DCT/DPCM 복합 감축방식(hybrid coding)에서 주요 시스템 변수에 따른 성능 변화가 평균 자승오차와 주관검사(subjective test)를 기준으로 해서 연구되었다. 검토된 시스템 변수는 DCT 변환계수의 예측상수, 블록 양자기의 평준화 계수 및 비트배정등이다. 그리고 적응식 감축방식의 특성도 비교 검토되었다. 실험결과로는 영상의 공분체 모델을 근거로 하는 비트 기정 및 적응방식이 실시간 처리에 편리할 뿐만 아니라, 낮은 비트율에서는 매우 유리한 방법임이 확인되었다. The performance of an intra-frame DCT/DPCM hybrid coding is investigated with the criteria of normalized mean square error and subjective test for various system parameters. It includes the prediction coefficient in transform domain, normalization factor and bit-map in block quantizer, and adaptive coding. It is shown that the generalized covariance model of image is a convenient tool for bit-map and adaptive coding, and for a fast low bit-rate coding.

As the ICT is an industry which is the basis of the technology convergence, it is the driving force of development for new business opportunities and existing industries. But, most of the existing studies for ICT convergence have identified the trend for convergence in technological terms. So, it is difficult to identify the convergence trend in the subject innovation perspective which leads the innovation activities In the ICT industry. The newly entered companies in the ICT industry are key indicators to identify the convergence trend. They have two specific characteristics that show the wide range of the convergence technology and the application rate of the convergence. Because previous studies did not take into account these two characteristics of the newly entered companies, so it is hard to analyze the exact convergence trend. Therefore, in this paper, we classify the patents for the ICT industry depending on the subject innovation. Then, we deduct the core convergence technology in the ICT industries and application area of the non-ICT industries.

One of the most important techniques utilized in the maintenance of existing structures is structural health monitoring. Innovative and sensitive sensors as well as real-time measurement systems that can collect more accurate information and evaluate structural performance more explicitly have been developed. Starting from the static equilibrium equation constrained by eigenvectors of stiffness matrix and generalized coordinates, this work presents the optimal sensor placement (OSP) algorithms of D-1 and D-2 algorithms as direct method, FIM-based approach, EI-based algorithm, and the orthogonalization methods using Gran-Schmidt orthgonalization and proper orthogonal decomposition. The validity of the proposed methods is illustrated in a truss structure. The FIM-based approach, EI-based algorithm, and EV-based approach indicated similar sensor locations along the entire span. It is analyzed that the difference of the OSPs comes from the establishment of different weighting matrices, numerical approximation, and the numerically inappreciable difference during the iteration.
