성 토마스 아퀴나스의 양심(良心)에 관한 연구 -제이퍼와 암스트롱의 이해를 중심으로-

Some scholars including F C. Copleston, R. A. Gauthier and J. M. Bradley basically insist that St. Thomas Aquinas’s attempt to achieve harmony between Aristotle who be represented as a pagan and Augustine who be represented as a Christian is just a external harmony. At the inside of their position, there is a subject of ‘revelation’ in the center. His view on St. Thomas Aquinas’ teaching of conscience is in the category of his basic position as such. Because seemingly, a term of conscience seems to be a term which relates not to Aristotelian terms but to Christian revelation. Like this, some scholars’s conception of conscience has an infelicitous evolution. Today, most of people regard the conscience which seem to relate to revelation as a judgeable and the function of self-accusation. But this conception of St. Thomas Aquinas’ conscience has been discussed from the rather different viewpoint. I will discuss especially about Jaffa’s cardinal assertion upon conscience among some scholars. First, there is the question of the relation between St. Thomas Aquinas’s conscience and Aristotle’s teaching. Concerning this, I will scrutinize the contents which Jaffa and mercken insist upon St. Thomas Aquinas’ conscience and revelation. and then, I will bring forth counterarguments on this by presenting the intimate correlation between St. Thomas Aquinas’s conscience and Aristotle’s teaching revolving around D. Westberg, D. C. Langston, T. C. Potts and D. Nelson’s assertion. Second, there is the question of evidence for St. Thomas Aquinas’s truthfulness of conscience. In this behalf, I will examine Jaffa’s insistence on this, And then, I will refute against his assertion on the basis of M. Crow and R. A. Armstrong’s assertion. And now, I will elucidate that although Aristotle doesn’t refer distinctly to conscience which is debated revolving around relation with prudence, virtues and weakness of will makes more opulent contributions to his teaching of action which is on the basis of Aristotle’s teaching in a practical viewpoint. And then, I will reveal that St. Thomas Aquinas presents clearly evidence for the truthfulness of conscience by elucidating the term of conscience as the conception of self-evidence. In conclusion, I will assert that St. Thomas Aquinas’s effort which intends to reconcile Aristotle’s teaching with the teaching of Christianity about conscience is successful by attempting to interpret his teaching of conscience which seemingly seems to relate intimately to the revelation of Christianity as an Aristotelian teaching so far as possible.

There are two different moral precepts in St. Thomas` moral precept One is Aristotelian The other is Christian. By the way, If Aristotelian teaching were a complete system, When we make a synthesis by combining his scheme with Christian moral scheme, that would cause a tension relation between two schemes. Then, There are two viewpoints to interpret the bilateral tension relation. One is it viewpoints that St. Thomas` bilateral synthesis is successful. The other is the viewpoints that his synthesis is actually failed. As for this, I will try to find a roper answer to this controversy by centering about St. Thomas` interpretation on Aristotle`s ``megalosychia``. For the sake of this, Fu I will see through David Honner and Carson Holloway`s assertion that St. Thomas solves the question about megalosychia`s own superiority, contempt for others and ingratitude to be mentioned by Aristotle, by adding or supplying gratitudinis and huminitas to Aristotle`s megalosychia. In the first place, I will refute against David Honner and Carson Holloway`s assertion 효 pointing to ``the internalization of external good`` in relation to the internalization of morality to be mentioned by p.Merchen The next thing, I will refute against David I loner and Carson Holloway`s assertion by centering about Frederick Charles Coplestone`s assertion that St Thomas distorts seriously the virtue of megalosychia by transforming Aristotle`s megalosychia as a independent person into the megalosychia as a dependent person.

The present study was undertaken to investigate an effect of ginseng butanol fraction(total saponin) on the hepatic ethanol metabolism, we used experimental animals for the subject of study. When, in case of ADH and MEOS, ginseng butanol fraction was added, enzyme activity was increased in a small dose, and on the contrary, in a large dose, showed inhibitory effect. in catalase, the activity showed no significant effect by adding ginseng butanol fraction. In the light of kinetic aspect, when, in reaction mixture, ethanol and ginseng butanol fraction were concurrently added and reacted, Km value of ADH and MEOS was decreased. After pretreated with ginseng butanol fraction and inducement of acute toxic state by ethanol, the activities of ADH and MEOS were increased to an extent of about 25% compared to controls. But catalase activity was not significantly affected. In case that ginseng butanol fraction was given to mice fed with 5% ethanol instead of water for 60 days, the activities of ADH and MEOS were increased about 20% to 50% compared to ethanol-treated group. On the contrary, catalase activity was not affected. But blood concentrations of ethanol were decreased due to ginseng butanol fraction treatment. All these observations suggested that reduction of ethanol blood concentration should be dependent upon increased activities of ADH and MEOS. Thereby it suggests the recovery from alcohol intoxication can be prompted by treatment with ginseng.

Infliximab, a tumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-a) inhibitor, has been approved for the treatment of a variety of inflammatory illnesses, including Crohn`s disease. However, infliximab can increase the risk of reactivation of latent tuberculosis (Tbc) infection by affecting host immune responses. Therefore, a screening test should be performed before the initiation of infliximab therapy, and patients with evidence of latent infection should be treated with prophylactic anti-Tbc therapy, Here, we report a case of multifocal disseminated tuberculosis after treatment with infliximab in a patient diagnosed with Crohn`s disease who had no past history of Tbc and showed a negative screening test.
