The polymeric desiccant rotor is made from the super absorbent polymer by ion modification. The moisture sorption capacity of the super desiccant polymer(SDP) is 4 to 5 times larger than those of common desiccant meterials such as silica gel or zeolite. It is also known that SDP can be regenerated even at the relatively low temperature. To fabricate the desiccant rotor, firstly the SDP was laminated by coating the SDP on polyethylene sheet. Then corrugated and rolled up into a rotor. The diameter, the depth, the dimensions of the corrugated channel, etc. were pre-determined from numerical simulation on the heat and mass transfer in the desiccant rotor. The dehumidification performance was tested in a climate chamber. The relevant tests were carried out at the process air inlet temperature of 32℃, the regeneration air inlet temperature of 60℃ and the inlet dew-point temperature of both the process air and the regeneration air of 18.5℃.when the rotation period is long, the moisture sorption is not effective. In the desiccant rotor developed in this study, the optimum rotation period is found about 350s at the regeneration temperature of 60 ℃. It was found from further experiments that the optimum rotation tends to decreases as the regeneration temperature increases. Meanwhile, the outlet temperature of the process air deceases monotonically as the rotation period increases.

External lyogels containing prostaglandin $E_1$ ethyl ester $(PGE_1-EE)$, a prodrug of prostaglandin $E_1\;(PGE_1)$ as a therapeutic agent for erectile dysfunction, were formulated to overcome the aqueous instability and enhance the percutaneous absorption. Lyogels of $PGE_1-EE$ were prepared with ethanol (EtOH)/proplyene glycol (PG) cosolvent system as a vehicle, cineol as an enhancer, and hydroxypropylcellusose as a gelling agent. In vitro percutaneous absorption studies were performed to determine the rate of $PGE_1$ absorption through rat or hairless mouse skin. The permeability of $PGE_1-EE$ lyogel with enhancer was 16-fold greater than that of lyogel without enhancer. Cosolvent produced 9-fold increase in percutaneous absorption. Pharmacodynamic effects of lyogels were evaluated in mature male cats in terms of intracavernosal pressure (ICP). Lyogels containing 0.1 % of $PGE_1-EE$ showed higher ICP compared to intraurethral preparation of $PGE_1$ (1 %) and enhancer-free control lyogel. The shelf-life $(t_{10%})$ of lyogel at refrigerated condition $(4^{\circ}C)$ was calculated as 928 days, which is 4.2 times longer than that of control hydrogel. As a result, $PGE_1-EE$ was formulated successfully to a lyogel system with a selective enhancer and cosolvent system for the topical delivery of $PGE_1$.

The purpose of this study is analyze the physical and chemical characteristics(water temperature, salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen, COD, phosphate, suspended solids, dissolved inorganic nitrogen) of the Southwestern coastal area of Korea. An investigation on oceanographical conditions of seawater in five sites (Youngkwang, Mokpo, Jindo, Wando and Dukrang bay) was carried out during from 1995 to 1996. These sea area showed a wide variation with time, place and season. These factors are very important for the inhabitance and laying eggs of aquatic life. The sea adjacent the coast of Wando is comparatively pure as yet. But recently, on account of the increasing pollution by materials flowing from islands, the environment of aquatic life gradually worsen. From the data collected in this research it is possible to conclude that a countermeasure for the preservation of oceanic environment with a purpose of decreasing the level of pollutants which affects the ocean in need.
