        The purpose of this study was to introduce all kinds of early childhood English teaching approaches, techniques, procedures, and methods. Young children bring with them an already well-established set of instincts, skills and characteristics which will help them to learn another foreign language based on the individual differences. Language teaching should be concerned with authentic life. The methods were designed to increase competence for natural communication in English, to strengthen children's English language proficiency. to increase self-confidence in using English, and to prepare children for participation in the global community. Therefore, the present study looks at how theories have been realised in methodological practice. The present study talked about approaches, methods, techniques, procedures and models, all of which go into the practice of childhood English teaching.

        Evaluation of Shopping Items: Focused on Purchase of Foreign Tourists in South Korea

        Purpose - In this work, we categorize the 21 shopping items which foreign tourists purchase in South Korea and monitor the level of dissimilarity (or similarity) between each item by utilizing distance matrix, and both hierarchical and k-means cluster analyses, respectively, based on the eight purpose of visit attributes (Leisure & Vacation, Health & Treatment, Religion & Pilgrimage, Shopping, Visit, Business, Education, ETS) in 2017. In addition, multidimensional scaling (MDS) method may come by visual display for mining appearance of proximities among twenty one shopping items based on eight attributes of purpose of visit. Research design, data, and methodology - This study is carried out in 2017 by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and conduct a face-to-face survey of foreign tourists from 20 countries who purchase shopping items in South Korea. CLUSTER, PROXIMITIES and ALSCAL modules in IBM SPSS 23.0 are used to perform this work. Results - We ascertain that twenty one shopping items can be classified into five similar groups (clusters) which have homogeneous traits by going through two-step cluster analysis. We can position homogeneous places of cluster and twenty one shopping items joining each cluster. Conclusions - We can relatively assess patterns and characteristics of each shopping item, come by useful information in activating shopping tour based on the actual state of recognition of foreign tourists and practically apply to each tourism industry on underlying results.

        단기수요예측 분석방법론- ARIMA모형 -

        In this study, ARIMA model is introduced, which is one of the widely used short-term demand forecasting methods and empirical strategies which can be applied to the real fields are focused. We can easily and simply explain and/or diagnose the mechanism of process and furthermore obtain the important information to make decisions by applying these 31 strategies. 본 논문에서는 단기 수요예측방법으로 ARIMA모형을 소개하며, 실전에서 이 모형을 설정하기 위해서 필요한 경험적인 전략에 초점을 두었다. 이 실전전략을 통해 프로세서 내에 복잡하게 얽혀있는 메커니즘을 단순용이하게 설명 및 규명할 수 있으며, 더 나아가 기업의 판매계획, 생산계획, 인사계획, 재무계획 등에 필요한 의사결정을 하는데 도움이 될 수 있다.

        영어수업에서 미국문화 교육에 대한대학생들의 인식과 한미 문화인식에 미친 영향

        The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of culture teaching in college English classes. The research questions for this study were set up as follows: First, how about the students’ perception of culture teaching in their English classes? Second, what effect does culture teaching have on their cultural awareness? Data was collected from 75 Korean college students enrolled in an Audio-Visual English class, and a questionnaire was used as the tool for the study. The results showed that students’ perceptions on culture teaching were very positive so they had more interest in English and realized learning American culture is important in learning English. They also showed teaching American culture in English classes did not cause the inter-cultural barrier, and it didn’t raise an awareness of natal culture, either. This study concerned culture teaching in English class could provide not only English skills but cultural knowledge for the students. From this concern and the results, the study suggests the importance of culture teaching in college English classes should be emphasized, and this could make the students more competitive international people in the global context.

