        Neurocognition of Aged Patients With Chronic Tinnitus: Focus on Mild Cognitive Impairment

        Objectives. To investigate the neurocognition of aged patients with chronic tinnitus and reveal the possible association between tinnitus severity and cognitive function, with attention to mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Methods. Fifty-eight elderly patients (≥65 years old) with chronic tinnitus (≥6 months) were prospectively enrolled in this study. All patients assessed the neurocognitive batteries including the Korean version of the patient health questionnaire-9 (K-PHQ-9), the Lawton instrumental activities of daily living scale (K-IADL), and the Montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA-K). After initial evaluation to exclude moderate or severe cognitive impairment by a psychiatrist, the patients were classified into two groups: MCI and non-MCI, according to the MoCA-K scores (cutoff value, 22/23). All patients underwent audiological examinations including psychoacoustic tests of tinnitus. Results. Of 58 patients, 10 (17.2%) met the MCI criteria. The tinnitus handicap inventory (THI) score in the MCI group was significantly higher than that in the non-MCI group. Based on multivariate regression analysis, a significant association between tinnitus severity and MoCA-K score was also detected. Specifically, bothersome tinnitus (THI score ≥30) was closely linked to the presence of MCI. Meanwhile, the impact of MCI on both K-PHQ-9 and K-IADL scores was not evident in patients with chronic tinnitus. Conclusion. Tinnitus severity appears to be a potential independent determinant for predicting the MCI, suggesting the underlying mechanism between chronic tinnitus and cognitive deficit. Given that MCI highly links to dementia, the evaluation of cognitive functions in aged patients with chronic tinnitus need to be considered at the initial assessment of tinnitus.

        The purpose of this study was to develop the system in order to train up youth soccer players. The study provides a great system for training skillful players. It also aims to offer the long term method for training up youth players with special needs to learn new skills, build physical fitness and self esteem. Professional teams should build up kids and youth soccer teams to produce good players. They should have more Interest in the youth soccer team which has lots of different levels according to age. The professional teams can provide an opportunity to continue development at each age group to reach the highest level possible under the guidance of highly qualified coaches. Therefore optimizing performance of the player at each level proving the highest potential in the age group(16-18). In order to produce the best young players, the youth soccer team must be managed by a professional team. The way matches are played between school teams should also be changed from tournament style play to the league system(this would put emphasis back on study). Thus I would like to suggest the following factors: First, school as well as professional teams should manage youth soccer teams. Second, at least until 16, the youth player should take part in "gular classes"ike ordinary students. They should only train after school and not in "p-Sook"intensive soccer training camp). The training camps must be established only in summer or winter vacation. Third, we should increase the number of local games and reduce national tournament games. The number of games should be evenly distributed on Saturdays or on Sundays by local leagues. Fourth, Acceptance to higher level of play such as high school or university should not depend on the winning and losing record of the team. This system must be changed to individual peformance of the player. Fifth, we have to provide more opportunities for school soccer teams to play against youth soccer teams which are managed by professional teams to raise the level of skills and competition. These factors as I mentioned can improve our school soccer system. We should form a youth soccer federation so this federation can organize matches between teams and manage them. It is helpful to the youth players to acquire new skills as well as to build their physical fitness. The league system should be formed according to the age. It is very useful to train the good young players.

        The purpose of this study in to analyze hoe the physical activity of old adults influences on the mental health. The Simple Mental Testing was parcticed for the 100 of physical players and 60 of non-physical palyers, the total of 160, above 60 years old who live in the city of K. After that, we made a conclusion as the following; 1. When we compared the mental health of physical players with those of non-physical players, the physical activity of old physical players were certainly better than those of non-physical players in the field of somatization, fear, depression and anxiety. So, the physical activity had a good effect on the mental health of old adults. 2. When we analyzed the mental health according to the time of the physical activity, old physical players who exercised over 30 minutes were certainly better than those who did under 30 minutes in the field of somatization, fear, depression and anxiety. 3. When we analyzed the mental health according to the frequency in the physical activity, old physical players who exercised more than three times a week were better than those who did below three times a week in the field of somatization, depression and anxiety. 4. When we analyzed the mental health according to the period of the physical activity, old physical players who exercised over one year were better than those who did under one year in the field of somatization, fear, depression and indignation.

        전산유체역학을 통한 간척지 내 벤로형 온실의 자연환기량 분석

        Recently, the Korean government announced a new development plan for a large-scale greenhouse complex in reclaimed lands. Wind environments of reclaimed land are entirely different from those of inland. Many standard books for ventilation design didn't include qualitative standard for natural ventilation. In this study, natural ventilation rates were analyzed to suggest standard for ventilation design of venlo type greenhouse built on reclaimed land. CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation models were designed according to the number of spans, wind conditions and vent openings. The wind profile at a reclaimed land was designed using ESDU (Engineering Sciences Data Unit) code. Using the designed CFD simulation model, ventilation rates were computed using mass flow rate and tracer gas decay method. Additionally computed natural ventilation rates were evaluated by comparing with ventilation requirements. As a result of this study, ventilation rates were decreased with increasing of the number of spans. Ventilation rates were linearly increased with increasing of wind speed. When the wind speed was $1.0\;m{\cdot}s^{-1}$, only side vent was open and wind direction was $45^{\circ}$, homogeneity of ventilation rate at 0~1 m height is the worst. Finally, chart for computing natural ventilation rate was suggested. The chart was expected to be used for establishing standard of ventilation design.

