        Bilateral chylothorax as a complication of modified radical neck dissection is extremely rare, but it is potentially serious and sometimes fatal. Early diagnosis and proper management is very important. We report here on a case of bilateral chylothorax following left modified radical neck dissection that was successfully treated with conservative management. (Korean J Endocrine Surg 2006;6:32-34)

        수술자가 시행하는 수술 전 갑상선 초음파 검사의 유용성

        <B>Purpose: </B>Although the diagnostic accuracy of thyroid cancer by fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) is increasing, there are some nodules for which ultrasonography and FNAC show indeterminant. The purpose of this study was to determine the usefulness of thyroid ultrasonography by the surgeon prior to operation <B>Methods:</B> Forty-nine patients who underwent thyroid operations between June 2006 and January 2007 were selected for this study. Thyroid ultrasonography was performed on each patient.And we recorded and analyzed the shape and the margin of the nodule, internal echogeneiety, heterogeneiety, the presence of microcalcification, height versus width, and the presence of level VI lymph node larger than 3 mm, assigning each a score of 1, 2 or 3. <B>Results: </B>The average score was 17.1. Assuming an average score over 14 is considered to be malignant, the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value were 95.6%, 88.9%, 91.7%, 94.1% respec</B>tively. Statistically significant characteristics of malignancy were the shape and the margin of the nodule, internal echogeneiety, microcalcification, taller than wide shape and the presence of enlarged VI lymph nodes. The heterogeneiety had no significant P value. <B>Conclusion: </B>When malignancy cannot be confirmed even after repeated FNAC, preoperative ultrasonograpy performed by surgeons can be a reliable test and helpful for operations. <B>(Ko</B><B>rean J Endocrine Surg 2008;8:28-32)</B>

        표적탐지성능을 이용한 다중상태 소나의 효과도 분석

        This paper is to analyze the effectiveness of multistatic sonar network based on detection performance. The multistatic sonar network is a distributed detection system that places a source and multi-receivers apart. So it needs a detection technique that relates to decision rule and optimization of sonar system to improve the detection performance. For this we propose a data fusion procedure using Bayesian decision and optimal sensor arrangement by optimizing a bistatic sonar. Also, to analyze the detection performance effectively, we propose the environmental model that simulates a propagation loss and target strength suitable for multistatic sonar networks in real surroundings. The effectiveness analysis on the multistatic sonar network confirms itself as a promising tool for effective allocation of detection resources in multistatic sonar system.

        종토접종이 대두 근류 형성과 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향

        The crop rotation is very important in the organic agriculture and the soybean crop should be included in the rotation. Even though the inoculation of the root can be performed by the soil inoculation in the soybean crop, the effect of the soil inoculation should be proved in the organic soil. For the research of the effects in the formation of the nodule of soybeans, the growth and the quantity through the inoculation into the soil, the field experiment was conducted in 2006 at Ipjang Experimental Farm of Dankook University. The number of nodule in the testing varieties of the inoculated soil plot was 1.4~2 times larger than those in the non-inoculated soil plot. The number of nodule was decreased in the non-inoculated soil plot after R2 stage, but it was increased in the inoculated before R4 stage and it was decreased after then. The periodical change of weight of the nodule was shown as same as the number of nodule. The dry weight of inoculated was increased than non-inoculated in Daewonkong, but it was decreased than non-inoculated in Shinpaldalkong2 and SS2-2. The amount of chlorophyll of the inoculated soil plot was more than the non-inoculated soil plot by 9% in Daewonkong, but the inoculated soil plot was less than the non-inoculated soil plot by 13%, 33% each in Shinpaldalkong2 and SS2-2. The number of pods, the number of grains and the weight of grains in the yield characteristics of the inoculated soil plot were more than in the non-inoculated soil plot in Daewonkong, but the number of pods, grains and the weight of grains in the yield result in the inoculated soil plot was less than in the non-inoculated soil plot in Shinpaldalkong2 and SS2-2. The mean yield(per 10a) of Daewonkong was increased 11% in the inoculated soil plot, but the mean yeil(per 10a) of Shinpaldalkong2 was decreased 4% and SS2-2 was also decreased 23%.