        The purpose of the present study was to develop a model of English writing for Korea college students. A key to good writing is to possess or develop sentence sense. Sentence sense is the awreness of what makes a sentence-the ability to recognize its grammatical essentials and understand the relationships between its parts. A fragment is a nosentence. The best way to avoid fragments is to recognize the structural differences between sentences and nonsentences. Especial1y when writing you should strive to choose words which express your ideas and feelings exactly.The choice of a right word will depend on your purpose, your point of view, and your reader. Unity, coherence, emphasis, variety-these are fundamental qualities of effective writing. Parallel(grammatical equal) sentence elements reguarly appear in lists, series, and compound structures. Abrupt, unnecessary shifts-for example, from past to present, from singular to plural, from formal diction to slang, from one perspective to another-tend to obscure a writer's meaning and thus to cause needless diffculty in reading. Conclusively writing like speaking essentially communication. It enables Korean college students to assemble sentences in a correlated pattern for the purpose of exressing their individuality.

      • 어린이의 어휘 습득에 관한 고찰

        The purpose of this study was to examine psycholinguistas' views regarding the word acquisition in children's verbal communication, forcusing on the English language acquisition. The child's acquisition of word formation is the mastering of meanings in a language. Chilldren acquire the meanings of free morphemes, typically understood as independent items in a word, and bound morphemes, which consist mainly of inflectional affixes. The acquisition of first word by the child is around twelve months usually refers to his mother or father. First words usually involve duplication of a consonant-plus-vowel syllable, such as "mama. dada, tata, papa, etc." Infants have many meanings for a word. Children acquire the negative word, "no" first, and then master the positive word,"yes". The word meanings of children change as children develop. Children's word meaning become independent on the specific situation at hand. Children master how to usa a word to express their needs and feelings such as to declare, to question, and to exclaim. Berko(1958) proposed four stages in the child's acquisition of meanings for compound words such as identity, salient feature or function, word-related salient feature, and etymological stages. Bound morphemes begin to emerge in 5 years. The plural and possessive allomorphs and the present progressive verb suffixes are acquired first. The more difficult tense suffixes such as the irregular past and the future, take more time to master. Adjective forms and to other bond morphemes begin to emerge in the child's early elementary years.

        A Study on the Relationship between Purchasing Media and Demographic Factors in Home Shopping

        Purpose – The goal of this study is to extensively grasp the latest status of domestic home shopping and to propose useful information on the direction of development for the somewhat stagnant this market. This study investigates the relationship between purchasing media and demographic factors such as average monthly income, age and occupation. Categories of purchasing media under consideration are cell phones, tablet PCs, PCs/notebooks, phone calls and TV directly. Research design, data, and methodology –The survey was conducted in 2021 on a total of 4,537 integrated panel households including 3,510 households and 191,027 newly constructed in 2019 and about 10,800 household members aged 6 years or older in the household. The independence test and correspondence analysis as statistical tools are exploited to detect the relationship between the underlying factors. Result – It can be demonstrated that all demographic variables considered are related to the purchase media of home shopping. In particular, cell phones among purchasing media are closely associated with 2 million - 5 million won, teenagers, 20s, 40s, professionals, office workers, managers and soldiers. Conclusion – It is necessary to establish a new management strategy and related policies in order to overcome the current stagnation and ensure the continued growth of this industry.

        대학생들의 문자채팅을 활용한 읽기 전 활동이 영어 읽기 성취도에 미치는 효과

        The purpose of this study was to examine whether the pre-reading discussions that employed text-based chatting would positively affect the reading achievement by college students. For this purpose, this study investigated the effects of text-based chatting relative to those of oral discussions on students’ reading achievement. In addition, topic interest and reading proficiency levels were treated as variables affecting reading achievement. This study further examined the effects of text-based chatting and oral discussions on the reading achievement of global questions. Participants were administered a pretest to diagnose their reading proficiencies and a survey was conducted to identify the learners’ topic interest. The students’ progress was assessed on the basis of their midterm and final exams. The results of the study indicated the following: Pre-reading discussion employing text-based chatting significantly contributed to the reading achievement as compared to oral discussions. However, neither the topic interest nor reading proficiency level resulted in any significant difference in the reading achievement. Similarly, the effects of text-based chatting on the reading achievement of global questions were significantly higher than those of oral discussions. However, the effects of the topic interest on achievement were more salient. Text-based chatting for high interest topics was significantly more effective than oral discussions. No effects of the reading proficiency level were observed.
