Fabric extraction force measured through nozzle tester reflects a comprehensive fabric handle. Nozzle tester takes advantage of low cost, and simple and fast operating procedure compared with KES system. The paper is to develop the semi-emprical equation for assessment of the fabric handle measured with nozzle tester on the basis of friction law. The variables considered in the equation are fabric`s frictional coefficient and drape coefficient which is determined in terms of fabric bending length and shear strain. The experiment of 12 different cotton and polyester fabrics and comparisons between experimental and theoretical results were conducted. Fabrics of high frictional coefficients, high bending length, and low shear strain showed high fabric handle forces (low handle values). The handle forces predicted from the equation agreed well with those measured, which indicates that the equation can be used to objectively evaluate fabric handle with respect to fabric`s own properties and also provide an information for fabric design to improve the handle performance.

Optimal design of shell and tube heat exchanger system with the working fluids which may condense outside the tubes has been carried out under specified inlet and outlet conditions. Independent variables such as number of parallel series, tube diameter, distribution pitch, tube side pressure loss, baffle cut and shell side pressure loss as well as dependent variables such as shell diameter, number of tubes, number of serial series and number of baffles were all characterized according to the standard. Exhaustive search method was used to construct a computer program together with the calculation of heat transfer rate by LMTD method. stress analysis of maj or parts was made to examine their dimensions satisfying heat transfer and pressure loss requirements. Cost estimation based on the installation, operation and maintenance was also made, A few representative variables, heat transfer area, shell diameter and pressure loss, were used to express cost function, finally giving the optimal selection of all tentative solutions.

The previous studies indicated that the indoor environment condition affect on performance at rooms. But, it was uncertain whether subjects were exposed in enough time or not because the studies were conducted in 50~300min exposure time. So, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the increase in the subjects' performance with the ventilation change and exposure time. Three groups of 8 subjects were each exposed to an outdoor airflow of 5, 10 or 20L/s per person while other environmental variations were controlled. Also the subjects were exposed in 480min and performed 7 types of work such as addition, reaction, judgement. As a result, IAQ improvement increased performance with the ventilation. And performance increased highly when 150~330min exposure time but, the increasement of performance at the 480min exposure time is lower than those at 150~330min exposure time.

This experiment, was carried out to determine the effect of glycerol and/or DMSO addition to semen diluents on the motility and survival of boar spermatozoa before and after freezing. 1. There were found no significant effects on motilitynd survival of pre-frozen boar spermatozoa by glycerol and/or DMSO addition. 2. Glycerol addition of 1 to 4 resulted in the significant (P$lt;0.01) improvement in sperm motility or survival after freezing and thawing. 3. DMSO addition of/to 4% did not show any improvement in sperm motility or survival after freezing and thawing. 4. Both 2% glycerol and 2% DMSO addition resulted in the best motility and survival of boar sperm after thawing, and 4% glycerol and 4% DMSO showed the lowest results.
