concrete track system subjected to the train speed ranging between 300 to 500 km/h has been systematically investigated. Herein a series of the 2-dimensional numerical simulations using various train speeds were performed. A single wheel was modeled by the rigid body. The rail was attached to the sleepers via linear springs in parallel. The results show that the vertical displacement at the rail and track concrete layer exponentially increases when the train speed increases over 400 km/h. This conclusion implies an existence of the critical train velocity at which the displacement of the track system dramatically increases.

The purpose of this study is to investigate .the cytogenetic characteristics of the Turner's syndrome in Korea. For this study selected were eighty-two patients with Turner's syndrome, who were diagnosed by the chromosomal analyses of the cultured peripheral blood lymphocytes, at the Cytogenetic Laboratory, Institute of Reproductive Medicine and Population, College of Medicine, Seoul National University, for the period of 11 years and 6 months from May 1971 through November 1982. Among the 82 patients with Turner's syndrome, 21 (25.6%) had 45,X karyotype, 57 (69.4%) had mosaicism of 45,X/46,XX (39), 45, X/46, XX/47, XXX (9), 45, X/47, XXX (5), 45, X/46, XY (4). Remaining 4 patients had 46, $XX_{p-}$, 46, $XX_{q-}$and 46,X,i($X_q$), respectively.

Persistent atrial standstill is an extremely rare arrhythmia that was first described by Chavez et al. Electrocardiographically, atrial standstill is characterized by bradycardia, the absence of a P wave, and a junctional narrow complex escape rhythm. Atrial standstill is usually classified into two types. The transient type is observed in drug intoxication, such as with digitalis or quinidine, and hyperkalemia. The persistent type is uncommon, often accompanied by syncopal attacks or brain embolism. We report a case of persistent atrial standstill in an 83-year-old man who was treated with implantation of a permanent pacemaker. (Korean J Med 78:109-112, 2010)

Recently, the high power density and efficiency of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) for electric vehicle traction has been attracting attention. Particularly in order to overcome the cost issues of rare-earth dependent on China, Magfine magnet, which consists of neodymium without Dysprosium (Dy) and has enhanced coercive force, has been developed. However, Magfine magnet is vulnerable to irreversible demagnetization by external magnetic field. And it is essential to prevent this phenomenon. This paper suggests a design using the magnetic flux barriers in order to decrease the irreversible demagnetization of the permanent magnet (PM). Also, by using the 2-D finite element analysis (2-D FEA), it was confirmed that the permanent magnet irreversible demagnetization characteristic of the proposed model is improved. Thus, when advancing research in consideration of the Magfine fabrication process, it is expected that the commercialization of Magfine magnet can be accelerated with a more accurate performance prediction.

최근 교육 현장에서의 수학 교육 격차 심화 현상이 점점 심해짐에 따라 인공지능 기술을 활용한 학습자의 지식 상태 분석에 대한 연구에 대한 필요성이 두드러지고 있다. 수학 교육에서 인공지능의 활용은 다른 교과보다 상대적으로 위계성이 강한 교과로 학습자의 수준에 따른 맞춤형 학습이 필요하다. 이에 따라 개인 맞춤형 교육을 위한 지식 상태 점검이 필수적이며, 지식 추적에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 국내에서도 인공지능을 활용한 지식 추적 연구가 활발하게 진행되어야 할 것으로 보인다. 본 논문에서는 AI HUB의 수학 학습자의 학습 이력을 바탕으로 지식 상태 예측을 수행하는 지식 추적 인공지능 모델을 학습하고, 2015 개정 교육과정의 수학 내용을 토대로 구성된 5대 영역을 중심으로 학습자의 지식 상태를 측정하는 실험을 진행하였다.

This paper addressed the issue on the reason why the retaining walls have not been chosen in the railway industry. The residual settlement at the railhead surface during operation is the main issue for track maintenance. Currently, track engineers should decide the necessity of the track maintenance when the residual settlement of the railway exceeds a threshold level of 7㎜. To minimize the residual settlement, an alternative type of the retaining wall including a rigid facing wall was proposed. The dynamic behavior of the retaining wall subjected to the train load was numerically assessed. Based on the numerical results, a possible way to enhance the application of the retaining walJ in the railway industry is suggested.
A Dynamic Modeling of Vertical Rail Deflection in Concrete Slab Track for High Speed Trains

Most of developed and many developing countries in the world are preparing to update their existing lines as well as to create new high speed railway routes. Such high speeds make the response of railway track become dynamic. In this paper, a finite element modeling is attempted to simulate time domain dynamic behavior of the two-dimensional slab track system. A vehicle wheel is simply modeled as a sprung mass with two reference points in which the wheel weight is applied at one end and the equivalent vehicle weight is assigned to the other end. The contact between a reference point and the rail is nonlinearly simulated. The numerically predicted vertical rail displacements show a remarkable influence of train velocity on the concrete track system.
