N/A Radioaerosol lung scan was performed with 99mTc-labelled Tin Colloid and settling bag system. We have experienced typieal imaging of chronic obstructive lung disease which had been demonstrated in many study. Quantitative analysis of aerosol depositiion was measured for effect of airway obstruction. The study was performed in 11 normal controls, 9 smokers, 8 patients with chronic obstructive lung disease and 8 patients with bronchial asthma, Analysis of scan was done by getting Penetration Index and 24hr Retention. Penetration Index was defined as ratio of the aerosol deposition in the peripheral zone to the aerosol deposition in the central zone. There was best correlation between Penetration Index and FEV,. This results indicate that radioaerosol lung scan image of obstructive lung disease was due to high deposition of aerosol in the central large airway, To the 24hr Retention there were significant correlations with FEF26~75 FEF50 which indicating that alveolar penetration of fine particles was also affected by small airway obstruction.
