Castlemans disease is a relatively rare disease of differential diagnostic interest in patients with lymphadenopathy. The etilogy and pathogenesis are still not elucidated. One case of Castlemsns disease of the pelvis is reported. Tumoral lesion was located in the lymph nodes of the right broad ligament. Histologically, the lymph nodes demonstrated the the hyaline-vascular type of Castleman's disease which had a favorable prognosis. This unusal presentation made Castlemans disease difficult to diagnose preoperatively. We describe a patient with Castleman disease of hyaline-vascular type localized to the pelvic cavity.

Gyoungok-go (GOG; Qiongyu-gao in Chinese) has been used in traditional oriental medicine for the improvement of various physiological vitality functions. The aim of present work is to investigate a processing possibility of vinegar using GOG. GOG vinegar was prepared by two stage fermentations of alcohol and vinegar. The method of GOG fermentation with polished rice as a fermentation substrate is not yet established. The result of alcohol fermentation rate of GOG with some strains, strain No. 1 produced the highest alcohol contents among 7 strains. The strain No. 1 identified Saccharomyces paradoxus by 18S rDNA classification. S. paradoxus was produced over 20% alcohol in the 1$\sim$11% GOG with polished rice. A. aceti was produced 8.52% acetic acid from 6.5% alcohol containing 11% GOG, after incubation for 11 days.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the epidemiologic and clinical characteristics of respiratory adenovirus infections in children, and to investigate the difference in the clinical features between single adenovirus infection and coinfection with adenovirus and other respiratory viruses. Methods: A retrospective study was performed in 470 children hospitalized with respiratory adenovirus infections in Gwangmyeong Sungae Hospital between January 2013 and December 2013. Results: The mean age of the patients was 46.2 months and the peak incidence was in the 12- to 24-month age group. The mean duration of hospitalization and fever were 4.5±1.1 and 4.5±9.2 days, respectively. Seasonally it had occurred throughout the year, but showed the highest prevalence in August and high prevalence in July, September, and October. The frequency of viral coinfection with other respiratory viruses was 39.6%. The age was significantly younger in coinfection group than in the single adenovirus infection group (P<0.001). The prevalence rates of bronchiolitis (P<0.001) and pneumonia (P=0.042) were significantly higher in the respiratory syncytial virus coinfection group. The coinfection rate was significantly higher in children aged less than 2 years (P<0.001), and the prevalence rates of bronchiolitis (P<0.001) and pneumonia (P<0.001) were also higher in the group aged less than 2 years than other age groups. Conclusion: Adenovirus is an important viral agent in hospitalized children with acute respiratory tract infection. Lower respiratory tract infections, such as bronchiolitis and pneumonia, and coinfection with other respiratory viruses were more frequently occurred in patients under 2 years of age. Further studies are needed to clarify whether coinfection with other respiratory viruses would increase the rate of lower respiratory tract infections in patients with respiratory adenoviral infections. 정확한 완충기체효과가 적용된 질량분석원리에 대한 다중입자 분석 전산시늉

질량분석기로 사용되는 폴 트랩 내에서 보다 실제적인 이온운동을 예측해내기 위하여 약 2천 개의 다중입자의 궤적에 대한 계산을 실시하였다. 보다 정확한 질량 분석스펙트럼을 얻기 위하여 충돌확률에 대한 보다 정확하고 실질적인 함수 값을 도입하였다. 계산된 전산시늉의 결과들로부터 특히 작은 질량의 영역에 대한 분석을 할 경우 본 논문에서 제시된 바와 같이 매우 정확한 충돌확률이 고려되어야 함을 확인할 수 있었다. To predict the practical characteristics of ion motion in the paul trap as a mass spectrometer, the ion trajectories of the multi-particle(over than 2000 particles) were calculated. In order to expect more practical mass spectrum, the exact expressions for the collision probability was adopted. From the simulation result, we found that the exact collision probability has to be considered to analyze the materials existed in the low mass region.
ITD(Ion Trap Detector) cell을 이용한 질량분석기의 구성 및 동작특성

ITD cell을 이용한 질량분석기를 구성하였고 동작 특성을 평가하였다. ITD cell의 Ring electrode 의 최소 내경은 10 mm이고, end cap 간 최소간격이 14.14 mm 이었고, 완충기체로서 He을 사용하였다. 원자를 이온화시키기 위하여, 전자총에서 발생시킨 열전자를 ring의 측면에 위치한 6 mm 지름의 구멍을 통하여 ITD cell내로 입사시켰다. Ring에 인가해준 1.1 MHz의 RF 전압을 순차적으로 증가시키면서 end cap에 나있는 hole로 빠져나오는 이온들을 전자증배관으로 검출하였다. RF전압과 전자총을 연속적으로 제어할 수 있도록 AD-DA converter를 이용한 자동제어 시스템을 구성하였다. 표준 원자로서 사용된 Ca+ 이온의 질량분석 신호를 획득하였으며, He 완충기체의 압력이 1.0 x 10-4 torr일 때 질량분석 신호가 최적화됨을 실험적으로 확인하였다. Mass spectrometer using an ITD cell was constructed and the characteristics of performance were evaluated. The ITD cell was composed of a ring and two end caps. The minimum diameter of the ring electrode and the minimum separation between the end caps were 10mm and 14.14mm, respectively. He gas was used as buffer gas. The thermal electron to ionize the atom was injected into the ITD cell through the side hole on the ring electrode. With increasing the RF voltage, unstable ions ejected through the hole on the end cap were detected by electron multiplier. Servo system was constructed for the control of the RF voltage and electron gun sequentially. Mass spectrum of Ca+ ion as standard mass was measured, and the He buffer gas pressure for the optimal operation as mass spectrometer was experimentally determined to be 1.0 x 10-4 torr.

Massive secretory diarrhea with pre-renal insufficiency, hyponatremia, hypokalemia and metabolic alkalosis or acidosis is associated with some large villous adenomas of the rectum and is called with depletion syndrome. This characteristic fluid and electrolyte depletion syndrome is caused by secretion of sodium, potassium, and fluid from the tumor. PGE2 formation in the villous adenoma appears to be the cause of fluid secretion by the abnormal tumor epithelium. Surgical removal of villous adenoma is the only promising therapy, In case of inoperability, denial of surgical intervention or just for palliative treatment prior to surgery, the use of PG synthetase inhibitors may facilitate the correction of severe fluid-electrolyte deficits. We reported a case of large villous adenoma of the rectum with depletion syndrome aceompanied by secretory diarrhea and fluid and electrolyte depletion with metabolic alkalosis due to severe vomiting.
