        The existing course of physical education in primary schools, being not practiced normally the function of children` instrumental exercise slumps and the aim of study of physical education is hardly achieved. The basic physical strength of children is enhanced, but many a child in poor progress of exercise is increasing. The purpose of this study to grope for ways to solve these problems and the result of them was concluded as follows: Firstly, the writer has approached perfect study and obtained excellent results in the guidance of children in poor progress of physical exercise by individual training according to ability in instrumental exercise and group guidance. Secondly, the writer has found that the selection-guidance of leader is in excellent results, and that the interest of instrumental exercise culminating, its function has increased rapidly. The basic physical strength of both boys and girls in 100m Running and Running long Lump has been enhanced remarkably. Thirdly, The relaton between the function of mechanical exercse and I. Q has turned out to be clear. And there is a little relation between the function of instrumental exercise and a series of physical strength, but the relation among them turns out to be superficial. The relation among the function of mechanical exercise and perfect indices of body proves to be little. Fouthly, Many a child in poor progress who is defect in character and inadaptable to the studying circumstances can be relieved, but it is difficult to relieve other factors.

        황기의 다당체가 큰포식세포로부터 일산화질소 생성유도

        Astragalus membranaceus is used as a natural herbal medicine in East Asia for preventing carcinogenesis and reducing side effects induced by chemotherapy in cancer patients. Although the mechanism of anti-tumor activity is not known, the polysaccharides may potentiate the host defense mechanism through the activation of immune system. The objective of this study is to investigate the mechanism by which APS activates macrophages. To analyze macrophage activation and iNOS gene expression, we performed nitrite generation assay, immunohistochemistry, and RT-PCR. In the present study we show that a polysaccharide isolated from the Astragalus membranaceus (Astragalus Polysaccharide, APS) significantly induces nitric oxide (NO). Immunohistochemical staining of inducible NO synthase (iNOS) showed that the increase of NO was due to the induction of iNOS production. To further study the mechanism responsible for the induction of iNOS, we investigated the effect of APS on the iNOS mRNA expression. RT-PCR analysis showed that APS produced significant induction of iNOS gene expression. In conclusion, we demonstrate that a polysaccharide isolated from Astragalus membranaceus stimulates macrophages to generate NO through the activation of iNOS gene expression. 황기 (Astragalus membranaceus)는 국내에서 오래 전부터 광범위하게 사용되는 식물 중의 하나로서 항암활성과 항암치료과정에서 발생하는 부작용을 완화시키는 작용이 보고되었다. 지금까지의 연구 결과 황기의 여러성분들, 특히 다당체가 면역증강활성을 나타냄이 알려져 있으나 그 작용기전에 대해서는 잘 알려져 있지 않다. 본 실험에서는 황기에서 추출한 다당체가 큰포식세포를 활성화시키는 기전을 밝혀내기 위하여 iNOS를 이용한 큰포식세포 면역형광염색을, iNOS mRNA의 변화를 보기 위한 RT-PCR을 실시하였다. 황기에서 추출한 다당체를 마우스 큰포식세포주인 RAW 264.7 세포에 24시간 처리한 결과, 용량의존적으로 NO 생성을 증가시켰다. iNOS에 면역형광염색을 실시한 결과, 세포질에서 소량 발현되던 iNOS 단백질이 APS를 처리한 후에는 다량 발현됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한 RT-PCR을 실시한 결과 APS를 처리한 RAW264.7세포에서 iNOS mRNA의 생성이 용량의존적으로 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 결론적으로, 황기에서 분리한 다당체의 작용은 iNOS 유전자의 발현을 통하여 일산화질소의 생성을 증가시키며, 이러한 큰포식세포의 활성화가 항암활성과 관련이 있는 것으로 사료된다.

        한국의 일반 흉부수술 현황

        Overall 25,095 cases of general thoracic surgery were analysed, which were performed by 48 institutes in Korea during recent 6 years[242 hospital-years]. The proportions of tumorous disease and infectious disease to be operated were 6,864 cases[27.4%] and 6,775 cases [27.0%], The most common organ involved for operation was lung-bronchus 16,542 cases [69.5%], and remainders were pleura 2,500 [10.0%], esophagus 2,433[9.7%], mediastinum 1,902[7.6%], chest wall 1,297 [5.2%], and diaphragm 421 [1.7%] in order. Among 6,864 cases of tumorous diseases, the most common causes for operation were lung-bronchus tumor 3132 cases [45.6%] and most of them were lung cancer 2,731 cases [88.7%]. In the 2,019 cases of primary lung cancer with known cell type, squamous cell carcinoma 1,296 cases [64.2%] and adenocarcinoma 460 cases [22.8%] were the most. The common types in the 1,207 cases of mediastinal tumor with known cell type were neurogenic tumor 348 cases [28.8%], thymoma 311 [25.8%], and teratoma 252[20.9%]. The annual cases of operation for tumorous disease including malignant tumor were increased steadily. Operation for infectious lung diseases [including bronchiectasis and tuberculosis] were about twice common than infectious pleural disease [i.e. empyema], and operations for tuberculous disease occupied about half cases of infectious lung disease. In 11,456 cases of other disease entities, excluding tumorous and infectious disease, there were bullous lung disease 9,074 cases[79.2%], benign esophageal disease 484[4.2%], myasthenia gravis 356[3.1%], chest wall deformity 483[4.2%], and diaphragmatic lesion 421[3. 7%] in order. We propose that above results for inquiry can be used as the basic data of general thoracic surgery in Korea.

