초음파에 의한 Polystyrene 미세구의 입도 조절

초음파를 조사하면서 계면활성제로 polyvinylpyrrolidone으 사용하여 emulsion polymerization에 의한 polystyrene 미세구 제조 연구로, 교반속도, 계면활성제의 양, 초음파 조사 시간 및 가교제의 첨가량이 polystyrene 미세구의 입도 크기에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. Polystyrene 입도는 교반 속도, 계면활성제의 양과 초음파 조사 기간의 증가에 따라 감소함을 알 수 있었다. 특히 초음파 조사를 하지 않았을 때 polystyrene 미세구의 입도가 3 ㎛이었으나 조사 시간이 1 min에서 10 min으로 증가할수록 입도는 2 ㎛에서 1 ㎛까지 크게 감소함을 확인할 수 있었다. With ultrasonic sonication, polystyrene microspheres were prepared by emulsion polymerization in the presence of surfactant, polyvinypyrrolidone. The influence of various reaction parameters--such as speed of mechanical stirrer, amount of surfactant and crosslinking-agent, and the sonication time--on the particle size of the polystyrene microspheres formed was investigated. It was found that the particle size decreased as the rate of mechanical stirring, amount of surfactant and sonication time increased. In particular, the particle size of the polystyrene microspheres decreased from 2 to 1 ㎛ as the sonication time was increased from 1 to 10 min, however, the particle size without the ultrasound irradiation was 3 ㎛.

The process for the preparation of fungicide propineb starting with 1,2-diaminopropane was studied on the optimal condition base. Side reaction producing toxic material 1,2-propylenethiourea could be reduced effectively by using phase transfer catalyst and the product was noticed to show a great improvement in yield and purity. Especially when the phase transfer catalyst tetraphenylphosphonium bromide is used, the yield and the purity of the product were found to be best with up to 95 and 96% respectively and the byproduct content was shown within 1.7%. Also, the contents of wetting agent AES and dispersing agent APS were optimally chosen 3.1~4.0% and 4.0% ~ 5.0% respectively for the improvement of suspensibility and wettability of Propineb WP.

Hollow silica microspheres have been prepared by sacrificial core method, in which the polystyrene microspheres are coated with silica thereby hydrolysis of TEOS in the presence of ammonia and water, and subsequently removed by thermodecomposition. Thickness of hollow silica microsphere can be increased by the repeated coating with TEOS.

실리카 중공 미세구는 의약 및 농약 분야에서 기능성 물질의 캡슐화 공정 등에서 관심의 대상이 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 고분자 핵인 polystyrene 미세구에 tetraethoxy silane의 가수분해와 축합 반응에 의해 생성되는 실리카 입자를 코팅한 후, 내부의 핵을 제거하는 sacrificial core법으로 실리카 중공 미세구를 제조하고자 하였으며, 실험결과, 물 4.0%, TEOS 5.0%, 촉매 2.0% 이상의 조건에서 생성된 실리카 미립자의 코팅이 이루어져 실리카 중공 미세구의 제조가 가능하였다. Hollow silica microspheres has aroused great interests for its various applications in the field of capsulation of mdicinal drugs and agricultural chemicals. In this study, hollow silica microsperes were synthesized by sacrificial core method for which silica particles of nanosize generated by tetraethoxy silane hydrolysis and condensation are coated on the surfaces of polystyene microspheres. As the experimental results, hollow silica microsphere was stably prepared when synthesized with mixing more than 4.0%, 5.0% of tetraethoxy silane and 2.0% of catalyst.
황산암모늄 열 분해에 의한 폐 알칼리전지 중의 Mn 성분의 추출

A reaction between the solid electrolyte in the spent alkaline batteries and (NH₄)₂SO₄ was carried out to find a new process for the extraction of Mn component from the spent alkaline batteries. The maximum extraction, 97.1%, was achieved when the reaction temperature was 400℃, the weight ratio of (NH₄)₂SO₄ to the solid electrolyte in the spent alkaline batteries was 16.0 and the reaction time was 180 minutes.
Polystyrene 을 사용한 실리카 중공미세구 제조

Polystyrene microspheres were prepared by dispersion polymerization of styrene in a mixture of ethanol and 2-methoxyethanol in the presence of surfactant, polyvinylpyrrolydone, at 73℃ under N₂ and were coated with tetraethoxy silicate using ammonium hydroxide as a catalyst at room temperature. The effects of surfactants, the stirring rate and the polymerization time on the morphology, size and size distribution were inspected.

A reaction between the depolarizing mixture in the spent manganese batteries and (NH₄)₂SO₄ was carried out to find a new process for the extraction of Mn component from the spent manganese batteries. The optimum conditions were as follows : the reaction temperature 425℃, (NH₄)₂SO₄ weight ratio to the depolarizing mix in the spent manganese batteries 12.0, reaction time 60min. Under above conditions manganese was extracted 93.5%.