      • 연료분무 및 연소 3 : 압축착화 엔진에서 분사압이 저온연소에 미치는 영향

        압축착화 엔진에서 저온연소 기술은 엔진 연소실 내 화확반응이 질소산화물(NOx) 및 입자상 물질(PM)의 발생이 동시에 억제되는 저온 산화 영역에서 이루어지도록 하는 연소기술이다. 저온연소를 달성하는 방법으로는 크게 대용량이 EGR 을 공급하고 연료분사시기를 진작시키는 high dilution 방법과 적당량의 EGR을 공급하는 대신 연료를 TDC 근체에서 분사하는 late-injection 방법 (일명 Modulated Kinetics)으로 나눌 수 있다. 이번 연구에서는 이 중 MK 방법을 사용하여 저온연소 운전영역에서 연료 분사압력의 변화가 엔진의 출력 미 배기성능에 주는 영향을 디젤 단기통 엔진을 이용하여 조사하였다. 엔진 실험 결과를 살펴보면 MK 연소가 산소농도 16%, 분사압 950~1050 bar 사이에서 성공적으로 구현되어 NOx와 Smoke 의 동시 저감이 이루어짐을 확인하였다. 특히 MK 연소 영역에서 분사압이 높아짐에 따라 Smoke의 발생이 억제될 뿐만 아니라 THC 및 CO의 배출은 감소하고 NOx의 배출은 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 분사시기가 TDC와 가까워짐에 따라 THC와 CO의 배출은 증가하는 반면 Smoke와 NOx의 배출은 감소함을 확인하였다. Diesel low temperature combustion (LTC) is the concept where fuel is burned at a low temperature oxidation regime so that NOx and particulate matters (PM) can simultaneously be reduced. There are two ways to realize low temperature combustion in compression ignition engines. One is to supply a large amount of EGR gas combined with advancing fuel injection timing. The other is to use a moderate level of EGR with fuel injection at near TDC which is generally called Modulated kinetics (MK) method. In this study, the latter was used to realize LTC operation in a single cylinder engine and the effects of fuel injection pressure on performance and emissions were evaluated. The engine test results show that MK operations were successfully achieved with 16% O2 concentration and injection pressure of 950 to 1050 bar, and NOx and PM were significantly suppressed at the same time. In addition, with an increase in fuel injection pressure, the levels of smoke, THC and CO were decreased while NOx emissions were increased. Moreover, as fuel injection timing retarded to TDC, more THC and CO emissions were generated and smoke and NOx were decreased.

        IPv6 기반 NGN 환경에서 무결성을 제공하는 역추적 기법

        현재의 인터넷 환경은 IP 기반 네트워크의 구조적인 특성상 송신지 주소를 위조하였을 경우 패킷의 근원지를 찾아 내기 어렵다는 문제를 가지고 있다. DDoS 공격이 발생할 경우 또한 능동적인 방어를 하기는 어렵다. 이러한 네트워크상에서의 취약점과 공격에 대응하기 위한 역추적 기법들이 연구되어왔으나 대부분 IPv4 네트워크 환경만을 위한 기법들이며 전송된 역추적 데이터의 변조여부를 검증하기가 어렵다. IPv6 네트워크 환경에서의 역추적 기법들이 연구되어왔지만 아직 많은 연구와 발전이 필요하다. 본 논문에서 우리는 무결성을 제공하여 신뢰할 수 있는 IPv6 네트워크 환경에서의 IP 역추적 기법을 제안하며, 이 시스템을 시뮬레이션하고, 기존의 역추적 기법들과 오버헤드 및 기능성에 대해 비교한다. It is difficult to identify attacker's real location when the attacker spoofs IP address in current IPv4-based Internet environment. If the attacks such as DDoS happen in the Internet, we can hardly expect the protection scheme to respond to these attacks in active or real-time manner. Many traceback techniques have been proposed to protect against these attacks, but most traceback schemes were designed to work with the IPv4-based Internet and found to be lack of verification of whether the traceback related information is forged or not. Few traceback schemes for IPv6-based network environment have been suggested, but it has these disadvantages that needs more study. In this paper, we propose the reliable IP traceback scheme supporting integrity of traceback-related information in IPv6 network environment, simulate it, and compare our proposed scheme with exsisting traceback mechanisms in terms of overhead and functionality.

        관성 센서를 이용한 투로터 시스템 제어에 관한 연구

        This paper presents experimental results of the attitude control for a two-rotor system with 3-DOF(degree-of-freedom). Two DC motors are equipped at the two ends of a rectangular beam to generate lift force and the relation between motor voltage and lift force is found experimentally. And inertial sensors are mounted at the center of the beam to measure the roll angle and a complementary filter is designed to get the angle during DC motors driving. A controller with nonlinear compensation, integrator and state feedback to achieve asymptotic tracking for a step input and reject input disturbance is designed and experimented.

