Design and synthesis of acceptor–donor–acceptor small molecule based on caffeine derivative for efficient and stable polymer solar cells

We designed and synthesized IDTBTCf (Indacenodithiophene-benzothiadiazolecaffeine) non-fullereneacceptor by using the caffeine derivative as the electron withdrawing end-group. It showed strongpolarization that is possible to improve stability by causing non-covalent interaction in active layer. When 2.5 wt% IDTBTCf was introduced as the third component in PTB7:PC71BM binary blend, the powerconversion efficiency (PCE) is more higher value of 8.7% than the reference (8.4%). As a result of stabilitymeasurement without encapsulation in a glove box for 172 h, a device with IDTBTCf (degradation rate ofefficiency, 8%) showed better stability than the reference one (degradation rate of efficiency, 15.5%).

BACKGROUND: Estimation of soil nitrogen supply is essential to manage nitrogen fertilization in arable land. In Korea, nitrogen fertilization is recommended based on the soil organic matter content because it is difficult to assess nitrogen (N) mineralization of upland soils directly. In this study, the relationship between soil organic matter (SOM) content and N mineralization was investigated to explore the limitation of using SOM in predicting soil N mineralization. METHODS AND RESULTS: Soil samples from the 0 to 10 cm depth were collected from 18 individual pepper cultivated fields in Tae-an and Chung-yang provinces before fertilization. N mineralization in the soils was quantified using incubation for 70 days at 30℃. The mineralizable soil N (MSN) was positively correlated with SOM, and the relation equation between MSN and SOM was‘MSN(kg 10a-1) = 0.2933*SOM(g kg-1) + 0.0897 (r2=0.6224, p<0.001)’. However, the differences of N mineralization among the soils with the similar concentrations of soil organic matter were about 3 to 4.6 times, suggesting that the other soil factors such as total N concentration or EC should affect N mineralization. CONCLUSION: We concluded that SOM alone could not reflect the capacity of soil to supply N that is used for recommendation of N fertilization rate. Therefore, other soil properties should be considered to improve N fertilization management in arable land for sustainable agriculture.

F-162 Clinical characteristics of screen-detected lung cancer in never smoker

Purpose: National Lung Screening Trial (NLST) showed effect of screening in high risk population. However, screening in low risk population, especially never smoker is not recommended. Nevertheless, owing to easy access to medical care and affordable CT in Korea, many never smokers also take a medical check-up including chest CT. Therefore, we evaluated the clinical characteristics and outcomes of screening-detected lung cancer in never smoker. Materials and methods: This retrospective cohort study included never smoker lung cancer patients diagnosed between 2011 and 2016 in a tertiary referral hospital. The definition of screening-detected lung cancer is diagnosed from medical check-up chest x ray or chest CT without any symptom. The clinical characteristics and survival were analyzed compared to symptom-detected lung cancer. Results: Of 1,213 never smoker lung cancer patients, 705 (58.1%) were screening-detected. Younger age, more prevalent adenocarcinoma, early stage, superior performance status and lung function were observed in screening group. This group showed significant better prognosis than who were detected with symptom in Cox proportional hazard model (hazard ratio = 1.36, 95% CI 1.03-1.80). There was no significant survival difference between screening methods (chest x ray vs. chest CT) in screening group. Conclusion: Screening-detected group showed superior prognosis compare to symptom-detected group in never smokers. But in screening-detected group, there was no survival differences according to screening methods.

2P-490 A-D-A Type Small Molecule Acceptor Based on New End-group for Ternary Blended System in Polymer Solar Cells

Recently polymer solar cells (PSC) blended with a fullerene derivative has been increasing over 10% of power conversion efficiency (PCE). But fullerene derivatives have some disadvantages such as cost, limited spectral absorption and stability. Most PCE for PSC devices due to the self-aggregation of the fullerene is decreased as time goes by. To overcome these shortcomings, the introduction of ternary blended system is considered as a solution. Thus we designed small molecule acceptor ‘IDT-E2’ using a new end-group. It introduced active layer as a third component. ‘IDT-E2’ makes a hydrogen bonding between another molecules. Hydrogen bonding in active layer can reduce the distance of molecules and increase the charge carrier transport properties. Furthermore its hydrophilicity can make locked morphologies, so we can prevent the self-aggregation of fullerene. In this study, we characterized the new small molecule acceptor of ‘IDT-E2’ and it fabricated inverted devices.

Wool 기반의 산검출 텍스타일 센서를 위한 Bromocresol Purple의 Halochromic 특성 연구

Acid or base compounds in industries as well as acid rain are colorless so that they have difficulty in detecting. In the previous studies, we investigated a nylon chemosensor for detecting acidic liquids. In this study, we attempted to investigate a wool-based textile sensor using bromocresol purple as a pH-indicating dye. Dyeing properties of bromocresol purple on a wool woven fabric were investigated. The pH sensing property was also investigated by dipping the dyed wool fabric in aqueous solution with different pH values. Bromocresol purple in an aqueous solution showed maximum absorption at 432 nm with yellow color at a pH of 2-4, whereas the maximum absorption changed to 589 nm showing violet color at pH 7. Color yields (K/S) of bromocresol purple on wool were highly dependent on the dyebath pH. The wool fabric showed a strong orange color when dyed at pH 2. The color of wool dyed at pH 3-6 was yellowish brown or reddish brown, and the color at pH 7 was grayish blue. The percent exhaustion of bromocresol purple on wool increased as the pH of dyebath decreased, and a high exhaustion value of 98 to 99% could be obtained at pH 2-4. When the yellowish brown sample, dyed at pH 4, was immersed in a solution with a pH range of 4-5, its original color was maintained. Then, the color turned to yelloworange when immersed in a solution of pH 2-3. When immersed in a solution of pH 6, the color of the sample changed into brown. The color was also markedly changed into grayish purple when the sample was dipped in a solution of pH 7-8. The wash fastness of the wool fabric dyed at pH 3-5 was good to very good. The rubbing fastness were excellent, and dry cleaning fastness was very good.