        지반의 불균질성을 고려한 GPR 신호의 자동탐지모델 성능 비교

        Pipelines are buried in urban area, and the position (depth and orientation) of buried pipeline should be clearly identified before ground excavation. Although various geophysical methods can be used to detect the buried pipeline, it is not easy to identify the exact information of pipeline due to heterogeneous ground condition. Among various non-destructive geo-exploration methods, ground penetration radar (GPR) can explore the ground subsurface rapidly with relatively low cost compared to other exploration methods. However, the exploration data obtained from GPR requires considerable experiences because interpretation is not intuitive. Recently, researches on automated detection technology for GPR data using deep learning have been conducted. However, the lack of GPR data which is essential for training makes it difficult to build up the reliable detection model. To overcome this problem, we conducted a preliminary study to improve the performance of the detection model using finite difference time domain (FDTD)-based numerical analysis. Firstly, numerical analysis was performed with homogeneous soil media having single permittivity. In case of heterogeneous ground, numerical analysis was performed considering the ground heterogeneity using fractal technique. Secondly, deep learning was carried out using convolutional neural network. Detection Model-A is trained with data set obtained from homogeneous ground. And, detection Model-B is trained with data set obtained from homogeneous ground and heterogeneous ground. As a result, it is found that the detection Model-B which is trained including heterogeneous ground shows better performance than detection Model-A. It indicates the ground heterogeneity should be considered to increase the performance of automated detection model for GPR exploration. 도심지에는 많은 지중 매설관이 설치되어 있으며, 이러한 지중 관로의 위치(깊이, 방향 등)은 굴착을 수행하기 전에 특정 되어야 한다. 지중 매설관을 탐지하기 위해 다양한 지구물리학적인 방법을 사용할 수 있으나, 지반의 불균질성으로 인해 정확한 위치정보를 파악하는 것은 어렵다. 다양한 비파괴 탐사 방법 중 GPR (ground penetrating radar)는 고속으로 실험이 가능하며, 다른 탐사 방법에 비해 상대적으로 저렴한 탐사비용 등의 장점을 갖는다. 그러나 GPR의 탐사 데이터는 해석이 직관적이지 않아 상당한 전문적 지식이 요구된다. 최근 딥러닝을 이용한 탐사 데이터의 자동판독 기술에 대한 연구가 증가하고 있으나, 매설물의 위치를 정확히 알고 있는 탐사 데이터가 부족하여 학습모델 구축에 어려움이 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 FDTD (finite difference time domain)수치해석을 통해 해결하고 자동탐지 학습 모델의 성능을 향상시키기 위한 기초연구를 수행하였다. 첫째, 단일유전율로 구성된 균질지반을 구성하고 해석을 수행하였다. 불균질 지반의 경우 프랙탈 기법을 이용하여 모델을 구성하고 해석을 수행하였다. 둘째, 합성곱 신경망을 이용하여 딥러닝 학습을 수행하였다. Model-A는 균질 지반 해석 데이터만 이용하여 학습을 수행하였으며, Model-B는 균질 및 불균질 지반 해석 데이터를 이용하여 학습을 수행하였다. 그 결과 Model-B가 Model-A보다 탐지성능이 우수한 것을 확인하였다. 이는 자동탐지 모델의 학습 시, 지반의 불균질성을 포함하여 학습을 수행하면 탐지 모델의 성능이 개선됨을 의미한다.

        慶尙南道 咸陽地方에서의 主要精神疾患에 대한 疫學調査

        The author studied the prevalence of major mental disorders (Schizophrenia, Manic depressive illness, Epilepsy, General paresis, Mental retardation and others) in Byung-Gock and Back-Jeon Myun, Ham-Yang Kun, Kyung-Nam, Korea which were populated by 12,466 persons, by the Intensive Census Visit Method from Jul. 1st, 1974 to 30th, 1974. The results were as follows; 1. The general prevalences were 0.26% for schizophrenia, 0.02% for manic depressive illness, 0.15% for epilepsy, 0.08% for mental retardation, 0.02% for others and 0.53% for all mental major disorders. 2. The age of onset of each disorder was largely coincident with the range of age of suspectibility suggested previously in other countries. 3. The correlated prevalences obtained from Weinberg's abridged method were 0.67%(the range of susceptibility; 16-40) for schizophrenia, 0.05%(the range of susceptibility: 16-50 or 21-50) for manic depressixe illness, 0.25% (the range of susceptibility: 5-30) for epilepsy. 4. The duration of disorders are more than 5 years in 66.67% of major psychoses. 5. Family mental illness history was revealed in 30.30% of all these patients. 6. Premorbid personality deviation was confirmed in 37.88% of them. 7. The kinds of treatments received by the most of all patients were either superstitious, shamanistic or herb drugs and only 21.21% of the patients has treated at general practitioners' clinic. Only one of them had history of psychiatric specialist's therapy.8. Education level, marital status and religious state does not seen any relationship with the precipitating causes of this major mental disorders.
