Effects of Participation in a Summer Sports Camp on At-Risk Boys:A Self-Determination Theory Perspective

To date, research has rarely focused how a summer camp influences at-risk boys’ motivation and physical activity through a self-determination theory. This study examined changes of motivational and physical measures among at-risk boys participating in a summer sports camp. One hundred at-risk boys, aged 10-13 years, participated in a three week camp session. Two questionnaires and an endurance activity were completed by the boys as pre and post-tests. Results revealed amotivation increased and intrinsic regulation decreased across the camp session. Also, the boys’ endurance performance did not significantly change across the camp period. Findings suggest programs allowing more camper-centered choices and de-emphasizing competition may promote increased motivation and physical performance of at-risk boys.

대학교양체육활동에서 학생들이 인식한 심리적 욕구, 내적동기, 체육활동 지속성 간의 구조적 인과관계

This study aims to investigate the structural causal relationships between psychological needs(autonomy, competence, relatedness), intrinsic motivation, and physical activity continuity perceived by students participating in university physical education. Participants consisted of a total of 205 students(Male=121, Female=84, 1-4 grades, Mage=22.3) who participated in university physical education classes such as tennis, bowling, badminton, golf, and yoga during one semester at two universities in a metropolitan city. The students filled out three questionnaires at the end of one semester, and the collected data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling(SEM). The study results revealed the structural causal relationship between competence, intrinsic motivation, and physical activity continuity was a suitable model at a statistically significant level. The findings suggest that the use of teaching methods and strategies that can enhance the students' competence and intrinsic motivation in university physical education classes can be a useful tool to lead to their physically active and healthy lifestyles during out of school and leisure times. 본 연구는 대학교양체육활동에 참여한 학생들이 인식한 심리적 욕구(자율성, 유능성, 관계성), 내적 동기, 체육활동 지속성 간의 구조적 인과관계 규명을 목적으로 한다. 연구 참가자는 A 광역시에 소재한 2개 대학에서 한 학기 동안 테니스, 볼링, 배드민턴, 골프, 요가 등 대학교양체육수업에 참여한 총 205명의 학생(남 =121, 여=84; 1-4학년; 평균나이=22.3)들로 구성되었다. 학생들은 학기 말에 3개의 설문지를 작성하였고, 수집된 자료는 SEM(Structural Equation Modeling)을 이용하여 분석되었다. 연구 결과에서 학생들의 유능성, 내적 동기, 체육활동 지속성 간의 구조적 인과관계가 통계적으로 유의한 수준에서 적합한 모델인 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구 결과는 대학교양체육수업에서 학생들의 유능성과 내적 동기를 향상시킬 수 있는 교수방법과 전략을 활용하는 것이 방과 후 시간 및 여가 시간에 신체활동적인 생활 방식과 건강을 증진시킬 수 있는 유용한 수단이 될 수 있음을 시사하였다.

대학교양체육수업 경험을 통한 학생들의 자아인식과 변화과정 탐색

본 연구목적은 대학교양체육수업에서 학생들이 수업활동 수행 및 환경과 관련되어 느끼고 경험한 자아인식과 변화과정을 질적 연구방법으로 탐색하는데 있다. 연구대상은 A도에 위치한 한 대학에서 한 학기 동안 볼링 수업에 참여한 10명의 학생을 포함하며, 자료 수집은 한 학기 동안 학생들이 매주 작성한 자기일기(Journal)와 학기 종료 전 연구자가 실시한 심층 면담을 바탕으로 이루어졌다. 수집된 자료는 지속적 비교분석방법(Constant Comparative Method)을 사 용하여 연구결과를 도출하였고, 결과는 학생들의 자아인식과 그 변화과정에 기초하여 5개의 대주제인 (1)발전 가능성, (2)적응과 도전, (3)자신의 역량 인식, (4)자기 분석, (5)개인적 성과로 분류되어 그 의미를 부여하였다. 학생들은 전반적 으로 자신의 수행 향상과 사회적 환경으로의 적응과 관련하여 자아인식을 내면화하였고, 자신의 기술 수준 향상과 원만한 수업환경으로의 적응을 위해서는 동료와의 의사소통 및 정보교환 그리그 자신의 노력과 연습 등의 중요성을 강조하였다. 또한 교수자의 효율적이고 구체적인 학습 단서와 피드백 그리고 적극적인 지도가 자신의 수행력과 긍정적 자아인식을 제고하는데 있어 결정적 역할을 한다고 표출하였다. The purpose of this study was to explore the self-awareness and change process that students perceived and experienced in relation to their performances and environments in university physical education classes through a qualitative research method. Participants consisted of 10 students who took part in bowling activity at a university located at A-do for one semester. Data collection included students’ self-journals per week and in-depth interview at the end of the semester. Collected data were analyzed by a constant comparative method and the results came up with 5 big themes based on the self-awareness and change process as follows: (1)development potential, (2)adaptation and challenge, (3)perception on selfcompetence, (4)self-analysis, (5)personal outcomes. The results indicated that students generally perceived the self-awareness in relation to their performance improvement and the adaptation to social environments and emphasized the importance of communications and exchanges of information with peers, self-effort, and self-practice to enhance the performance and to smoothly adjust to class environments. Additionally, they expressed that effective and detailed information and active instruction from a teacher can play an important role in improving performance and shaping positive self-awareness.

