        참당귀, 중국당귀, 일당귀의 헤모글로빈 활성도 비교

        Objectives : Angelicae gigas, A. sinensis and A. acutiloba are three types of plants used as Angelicae Radix (Dang-Gui). Many doctors of Korean medicine want to know the difference in clinical use of these three species. This study aimed to compare the hemoglobin-related activity of the extracts of Angelicae gigas, A. sinensis and A. acutiloba roots by measuring the intensity of binding oxygen to hemoglobin using Raman spectroscopy. Methods : Hemoglobin activity was measured by chemical analysis and Raman spectroscopy to compare the pharmaceutical efficacy of three Angelica root extracts. The oxygenated hemoglobin intensity, blood decursinol and acetylcholinestrase(AChE) concentration in mice were measured. In addition, the effects of three Angelica root extracts on oxygenated hemoglobin intensity, decursinol and AChE concentration in red blood cells (RBC) from human were also investigated. Results : The contents of decursin, decursinol and decursinol angelate, which affected physiological activity and RBC properties, were higher in the extract of A. gigas root than in those of A. sinensis and A. acutiloba roots. Moreover, oxygenated hemoglobin intensity in the A. gigas extract was higher than that of other two species in the blood of mice and human RBCs. Also, the blood decursinol and AChE concentrations of A. gigas root extract were higher than that of A. sinensis and A. acutiloba roots. Conclusions : These results suggest that A. gigas is more effective in treating disease related oxygen deficiency in RBC deformation under oxidative stress

        황기의 연근 별 성분과 생리 활성에 미치는 영향

        Objectives : Astragali Radix is known as a perennial plant, and it is estimated that there may be differences in the contents and their components depending on the ages. The components of astragali radix may activate differently. Methods : The astragali radix components cultivated in Jecheon( one year ), Korea, Shanxi province( 7 years ), China, Inner Mongolia( 5 years) and Inner Mongolia ( 8 years ) were extracted with pure ethyl alcohol and identified the component molecules. The extracted components of astragali radix were measured the activity of Telomerase for confirmation of their Telomere lengths. Results : The cell activity has been shown the greatest contribution in astragali radix of Inner Mongolia(8 years). Although there is the difference in cell activity between the two products of the 5 and 7 years, the difference between the values was small and the 7 years product was slightly higher than 5 years product. Conclusions : Total Astragaloside contents were highest in the product of Inner Mongolia(8 years), followed by the 7 year product of Shanxi province. Especially, astragaloside and cycloastragenol (TA-65) among the astragali radix components have shown to be increased Telomerase activity in the DNA metabolism of the cells, and the efficacy depends on the ages of growth.

        석고(石膏)의 본초고증(本草考證) 및 좌용석고(左用石膏)의 품질(品質)

        Objectives: This study has been done to make sure the Gypsum's standardization in medical use. Gypsum has a quality for removing pathogenic heat from the stomach meridian function and headache. Methods: I studied the herbalogical Gypsum and compared its' compositions and character before and after high temperature burning. Results: Gypsum and Lishi(理石) are the sulfate which is made of $CaSO_4{\cdot}2H_2O$, Feldspar is a Calcite, Hanshuishi(寒水石) and Ningshuishi(凝水石) are not a Gypsum but a Magnesium Sulfate($MgSO_4$) and Kalium Sulfate($K_2SO_4$). Conclusion: Real Gypsum is supposed to be Yiong cheng${\setminus}$(應城) Gypsum. Chemical edible Gypsum isn't appropriated to be used in medicine.

        대자석의 품질기준(品質基準) 및 포제전후의 성질비교

        Objectives: This study has been done to compare the Haematite's composition before and after using processing method and to clarify its quality and naming through the historical herbal books. Methods: I studied the Haematite and processed Haematite using physical and chemical methods which contain microscopic analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis, thermal analysis, XRF, ICP, etc, to compare the compositions and its characters. Results: Haematite is a metallic oxide(Hematite, $Fe_2O_3$). Haematite contains a main ingredients of crude Haematite Fe 40.336% - 62.174%, processed Haematite $50.499%{\sim}62.791%$(a theory value is 69.944% the korean pharmacopoeia wants >45%) and small ingredients, also. Conclusion: A radio-element contents of U, Th contain less than average contents of the lithosphere's U 1.8ppm, Th 7.2ppm.

        시호(柴胡)(Bupleuri Radix)추출물이 고지방식이를 급여한 흰쥐의 혈청지질 및 항산화계에 미치는 영향(影響)

        Effects of siho(Bupleuri Radix) extracts on lipid composition and antioxidant system were investigated in rat fed high fat diet. body weight gain, concentration of plasma triglyceride, total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol showed a tendency to decrease in siho(Bupleuri Radix) extracts groups. However, the concentration of HDL-cholesterol showed no significantly different among treatments. Plasma and liver TBARS concentration showed a low values in siho(Bupleuri Radix) extracts groups. Activities of SOD, GSH-Px and CAT showed a tendency to increase in siho(Bupleuri Radix) extracts groups.

        용골(龍骨)(부용치)(附龍齒)의 품질표준(品質標準) 및 포제전후의 성분비교(成分比較)

        Objectives: This experimental study has been done to compare the Os Draconis composition before and after using processing method. Os Draconis has a quality for calming the liver meridian function and relaxation the mind. Methods: I studied the Os Draconis and processed Os Draconis by vinegar to compare the compositions and its' character. Results: Os Draconis is not a dinosaur's bone fossil but a mammal's bone fossil which has a Calcite mineral, an Apatite mineral, $SiO_2\;Al_2$ O, etc. Os Draconis contains a main ingredients CaO>50.00%. Processed Os Draconis which is heated and soaked in vinegar changes to weak condition Conclusion: Os Draconis is supposed to be a mammal's bone fossil. Some Os Draconis has a radioactive substance like a U, Th so we pay heed to deal with it in a medical clinic.

        변증시치(辨證施治)와 정병전방(定病專方)

        A therapeutic following confirming symptom(辨證施治) has a proper characteristic in oriental medicine, which can be grasped but by pathological body reflection not by histological or molecular level etiology. It is also able to be selected a prescription by means of clinical trials which promote human body's natural resurgent. Whereas, a therapeutic regimen prescription(定病傳方) has a merit in prescribing a disease to the point. which has been developed and established a therapy method naturally for thousands years. Then, which of the two is the better method in clinic? The answer is a co-exist of the two therapy methods in a matter of developing deciding therapeutic cooperation. To tie a knot, two methods need the opposite one.

        The Virtual Reality Modeling Language, VRML, is fast becoming a standard language for describing virtual worlds networked via the global Internet and hyperlinked with the World Wide Web. But the current version of VRML only allows limited interactive behavior for the creation of virtual worlds, and it is not easy to create VRML documents because of its three-dimensional nature. Recently several authoring tools are announced for creating VRML documents, and next version of VRML are proposed for richer behaviors, including animations, motion physics and real-time multi-user interaction. In this paper, we briefly introduce the VRML system with several authoring tools and discuss the comparison with each others. We also briefly introduce the future version of VRML and discuss the comparison between several proposal, This research results will be the basis for design of new authoring tool and adaptation of next version of VRML.
