Background/Aims: Adenosine deaminase (ADA) is a valuable biochemical marker for pericardial effusion (PE) and may be useful for diagnosing tuberculous pericarditis (TPE) in patients with PE. However, no definite cut-off or borderline values for ADA currently exist to distinguish TPE from other PE etiologies. In this study, we identified other useful parameters and characterized their relationship with ADA as a method for diagnosing TPE. Methods: From June 2004 to November 2011, 42 patients underwent pericardiocentesis due to moderate or severe PE, as confirmed by echocardiography or chest computed tomography (CT). Patients were subdivided into TPE and non-TPE (NTPE) groups. We analyzed ADA (p) (the pericardial ADA) and %Lymph (p)/Glucose (p) (the ratio between the percentage of lymphocytes and glucose levels in PE). Results: We defined the cut-off value of ADA (p) as 48.5 IU/L, and that of %Lymph (p)/Glucose (p) as 0.678%·dL/mg. In a multivariate logistic regression analysis, an odds ratio (OR) of 44.24 and a 95% confidence interval (CI) of 2.85-686.97 were observed in patients with an ADA (p) ≥ 48.5 IU/L (p = 0.023). An OR of 20.39 and a 95% CI of 1.06-392.93 were observed in patients with a %Lymph (p)/Glucose (p) ≥ 0.678%·dL/mg (p = 0.046). The combination of ADA (p) and %Lymph (p)/Glucose (p) had a higher positive predictive value (PPV, 80.0%) and specificity (Sp, 93.8%) than either ADA (p) (PPV, 47.4%; Sp, 68.8%) or %Lymph (p)/Glucose (p) (PPV, 69.2%; Sp, 87.5%) alone. Conclusions: %Lymph (p)/Glucose (p) is a useful parameter for distinguishing TPE from other pericardial diseases if combined with an ADA (p) ≥ 48.5 IU/L. (Korean J Med 2012;83:458-467)

현재 국내 댐·저수지는 노후도가 높은 수준으로 노후 필댐에 대한 철저한 유지관리가 필요하다. 해외에서는 전자기장탐사 등 선진기술을 활용하여 댐체 누수탐사를 수행중이나, 국내의 경우 비용절감 및 실무 적용성 향상을 위해 민관공동투자기술개발을 통해 국산화 기술개발을 완료하였다. 개발기술의 Test-bed 적용 결과 합리적 수준의 오차 범위내 비교적 정확한 누수경로 추정이 가능하였으며, 금년도 신뢰성 검증을 위한 추가 실증시험에서 시추조사 결과 및 동일조건의 전기비저항탐사와 비교·검증 결과도 비교적 일치하는 것으로 조사되었다. 향후 본 탐사법에 대한 추가적인 실적 확보 및 이론 검증 등을 통해 노후 필댐에 대한 물리탐사 기술을 지속적으로 향상시킬 계획이다.
대구수성알파시티 자율주행 서비스를 위한 퍼스널 모빌리티 실증 시나리오 개발에 관한 연구

Recently, the trend is changing due to continuous urbanization, expansion of the sharing economy market, and rapid development of advanced ICT. Accordingly, paradigm shifts in transportation services are taking place, and personal mobility(PM) is in the spotlight as the center of these changes. For the autonomous driving service, the PM demonstration scenario is a combination of relevant business types and various kinds of information, and a personalized autonomous driving demonstration considering the characteristics of the user, city, culture, infrastructure, and technical maturity is being conducted. In this paper, we analyzed the section definition and road conditions in Daegu Suseong Alpha-City. For the service scenario study, the main facility and zone characteristics were reflected and the demonstration section was defined by dividing into 4 sections. The PM presented various missions such as lane keeping and changing, passenger boarding, pedestrian recognition and avoidance, stop or moving vehicle recognition and avoidance by recognizing speed limit and important traffic information to drive the demonstration section.

The Courier Logistics Industry is expanding rapidly with the growth of e-commerce, and the competition is intensifying due to the existing logistics companies and newly participating non-logistic companies (distribution and E-commerce). Smart mobilities for courier delivery are Drones, Autonomous Vehicles, and Delivery Robots, and a combination of these services is emerging. In addition, core technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution, such as advanced warehouse management using IoT and AI technologies, and logistics platforms using big data and cloud technologies, are expected to create new services by integrating into the parcelcourier delivery industry. Recently demand for lower prices and labor is growing due to the rapid growth of the parcelcourier delivery industry. This paper will propose the Last Mile Delivery improving method to replace labor and to improve profitability by using the core technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution, and expect the innovation of courier logistics industry through this.