모피 동물 ‘족제비’와 ‘삵’의 어원과 어휘사

본고에서는 모피를 생산하는 동물의 명칭인 ‘족제비’와 ‘삵’에 대해 문증되는 시기 내의 어휘사를 개괄하고 어원을 탐색하였다. ‘족제비’는 문헌에서 ‘죡져비’로 처음 나타나는데, 한반도 북부를 중심으로 널리 분포하는 ‘족제피’ 등의 어형을 참고하면 이를 퉁구스계 언어에서 차용한 *čokčɪ ‘족제비’에 한자어 皮 ‘가죽’이 연결된 형태로 파악할 수 있다. 이에 대해 음운론적 설명뿐 아니라 차용이 일어났을 만한 역사적인 정황을 제시하였다. 또한 ‘삵’의 최초 문증 형태 ‘’은 대부분의 문헌에서 일관적으로 狸에 대응되나, 그 지시 대상은 오늘날의 살쾡이보다 넓었을 가능성을 제기하였다. 한편 ‘삵’의 어원은 확정할 수 없지만 한국어 안팎으로 개연적인 비교 대상을 검토하 였고, 이 과정에서 문헌상의 난해어 몇 가지에 대한 해석도 제안하였다. Focusing on two Korean names of furbearing animals, namely cwokceypi ‘weasel, polecat’ and salk ‘leopard cat, wildcat’, this paper aims to describe their lexical histories in old written materials and modern dialectal variations, and to further investigate their ultimate etymology. cwokceypi is first attested in the 17 th century as cywokcyepi, whose origin can be traced back to a borrowing from Tungusic (Udegheic to be specific) *čokčɪ ‘weasel’ suffixed with a Sino-Korean element –p(h)i (皮) ‘skin, leather, hide, fur.’ This hypothesis is supported both by the northern dialectal forms with –phi and by the historical fact that the 15 th -16 th centuries was a period of thriving fur trade between the Korean people and their Tungusic-speaking (“Jurchen”) neighbors in the north. Meanwhile, Middle Korean solk (>salk) generally corresponds to Classical Chinese li (狸), but its referent may have been wider than that of Contemporary Korean, ranging from leopard cats to raccoon dogs and perhaps even weasels in earlier times. Deeper etymology of solk is not so clear, although both external and internal hypotheses of origin are examined in this paper.

This paper mainly studies the extraction procedure of attitude-adjectives, se mantic-relations between attitude-adjectives and co-occurrence nouns and their syntactic functions. Firstly, Attitude-adjectives can be extracted from CCL corp us through three programs such as classification, determining categories and do mains. Secondly, there are three semantic relations between attitude-adjectives and co-occurrence nouns, which are inherent property-values and property-carri ers, inherent property-values and property-monitors, inherent property-values and inherent property-domains. Finally, attitude-adjectives are introduced the f our syntactic functions as predicate, attributive, adverbial and complement. In addition, constructions of noun + attitude-adjectives are described one function as adverbial.
