BACKGROUND : Treatment of DVT consists of unfractionated or low-molecular-weight heparin for 5 to 7 days, together with oral anticoagulation with warfarin given for minimum 3 months. It takes several days from starting warfarin to reaching a therapeutic level. A therapeutic level means that the blood is anticoagulated enough to treat the thromboembolism, but not too much. Too much warfarin can lead to bleeding complications. So it needs to establish correct warfarin starting dose. But the correct warfarin starting dose is not definitely established in Korea. METHOD : We retrospectively examined the charts of 49 DVT (Initial dose 5 mg : 14 patient, 10 mg : 35 patients) patients to evaluate the appropriateness of warfarin starting dose 5 mg, 10 mg by 4 criteria. The criteria is time to reach target INR 2.0~3.0, side effect occurring rate, times of maintaining each INR range, dose changing frequency. RESULTS : There were no differences in time to reach target INR 2.0~3.0 between 2 group (10 mg vs 5 mg : 4.69 ± 1.76 vs 5.50 ± 1.9 day (P=0.166)). But side effect occurring rate (4% vs 0% (P=0.001)), times of maintaining INR greater than 2.0 (P 0.05), frequency of decreasing dose (P=0.001) were higher in 10 mg starting group. Times of maintaining INR less than 2.0 was higher in 5 mg starting dose (P=0.021). CONCLUSION : Considering the time to reach target INR 2.0~3.0, it seems to be appropriate to start warfarin dose both 5 mg & 10 mg. But there were some differences in baseline characteristics between 2 groups (baseline INR value, number of patients showing PLT 150K, body weight). So it needs reinforcing prospective study controlling patient-baseline characteristics.

고추(Capsicum annuum L.)는 전 세계적으로 많이 섭취하고 있는 채소 중 하나이다. 본 연구에서는 청양(靑陽) 품종의 고추를 이용하여 항산화, 미백효과를 측정하여 기능성 화장품 소재로서의 개발 가능성을 제시하고자 하였다. HPLC(high-performance liquid chromatography)을 이용하여 유용성분 페놀 성분을 분석하였으며DPPH(2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radical 소거활성 및 hydrogen peroxide 소거활성 및 tyrosinase 저해 활성을 측정하여 항산화 효과 및 미백 효과를 평가하였다. 실험결과 청양고추 추출물은 페놀성분 gallic acid, protocatechuic acid 순으로 각각 0.106 ± 0.01, 0.105 ± 0.02 ㎎/g의 함량을 보였다. 추출물 1,000 ㎍/㎖의 농도에서 56.95%의 DPPH 소거활성을 나타냈고, 43.97%의 hydrogen peroxide 소거활성을 나타내었다. 또한L-tyrosine과 L-DOPA(L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine)를 기질로 사용한 미백효능 실험에서 추출물 1,000 ㎍/㎖은tyrosinase 활성을 각각 52.44%, 42.61%로 억제시켰다. 이러한 결과는 청양고추 추출물과 그 유효성분이 항산화 및미백 효과가 있음을 시사하며, 향후 미백 기능성 화장품 소재로의 발전 가능성을 제시한다.

As an extension of the current Web in representing Web data, the Semantic Web provides means to share well-defined meaning of terms with semantically annotated information. To represent and process the relational data in the Semantic Web environment for enhanced application services, relational data require to be transformed into the ontology form. In this paper, we propose a Semantic Web technique to automatically convert relational databases into ontology described in OWL by inspecting the catalog information of relational database schema and the corresponding ontology information in OWL. We also develop an automatic conversion tool, called R20WL based on a set of mapping rules for not only the schema information of the source database but also its instances to create both ontology and ontological individuals. By automating the conversion of the relational schema and instances, the ontology developers can only add semantic constraints fused in the application processes onto the ontology frame. 구상성단 M15에서 점근거성계열성에 의한 화학적 진화의 영향

최근의 연구결과에 의하면 점근거성계열 단계에서 방출된 질소, 탄소, 산소 등 상대적으로 가벼운 원소들이 헬륨과 함께 구상성단의 화학적 진화에 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 특히 Ventura & D'Anatona(2009)에 의하면 M15와 같이 중원소 함량이 낮은 구상성단일 경우 이 영향이 더욱 두드러진다. 우리는 이 효과가 구상성단 M15의 특이 수평계열 형태 및 Sandage 주기천이현상에 미치는 영향을 연구하기 위하여 질소 및 헬륨 함량이 대폭 증가된 항성진화트랙 및 종족합성모델을 구현하였다.
