Thermal batteries are used in military power sources that require robustness and long storage life for applications in missiles and torpedoes. $FeS_2$ powder is currently used as a cathode material because of its high specific energy density, environmental non-toxicity, and low cost. $MS_2$ (M = Fe, Ni, Co) cathodes have been explored as novel candidates for thermal batteries in many studies; however, the discharge characteristics (1, 2, 3 plateau) of single cells in thermal batteries with different cathodes have not been elucidated in detail. In this study, we independently analyzed the discharge voltage and calculated the total polarizations of single cells using $MS_2$ cathodes. Based on the results of this study, we propose $NiS_2$ as a potential cathode material for use in thermal batteries.

However, large particle size of conventional $FeS_2$ has been deterred its possible application for higher power thermal batteries. In order to improve the power density, high energy ball milling of $FeS_2$ has been introduced to crush the micron-sized $FeS_2$. Discharge characteristics of the single cells fabricated with nano-materials and conventional $FeS_2$ powder were evaluated.

It is essential to prepare the decommissioning plan for a nuclear power plant (NPP) for the safe decommissioning of the NPP, minimization of the generation of decommissioning wastes, and protection of human beings and environment. Although Kori unit 1 and Wolsong unit 1 will be destined to their decommissioning in Korea in the near future. there is no provisons about preparing the decommissioning plan. In this paper, therefore, the draft guidelines of the decommissioning plan for a NPP were developed by considering the domestic situation, based on the comparative analyses of the regulatory guidelines of the decommissioning plan in U.S., U.K. and France. The draft guidelines are expected to play an important role to modify the domestic laws and regulations on the decommissioning of the NPP, and to give a license holder in charge of decommissioning the detailed instructions for preparing it in advance.

본 연구에서는 독재자 게임에서 나타나는 기부행위를 통해 이타심의 성별 차이를 살펴보고자 한다. 특히 연구의 대상을 8-13세 아동으로 한정하여 이타심의 성별 차이가 아동기에서도 나타나는지를 알아본다. 분석 결과 여아가 남아에 비해 기부를 더 많이 한다는 사실을 발견하였는데, 이러한 결과는 아동의 인지적 및 비인지적 특성에 대한 다양한 변수를 통제한 후에도 강건하게 나타났다. 비록 분석 표본이 아동 일반에 대한 대표성이 없다는 한계는 있지만, 본 연구의 결과는 이타심의 성별 차이가 언제 어떻게 사회적으로 형성되는 것인지에 대한 질문을 제기하고 있다. In this paper, we examine gender differences in giving behavior among young children aged 8 to 13 by conducting modified dictator games. We find that girls give significantly more than boys. The results are robust to controlling for a rich set of control variables including cognitive and non-cognitive skills. While children in our sample are not representative of general population, our findings hint that gender differences in altruism appear at young ages.
전도성 나노와이어와 비전도성 나노입자로 구성된 하이브리드 나노복합체 전기전도도의 해석학적 모델 도출

Analytical model of the hybrid nanocomposites consisting of conducting nanowires and insulating nanoparticles is developed to predict the electrical conductivity with respect to the geometrical/electrical parameters and content of constituting fillers. Extensive simulations are performed using the empirical computation model based on Monte-Carlo method to investigate the electrical conductivity of the hybrid nanocomposites. From the calculation data, the sigmoidal relationship between the conductivity and the ratio of particle diameter and wire length is observed. In addition, log-linear regression is applied to the conductivity database in order to quantitatively estimate the exclusive volume effect originated from the insulating particle fillers and the effective length variation of the conducting wires. From the analysis results, an analytical model that represents the electrical conductivity of the hybrid nanocomposites is derived according to the filler parameters.
갈바어닐링온도변화가 합금화용융아연코팅의 합금상과 마찰특성에 미치는 영향

This paper is aimed to understand the effect of different galvannealing temperatures on the frictional properties and Fe-Zn intermetallic phases of the galvannealed (GA) coatings on steel sheets. Their galvannealing treatments were conducted at 465, 505, 515 and 540℃ for about 10s in the additional heating furnace of an industrial continuous hot-dip galvanizing line. The mechanical and the frictional properties of the coatings were estimated using nanoindentation, nanoscratch, micro vickers hardness tests and flat friction tests, which were performed at contact pressures of 4, 20 and 80㎫. Also, the correlation between the microstructure and the frictional properties of the GA coatings were investigated by SEM observation for the cross-section of the GA coating after and before flat friction tests. The results showed that the mechanical and the frictional properties of the coatings are strongly dependent on their phase distributions and microstructure. Especially, in low contact pressure of 4㎫ the frictional properties of the coatings were dependent on the surface phases and morphology, while in high contact pressure of 80㎫ it was influenced by their mechanical properties based on the dominant phase distributions.
