        Canine model of ischemic stroke with permanent middle cerebral artery occlusion: clinical features, magnetic resonance imaging, histopathology, and immunohistochemistry

        The purpose of this study was to identify time-related changes in clinical, MRI, histopathologic, and immunohistochemical findings associatedwith ischemic stroke in dogs. Additionally, the association of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and tissue levels of interleukin (IL)-6 with clinicalprognosis was assessed. Ischemic stroke was induced by permanent middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) in nine healthy experimentaldogs. The dogs were divided into three groups according to survival time and duration of the experimental period: group A (survived only1 day), group B (1-week experimental period), and group C (2-week experimental period). Neurologic status was evaluated daily. Magneticresonance imaging (MRI) was performed according to a predetermined schedule. Concentration of IL-6 in CSF was measured serially afterischemic stroke. Postmortem examination was performed for all experimental dogs. During histopathological examination, variable degreesof cavitation and necrosis due to neuronal cytopathic effects, such as pyknotic nuclei and cytoplasmic shrinkage, were observed on the affectedside of the cerebral cortex in all dogs. Immunohistochemistry specific for IL-6 showed increased expression in the ischemic lesions. CSF IL-6concentrations and ischemic lesion volumes 1 day after ischemic stroke were significantly higher in group A compared to groups B and C.

        『조선왕조실록』에 나타난 간의대의 기록들과 천문학적 연관성

        We report the results of our study for ascertaining whether Ganui-dae built in the Josen Dynasty actually performed an astronomical role or not. The Ganui-dae was the first astronomical structure built as a part of the state astronomical undertakings by King Se-Jong. Our analysis was based on the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty. At first we extracted the records regarding Ganui-dae from the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty and then classified them under six heads according to their astronomical meaning and historical significance. From this analysis we found that the Ganui-dae performed the actual astronomical role. In addition, the provisional offices and peoples mentioned in the records show the astronomical correlation. Generally, when taking into account the functional side of the records, the Ganui-dae was related with the observation. Therefore, the Ganui-dae was the space for the astronomical activity. In conclusion, the Ganui-dae was built for the purpose of the astronomical activity.

        필드하키선수와 축구선수의 동적균형능력과 전신 근기능 특성 비교연구

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare and analyze the dynamic balance ability and whole bodymuscle function of field hockey players. Methods: The subjects consisted of 12 university soccer players and eight field hockey players. The anterior,posteromedial, and posterolateral reach directions dynamic balance ability of both feet for the two groupswere determined using the Y-balance test kit. Each hand-push, each hand-pull, upper body-push, upperbody-pull, trunk rotation, lower body-push, and lower body-pull were measured for the two groups, usingthe smart muscle testing device. Results: For the Y-balance test, soccer players scored significantly higher than field hockey players forleft-posterolateral (p=0.024). Whole-body muscle function measures showed that field hockey players scoredsignificantly higher than soccer players for the right hand-push (p=0.002) and left hand-push (p=0.035). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that soccer players frequently shoot and dribble with their leftleg as a stepping foot, and the dynamic balance ability of the left-posterolateral is dominant due to theactivation of the tibialis anterior muscle used in the stepping foot. In addition, in the case of field hockey,due to the use of a hockey stick, , the muscle strength of the right hand-push and left hand-push is dominantdue to the adaptation of the muscles to the pushing force of the upper body, which is mainly used inmovements such as dribbling, passing, and shooting.

        샹탈 애커만의 <잔느 딜망>을 중심으로 살펴본 슬로우 시네마의 논점들

        Chantal Akerman's "Jeanne Dielman," released in 1975, is a quintessential example of slow cinema, characterized by its slow pacing, extended durations, and a decentered temporality. It overturned the traditional narrative plot structure of films and enabled a transition into a counter-narrative bodily cinema. Influenced by the 1960s American avant-garde film movement and incorporating formal strategies from directors such as Andy Warhol and Michael Snow, Akerman created a unique film that integrated her personal experiences within the structural rules of cinema. The narrative progression borrowed from structural cinema in Akerman's work is the "repetition, anticipation, contrast, and overall rhythm" that fractures the monotonous repetition of everyday life, creating unexpected ruptures. The provocation of unforeseen events emerging from monotonous repetition is the source of narrative tension in "Jeanne Dielman," as it presents the tactile materiality of time within the film. The everyday gestures captured in real-time by the film break down the boundaries between what is reproduced by the film and what is presented before the camera, resulting in a discordant and am- biguous narrative. The fixed camera presenting gestures and objects, the flowing time itself, all be- come a construction of a non-causal, democratic coexistence of time and a decentered temporality within an extended duration. This study aims to examine the temporal significance of "Jeanne Dielman" and discuss the issues raised by slow cinema within its cinematic, social, and political con- texts, presenting them as a single question.