        Taguchi 방법을 사용한 콘택 산호막 식각 공정 최적화 연구

        Process optimization experiments based on the Taguchi method were performed in order to set up the optimal process conditions for the contact oxide etching process module which was built in order to be attached to the cluster system of multi-processing purpose. From the two times experiments of Taguchi method, the overall behaviors of the etchmg characteristics depending upon the equipment parameters were understood at the 1st Taguchi experiment, the detail and optimal process conditions were extracted from the 2nd Taguchi experiment. As a final analysis of experimental results, the optimal etching characteristics were obtalned at the process conditions of $CHF_{3}/CF_{4}$ gas flow rate=72/8 sccm, chamber pressure=50 mTorr, RF power=300 Watts, magnetic field intensity=90 Gauss.

        Esophageal achalasia is a disease with characteristic disorder of esophageal motility. Also, this disorder is known to be predisposing factor of malignancy. Although the incidence of esophageal cancer in patients with achalasia varies widely, the incidence hed been reported from l% to 29% in many articles. It is known that delay in management of achalasia is believed to increase the risk of malignant degeneration. We experience a case with esophageal cancer complicating longstanding esophageal achalasia.

      • 실존철학이 체육에 미치는 영향

        교육학은 인간학으로부터 시작되었다. 그러나 교육학은 과학화를 표방하여 자연과학을 모델로 발전하면서 인간의 자유, 결단성 등 인간의 특성을 배제하여 인간부재의 학문으로 변질되어 갔다. 실존철학은 교육학을 인간성 지향의 학문으로 발전되도록 공헌하였다. 인간의 움직임을 연구하는 학문으로서의 체육학은 과학적·양적 우상주의에 의거하여 스포츠 생활에서 인간의 움직임에 내재된 법칙을 발견하는데 주요 목표를 두고 있다. 이러한 목표를 위하여 그들은 자료의 수량화, 객관화, 정확한 측정, 수학적 표현 및 통계적 자료 처리에 높은 가치를 부여하고 있다. 그러나 인간 움직임의 다양하고 독특한 속성들은 자연과학의 연구대상인 자연현상과는 근본적으로 다르기 때문에, 결코 수량적으로 완벽히 측정될 수 없고 실험적으로도 전부 통제될 수 없다. 인간의 움직임 기저에 존재하는 의식과 사고는 상황에 따라 능동적이며 상호 호혜적인 관계로 얽혀져 있기 때문이다. 이와 같은 상황에서 실존철학이 체육에 미치는 영향은 인간의 움직임을 기능적으로나 과학적으로 연구하는 것보다 그 움직임을 통해 자아의식의 발견, 자기표현 및 실현에 중요성을 부여했다는 점에서 가치가 있는 것이다.

        단기간의 심근허혈이 심근보호에 미치는 영향 -적출 쥐 심장의 연구-

        Ischemic preconditioning is known to have protective effect on myocardial function at prolonged ischemic insult but the mechanism of the effect is not clearly known. The effect of the preconditioning on the global ischemia using cardioplegic solution is not well known. To evaluate the effect of global myocardial preconditioning on the functional recovery after cardioplegic arrest and two hours of hypothermic storage, we used the isolated rat heart and two hours cardioplegic arrest time at $0^{\circ}C$. In the experimental group(n=10), after baseline functional data was obtained, ischemic preconditioning was induced with 1 min of global normothermic ischemia for three times before the arrest period. In the control group(n=10), hearts underwent no ischemic precondi- tioning. After 2 hrs of cardioplegic arrest and storage in the $0^{\circ}C$ cardioplegic solution reperfusion was done and hemodynamic data were collected at post-reperfusion 20 min. Heart with ischemic preconditioning showed improved functional recovery at post reperfusion 20 min in peak developed pressure and dP/dT. In percent change of the peak pressure, preconditioning group showed 93.20$\pm$15.7% recovery rate compared to baseline data, and control group showed 67.3$\pm$15.6% recovery rate. In percent change of the dP/dT, control group showed 54.7$\pm$18.2% recovery rate and preconditioning group showed 78.1$\pm$15.1% recovery rate. Percent changes in heart rate and coronary flow showed no significant difference between two groups and there was no significant differences in amount of cardioplegic delivery between groups. Our data suggest ischemic preconditioning may have protective effect on recovery state after cardioplegic arrest and 2 hr ischemic storage of isolated rat heart and its mechanism is not related to the amount of the cardioplegic delivery amount.