상황인식과정에서의 시선 이동에 관한 성별 특성

In this study, gender characteristics of gaze movements were analyzed in the process of judging a system status through information on the HMI (Human-Machine Interface) screen. Gaze entropy was used as a method to analyze gaze movement in the process of situation awareness. LOCA(Loss of Coolant Accident), SGTR(Steam Generator Tube Rupture), SLB(Steam Line Break), and LOV(Loss of Voltage) which are the accident situation of a nuclear power plant were used as task scenarios for the experiment. Subjects judged the accident situation by looking at the six indicators displayed on the HMI screen showing the accident situation. A total of 20 college students (10 males and 10 females) with no experience in operating a nuclear power plant participated as subjects. In order to measure the gaze data, the subjects performed an experiment while wearing an eye tracker. For all tasks, Shannon entropy did not show a significant difference between men and women, but Markov entropy showed a significant difference between men and women, and it was found that women’s Markov entropy was higher. In conclusion, there was no significant difference between men and women in the ratio of viewing the necessary information elements for situation awareness, but it was found that women had more gaze movements between necessary information elements than men.

병리적 성격특질과 심리적 적응의 관계에서 심리적 유연성의 역할

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of maladaptive personality traits and psychological adjustment, and the role of psychological flexibility in between. Analyzing data from 226 adults, first, maladaptive personality traits, negative affectivity, detachment and disinhibition, in order, showed significant correlations with psychological flexibility and psychological adjustment. Second, psychological flexibility mediated maladaptive personality traits and mental health problems. Third, though psychological flexibility failed to moderate the relationship between maladaptive personality traits and subjective well-being, however, we found that psychological flexibility had a significant moderating effect in the group that has shown a level of +1 standard deviation high maladaptive personality traits. This study implies that intervention using psychological flexibility would be effective as a treatment mechanism to alleviate mental health problems and can be developed as a resource for promoting subjective well-being for those with maladaptive personality traits. In addition, it is suggested that the severity level of the personality pathology dimension should also be considered in relation to psychological adjustment. 본 연구의 목적은 병리적 성격특질과 심리적 적응의 관계와 이 관계에서 심리적 유연성의 역할을 검증하는 것이었으며, 이를 위해 성인 226명의 자료로 결과를 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 첫째, 병리적 성격특질, 부정적 정서성, 애착상실, 탈억제 순으로 심리적 유연성 및 심리적 적응 지표들과 유의한 상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 병리적 성격특질과 정신건강 문제의 관계에서 심리적 유연성은 유의한 매개효과를 나타냈다. 셋째, 병리적 성격특질과 주관적 안녕감의 관계에서 심리적 유연성은 유의한 조절효과를 나타내지 못하였는데, 병리적 성격특질 수준이 상위 1 표준편차에 해당하는 집단에서는 심리적 유연성이 유의한 조절효과가 나타났음을 확인했다. 본 연구를 통해 심리적 유연성을 이용한 개입이 병리적 성격 특질을 가진 사람들의 정신건강 문제를 완화하는 효과적인 치료적 기제로 사용될 수 있을 뿐 아니라 주관적 안녕감 증진을 위한 자원으로 계발될 수 있음을 제안할 수 있다. 또한 심리적 적응과 관련하여 성격 병리 차원의 심각도 수준 역시 고려되어야 함이 시사된다.

Pulmonary Histoplasmosis Identified by Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS) Biopsy: a Case Report

Histoplasmosis is a common endemic mycosis in North, Central, and South America, but Korea is not known as an endemic area. We treated an immunocompetent Korean patient who had histoplasmosis. A 65-year-old Korean man presented with multiple pulmonary clumps of tiny nodules in the both lungs. He had been diagnosed 40 years earlier with pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) and a fungus ball had been diagnosed 4 years earlier. He denied any history of overseas travel. The patient visited our hospital with dyspnea, blood-tinged sputum, and weight loss, which had appeared 2 months earlier. The patient underwent video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) lung biopsy. The biopsy sample showed necrotizing granuloma and the presence of multiple small yeast-like fungi. Tissue culture confirmed Histoplasma capsulatum, and he was finally diagnosed with pulmonary histoplasmosis. Therapy was initiated with 200 mg itraconazole orally once per day. The symptoms disappeared 1 week after the start of treatment. After 4 months, low-dose chest computed tomography showed improvement in the ground glass opacity and size of the lung lesions. In conclusion, we report a case of an immunocompetent patient who developed histoplasmosis in Korea. When a patient shows unexplainable progressive infiltrative lung lesions, histoplasmosis should be considered as one of differential diagnoses although Korea is not an endemic area.

EMG를 활용한 물리적 사용자 인터페이스의 사용성 평가 사례

The usability evaluation of the physical user interface using EMG was performed on the handle of the steam cleaner. Changes in muscle fatigue were studied for two typical types of steam cleaner handles. An experiment was performed on a steam cleaner having a P-type interface and an L-type interface for eight subjects. EMG was measured during the experiment, and subjective evaluation was carried out after the experiment. As a result of the analysis, satisfaction showed a tendency to prefer L-type compared to P-type, and it was found that P-type increased muscle fatigue faster when used for a long time compared to L-type.