        제지슬러지소각재 및 킬레이트제 활용 간접탄산화 방법을 통한 이산화탄소 저장 및 탄산칼슘 생성

        In this study, we conducted experiments to store $CO_2$ and produce $CaCO_3$ through indirect carbonation using paper sludge ash (PSA) and three chelating reagents (fumarate, IDA and EDTA). Fumarate and IDA used as solvents could facilitate the indirect carbonation reaction to store more $CO_2$ than water. When 0.1 M fumarate and IDA were used, $CO_2$ storage was 63 and $89kg-CO_2/ton-PSA$, respectively, and $CaCO_3$ yield was 144 and $202kg-CaCO_3/ton-PSA$. For the case of EDTA, however, the carbonation was hardly progressed. As either the concentration or Ca-ligand stabilization constant of each chelating reagent increased, the calcium extraction efficiency from PSA increased. In addition, the carbonation efficiency was influenced by the Ca-ligand stabilization constant. As the Ca-ligand stabilization constant increased, more calcium could be extracted from the PSA. With the constant larger than that of $CaCO_3$ ($10^{8.35}$), however, the carbonation reaction was not proceeded.

        Analysis of Papers Published in the Journal of Astronomy and Space Sciences from 1984 to 2018

        This paper presents at the characteristics of publications in the Journal of Astronomy and Space Sciences from 1984 to 2018. Since its first publication, a total of 1,113 papers (~35 volumes) have been published up to December 2018. While the space astronomy field has made up a large portion of the total number of papers, the number of annually published papers in this field is decreasing. In contrast, the number of papers in the space environment field has been showing an increasing trend since 2013, accounting for more than 30% of the annual publications. The participation rate of foreign researchers has been maintained at greater than 20% since 2012. Despite the decrease in the number of paper per year, there are positive developments including sustained foreign researcher participation at greater than 20% and improvements in the impact factor. We believe that JASS has the potential to enter the distinguished level of international academic journals following a well developed future road map.

        수소 취성 시험 평가를 위한 수소 방출 방지용 비수계 아연( Zn) 도금

        Zinc is emerging as a environment-friendly plating material to replace cadmium, which is harm- ful to the human body, to prevent hydrogen gas penetration or release from metal materials. Electroplating of Zn and Zn alloys, which is usually performed in an aqueous acidic atmosphere, has disadvantages such as low coulombic efficiency, corrosion, and hydrogen release, resulting in industrial use difficult. In this study, a deep-eutectic solvent was synthesized using choline chloride and ethylene glycol. Using this as a solvent, an electrolyte for Zn plating was prepared, and then zinc was plated on the STS 304 substrate. The surface microstructure and roughness were observed using SEM and AFM. The crystal structure of the elec- tro-plated film was analyzed using XRD. Finally, the preventing effects of hydrogen release through Zn-based deep-eutectic plating on the STS 305 substrate were compared with the uncoated substrate. 아연은 인체에 유해한 카드뮴을 대체하여 금속재료에 수소가스가 침투하거나 금속재료 내부로부터 수소가 누출되는 것을 방지하기 위한 친환경 코팅 재료로 주목받고 있다. 일반적으로 수성 및 산성 분위기에서 수행 되는 아연(Zn) 및 아연 합금의 전기도금은 낮은 쿨롱 효율, 부식 및 수소 누출과 같은 단점이 있어 산업적 이용이 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 염화콜린과 에틸렌글리콜을 이용하여 Deep-eutectic solvent를 합성하고 이를 용매로 사용하 여 아연 도금용 전해질을 제조하여 STS 304 기판 위에 전기 도금하였다. 주사전자현미경(SEM)과 원자힘현미 경(AFM)을 이용하여 표면 미세구조와 조도를 관찰하였다. X선회절분석(XRD)을 이용하여 도금 막의 결정구 조를 분석하였다. 마지막으로 수소를 주입한 STS 304 기판에 최적화된 Zn 도금액을 코팅한 시료의 수소 방출 방지 효과를 분석하였다.