Poncet`s disease is an aseptic polyarthritis developing in the presence of active Tuberculosis occurring elsewhere, and is not due to direct involvement of joints but to an immunological reaction to tuberculoprotein. We experienced a case of Poncet`s disease accompanying erythema nodosum in a 55-year-old female patient with pulmonary tuberculosis. She had multiple tender erythematous nodules on both lower limbs for 3 months and a cough and sputum from one month ago. She felt severe pain in both knees and ankles with swelling one week before admission. Her chest X-ray, computed tomography (CT) scan and positive sputum AFB stain results revealed that she had active pulmonary tuberculosis accompanying erythema nodosum and aseptic polyarthritis. Her arthritis and erythema nodosum were dramatically improved within four weeks after anti-tuberculosis therapy. We report a case of Poncet`s disease in pulmonary tuberculosis accompanying erythema nodosum.

The study was performed to find out how depression and anxiety can be shared and differentiated according to the age and sex in children and adolescents. Eight hundred eighty children and adolescents in 3 different age groups(elementary, middle, high) were assessed using the Korean version of the State-Trait Anxiety Inventroy for Children(STAIC) and Korean version of the Kovacs' Children's Depression Inventory(CDI). The results were as follows: 1) The mean scores of STAIC-T(trait) were significantly increased with increasing age(p<0.01). Femal group had significantly higher scores than the male group in high school(p<0.01). 2) The mean scores of STAIC-S(state) were significantly increased with increasing age(p<0.01). Male group scores were significantly higher than those of female group in middle school(p<0.01). Female group scores were significantly higher than those of male group in high school(p<0.05). 3) The mean scores of CDI were significantly increased with increasing age(p<0.01). Female group scores were significantly higher than those of male group(p<0.05). 4) Trait anxiety-depression correlation coefficiency(r=0.61-0.63) was higher than State anxiety-depression correlation coefficiency(r=0.50-0.54), Trait anxiety-depression correlation was higher than State anxiety-depression correlation. 5) Multiple regression to depression(R²) was abruptly decreased from 50% to 32% in trait anxiety elucidating depression and from 55% to 43% in state anxiety elucidating depression. From the above results, the another suggest that anxiety-depression was markedly differentiated according at the age of high school students in female group.
주요우울장애 환자에서 혈장 세로토닌치 변화와 임상호전도와의 관계

The purpose of this study was to compare plasma serotonin(5-HT) level in patients with major depressive disorder with in healthy normal control and investigate relationship between changes of plasma serotonin(5-HT) level and clinical improvement in patients with major depressive disorder. The subjects were thirty hospitalized patients with major depressive disorder who met DSM-Ⅳ(VPA 1994) diagnostic criteria and thirty healthy normal controls. Clinical evaluation with Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HDRS) was done on admission and after 3 weeks of admission while the plasma serotonin(5-HT) level was checked at baseline, end of the 3rd weeks of treatment respectively. The results were as follows : 1) There was no significant sex differences in plasma 5-HT level in both patient and control group. 2) In the plasma 5-HT level, the mean was 0.016±01012 in the patient of major depressive disorder and 0.104±0.059 in the control group, showing significant differences. 3) There was significant differences between plasma 5-HT level in the patients group of major depressive disorder in pretreatment and after 3 weeks of treatment. 4) There was significant differences between plasma 5-HT level in the patients group of major depressive disorder after 3 weeks of treatment and control group. 5) Relationship between plasma 5-HT changes and clinical improvement during 3 weeks of treatment was significantly correlated. In summary, the present study was found significant differences in patients with major depressive disorder as compared with control group. And our results suggest that relationship between the changes of plasma 5-HT level and clinical improvement was significantly correlated in patients with major depressive disorder. Further studies are required to clarify the relationship between biochemical changes and clinical improvement.
물-공기 계면에서 긴 사슬 양 말단 작용기 분자인 α,ω-13,16-Dimethyloctacosanedioate Dimethylester(C_30DME)의 거동에 관한 연구

물-공기 계면에서 표면압력의 증가에 따른 C30DME 분자의 구조 변화를 살펴보았다. 표면압력(π)-표면적(A) 등온선을 통해 표면적이 줄어들 때 C30DME 분자가 선형으로부터 역 U 자형 구조로 변하는 것을 확인하였다. C30DME의 역 U 자형 구조의 형성을 확인하기 위하여 Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR)와 ellipsometry를 이용하여 Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) film 의 두께를 측정하였고 이 두께는 C30DME 분자의 역 U 자형 구조의 높이와 일치함을 관찰하였다. 또한 Atomic Force Microscope (AFM)을 이용한 표면 거침도 측정의 결과는 선형으로부터 역 U자형 구조로의 구조적 변화가 불연속이라는 것을 보여주었다. We investigated the conformational change of C30DME molecule with an increase on surface pressure at the air-water interface. The surface pressure (π)-area (A) isotherm indicates that the structure of C30DME changed from linear to reverse U-shape as the surface area was compressed. In order to confirm the formation of reverse U-shape, we examined the thickness of Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) film by a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and an ellipsometry. The result of surface roughness measurement using an atomic force microscope (AFM) showed that the conformational change from linear to reverse U-shape is discontinuous.