        대학 축구선수의 조기은퇴 원인과 우등생으로써의 변화 연구

        이 연구는 학생운동 선수의 조기은퇴에 대한 대안과 필요성이 제기됨에 따라 대학축구선수의 조기은퇴 원인과 우등생으로써의 변화 연구를 실시하였다. 연구의 목적을 대학축구선수들의 조기은퇴 현황과 원인을 분석하고 조기은퇴 선수들이 대학생활에서 우등생으로 변화된 사례를 알아봄으로써 조기은퇴 선수들을 위한 대안을 세울 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하는데 있다. 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학축구선수의 조기은퇴 현황을 파악하였다. 둘째, 대학축구선수의 조기은퇴원인을 파악하였다. 셋째, 대학축구선수의 조기은퇴 학생 중 연구 참여자의 대학생활을 알아보았다. 넷째, 우등생에 대한 또래학생의 의식을 알아보았다. 다섯째, 대학축구선수의 조기은퇴 학생이 우등생으로 변화된 사례와 시사점을 알아보았다. 1차 연구 참여자는 대학축구선수의 조기은퇴 현황과 원인을 분석하기 위해 2006년-2009년에 입학한 학생 중 조기은퇴 한 학생 96명으로 개인 신상카드와 상담 일지를 중심으로 분석하였다. 2차 연구 참여자는 조기은퇴 선수의 대학생활, 우등생에 대한 의식, 우등생으로 변화된 사례를 대한 고찰을 위해 조기은퇴 학생 7명, 일반학생 5명을 선정하여 심층면담을 실시하였다. 축구선수의 조기은퇴 현황과 원인분석에 대한 차료처리는 SPSS 12.0을 이용하여 기술통계량을 산출한 양적방법을 사용하였고 심층면담을 통해 얻어진 자료는 텍스트분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 대학축구선수의 조기은퇴 현황은 입학정원 218명 중 96명(44.04%)이 조기은퇴 한 것으로 나타났고, 조기은퇴 원인은 공부의 필요성 때문에 19명(19.79%), 운동능력이 부족해서 23명(23.96%), 부상으로 인해 27명(28.12%), 가정 형편이 어려워서 7명(7.29%), 지도자와 불화로 인해 11명(11.46%), 기타 9명(9.38)이었다. 연구 참여자의 대학생활은 학업 성적, 원어민 영어 학습, 어학연수, 자격증을 이용한 취업준비, 리더 역할 등을 수행하여 자신의 영향력을 높이는데 주력하였다. 우등생에 대한 또래학생들의 의식은 학업성적이 우수하고 리더십, 원만한 교우관계, 자기 발전을 위해 투자하는 학생, 타인을 배려하는 마음을 실천하는 학생, 탈렌트적 재능을 발휘하는 학생을 우등생으로 의식하고 있었다. 조기은퇴 학생이 우등생으로 변화된 사례의 시사점은 공부와 운동을 병행한 교육정책의 필요성, 대학의 리더는 사회의 리더로 성장할 수 있고, 자기 개발을 위해 시간과 노력을 투자하는 학생은 미래의 비전을 갖게 된다는 점을 제시하고 있다. This research has been investigated on the early retirement reasons for college soccer players and change into honor students under the circumstance that the necessity of alternatives for the early retirement of student players has been raised. This research investigated the cases of change of early retired players from college soccer players into honor students during their college life for analyzing the current condition and reasons of early retirement and providing early retired players with basic materials for setting up the alternatives. Research questions for accomplishing the purpose of research are as followings: First, it identified the current early-retirement condition of the college soccer players. Second, it grasped the early-retirement reasons of the college soccer players. Third, it explored the college life of participants in the research among early retired students. Fourth, it investigated the recognition of peer groups toward honor students. Fifth, it examined the cases and indications of change from early-retired students to honor students among college soccer players. Participants in the first research were 96 early retired players among students who entered school in 2006~2009. The analysis was conducted by focusing on personal identification card and counselling diary in order to analyze the current condition and reasons for the early-retirement of the college soccer players. The participants in the second research were 7 early retired students and 5 general students. Research and in-depth interview were conducted for examining the college life of early retired students, awareness toward honor students, and change into honor students. Quantitative method of descriptive statistics was applied by using SPSS 12.0 for data dealing in regard to the early-retirement condition of soccer players and cause analysis. As to the data, obtained through in-depth interview, text analysis was carried out. Findings of research on the current condition of early retirement showed that 96 (44.04%) of 218 students retired early. The reasons for early retirement are varied; the necessity of study for 19 players (19.79%), the lack of athletic capability for 23 players (23.96%), injury for 27 players (28.12%), financial difficulty of family for 7 players (7.29%), conflict with a leader for 11 players (11.46%), and other reasons for 9 players (9.38%). Participants in the research made an effort to enhance their power by performing various things; study for getting academic record, English learning from native speakers, language study abroad, acquirement of certificates for job preparation, and role of a leader, and etc. Recognition of peer groups toward honor students are that honor students are excellent in academic grade and leadership, form the amicable relationships with school friends, invest themselves in self-development, practice the mind of taking care of others, and display their talent. Indicating points of change case from early-retired players into honor students are that education policy to combine study and athletics is required, leader of college can grow as a leader of society, and students who invest their time and efforts in self-development have the clear vision of the future.