        SiC 하이브리드 모듈을 적용한 근거리용 7kW Inverter 동작 안정성에 대한 연구

        This paper is concerned with the operating stability of 7kW inverter using SIC hybrid module and verifies the validity of the simulation results by comparing the result of the loss equation and the simulation result, Simulation results using Si module and SiC hybrid module are compared to compare switch loss and diode loss. Through the loss equation calculation, the conduction loss of SiC Hybrid module is 168W, switching loss is 9.3W, diode loss is 10.5nW, When compared with the simulation results, similar values were shown. As a result of comparing the simulation results of the Si module and the SiC Hybrid module, The total device loss of the Si module was 246.2W, and the total device loss of the SiC Hybrid module was 189.9W. The loss difference was 56.3W, which was about 0.8W. thereby verifying the reverse recovery characteristics of the SiC SBD. In addition, temperature saturation test was conducted to confirm the stability of SiC Hybrid module and Si module under high temperature saturation, In the case of the Si module, the output power was stopped at 4kW, and the SiC Hybrid module was confirmed to operate at 7kW. Based on this, an efficiency graph and a temperature graph are presented, and the Si module is graphed up to 4kW and the SiC Hybrid module is graphed up to 7kW. 본 논문은 SiC Hybrid module를 적용한 7kW 인버터의 동작 안정성에 관한 것으로 손실 방정식과 시뮬레이션 결과를 비교하여 시뮬레이션 결과의 유효성을 검증하였으며, 시뮬레이션을 통해 Si module과 SiC Hybrid module의 스위치 손실과 다이오드 손실을 비교하였다. 손실 방정식 계산을 통하여 SiC Hybrid module의 도통 손실은 168W, 스위칭 손실은 9.3W, 다이오드 손실은 10.5nW의 결과를 나타내었으며, 시뮬레이션 결과와 비교하였을 때 유사한 값을 나타내었다. 이를 바탕으로 Si module과 SiC Hybrid module의 시뮬레이션 결과 값 비교 결과, Si module의 총 소자 손실 값은 246.2W, SiC Hybrid module의 총 소자 손실 값은 189.9W를 나타내었으며, 손실 차이 값은 56.3W로써 약 0.8W의 효율 차이를 보였다. 이로 인하여 SiC SBD의 Reverse recovery 특성을 검증하였다. 또한 고온 포화상태에서 SiC Hybrid module 및 Si module의 안정성을 확인하기 위하여 온도 포화 테스트를 진행하였으며, Si module의 경우, 출력전력 4kW에서 동작을 멈추었고, SiC Hybrid module은 7kW까지 동작을 확인하였다. 이를 바탕으로, 효율 그래프와 온도 그래프를 제시하였으며, Si module은 4kW까지, SiC Hybrid module은 7kW까지 그래프로 나타내었다.

        천문학 논총에 게재된 논문(1984-2021)의 분석

        In this study, we collected articles published in the Publication of the Korean Astronomical Society (PKAS) from 1984 to 2021, and performed quantitative analyses of their various aspects. PKAS is the journal where authors can publish research papers in Korean as well as English. It seems to have an advantage of the better accessibility to all people than other astronomy journals in English only. From 1984 to 2000, the number of articles published in PKAS has been steadily increased. From 2000, the number of published articles showed a tendency to decrease slightly every year. After 2010, the number of articles in PKAS has shown a sharp decline until now. Interestingly, in this period it is found that the topics published articles became various, in particular, many articles concerning historical astronomy began to be published. PKAS was selected as an accredited journal in 2018. This is a very positive situation, and we think the future direction of PKAS is encouraging. Considering these circumstances, the PKAS is suggested to reflect ideas of "interdisciplinary fusion" and "diversity" in publishing articles in the journal for its promising future.
