Clear overlapping of the bilateral epicondyle and proper separation of the elbow joint are crucial for obtaining accurate lateral general radiographs of the elbow. However, due to the complex anatomical structure of the elbow, achieving optimal positioning is challenging, leading to the need for repeated x-ray examinations. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the angle of the forearm in patients where accurate lateral images of the elbow joint can't be obtained after vertical incidence using a styrofoam device during elbow joint lateral x-ray imaging. Twenty patients were enrolled in our study following the established protocol. First, a vertical x-ray at an angle of 0° between the forearm and the table was taken (control group). Here, if the lateral image of the elbow joint was deemed inadequate, the forearm angle was adjusted using custom-made styrofoam supports with 5° and 10° inclinations (experimental groups). For the evaluation method, two assessors utilized a 5-point Likert scale to assess the images. The reliability of the assessments was analyzed using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. As a result, patients with inadequate overlap of the bilateral epicondyle and separation of the elbow joint in the initial examination (control group) were able to obtain the best images when setting a 10° angle between the forearm and the table. The subjective evaluation was 1.6 ± 0.8 points at 0°, 2.7 ± 0.8 points at 5°, and 4.4 ± 1.3 points at 10°, respectively. The reliability analysis for the angles of 0°, 5°, and 10° yielded Cronbach's alpha values of 0.867, 0.697, and 0.922, respectively. In conclusion, when it is not possible to obtain accurate images using the conventional position and X-ray beam direction, it is considered that by initially acquiring images with an angle of 10° between the forearm and the table, and gradually decreasing the angle while obtaining images, it would be possible to achieve the optimal image while reducing the number of repeat examinations.

영어 보문소의 특성과 동사유형별 보문구조

The object of this subject is to indicate the critical point of formal analyses about complement phenomena in English and to explain more persuasively about complement structures in English by introducing technical analysis methods. Chap. 2 indicates the examination of precedence study about complements and point at issue. Chap. 3 examines the semantic properties of complementizers regarded as meaningless till now based on the theories of Wiezbicker(1988), Driven(1989) and Dixon(1984) and so on. Chap. 4 explains semantic differences in case a predicate has two complementizers or over and the fact that meanings are different if forms are different. But this paper cannot explain the reason why some complementizers can be combined because of some features of verbs or why there are sementic differences according to types of complements. This is because this paper intends to explain complement structures with only the semantic features of verbs.

간호 대학생들의 영어 어휘학습전략 사용연구

본 연구의 목적은 간호 대학생들의 영어 어휘학습 전략을 검토하고 학습자의 성별, 영어 학점 수준 및 선호도에 따른 어휘학습 전략의 차이점을 조사하는 것이다. 이를 위해 2017년 11월 24일부터 12월 1일까지 간호 대학교 1학년 재학생 157명(남학생 22명, 여학생 135명)을 대상으로 영어 학점 수준별로 3개 그룹으로 나누고 어휘공략 선호도, 어휘기억 선호도, 어휘활용 선호도를 수준별로 나누어 연구하였다. 분석방법은 t-검정과 영어 어휘학습 선호도 비교는 일원배치 분석을 실시하였고 사후분석으로 Scheffe’s 검정방법을 이용하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 간호 대학생들이 가장 많이 사용하는 전략은 기억강화 전략 중 인지 전략이었다. 그 뒤로 의미발견 전략 중 결정 전략, 기억강화 전략 중 기억 전략 순이다. 둘째, 남녀 간의 영어 어휘학습 전략의 사용에는 큰 차이가 없다. 셋째, A학점을 받은 영어 학습자가 C학점을 받은 영어 학습자보다 영어 어휘학습 전략을 더 적극적이고 많이 사용하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 수준별, 선호도에 맞춘 영어 어휘학습 전략은 참여자들이 학습목표에 보다 용이하고 효율적으로 도달하도록 도움을 줄 것이다. The intent of the present study is to examine English vocabulary learning strategies of nursing college students and to investigate the differences in the use of English vocabulary learning strategies by learners’ gender, level of English GPA and level preference. A questionnaire was done with 157 (male 22, female 135) who divided into three groups by their level of English GPA. t-test and one way ANOVA is used. The results of study are as follows. First, Cognitive strategy is the most frequently used. Second, no significant difference was found in the use of English vocabulary learning strategies between male and female. Third, There appeared to be significant differences in vocabulary learning strategies among the three levels of English achievement. Students who received ‘A’ credits show higher strategy use than students who receive ‘C’. The implication is that students English academic achievement levels and their level preference are connected with their vocabulary learning strategy uses.

5・18 기념사업의 새로운 패러다임: 5・18 문화콘텐츠 생산과 민주시민교육 활용

코로나19 팬데믹은 제4차 산업혁명 그리고 개인화 경향과 맞물려 2020년 이후 5・18민주화운동의 기념사업에 많은 영향을 미칠 것이다. 이 논문은 이 기념사업에 유형・무형 5・18자원의 원형보존 원칙에 기초한 시민참여형 문화콘텐츠 구축과 민주시민교육 활용을 제의한다. 연구방법으로 2016년 발표된 제1차 기본계획에 소개된 여론조사방법과 결과를 고찰하고, 그 한계와 문제점을 지적한다. 다음 비대면 환경에 적합한 새로운 기본계획 요소로서 5・18 연구결과물과 사료를 문화콘텐츠로 생산하여 각 단체가 시행할 민주시민교육 프로그램 개발과 운영 과정에 활용할 것을 제의한다. 5・18기념사업은 지난 40년 동안 숭고한 역사를 기념하는데 주안을 두었지만, 이제는 민주와 공동체 정신의 계승을 실체화해야 하는 과제를 가지고 있다. 이 연구는 5・18 기념사업의 세부분야인 학술・문화, 교육・홍보, 교류・연대사업에 새로운 동기를 부여할 것이고, 미흡했던 전국화와 세계화에도 기여할 것이다. The COVID 19 pandemic, interconnected with the 4th industrial revolution and the tendency of individualization, is supposed to give a lot of effect on the commemoration work of the 5・18 democratization movement after 2020. This paper, to this work of commemoration, suggests establishing the cultural contents emphasizing citizens’ participation and making use of democratic education based on the principle of preserving the original state of tangible and intangible resources. As a research method, I observe the polling process and its results introduced in the first master plan announced in 2016 and point at its limits and problems. Next, it is recommended, for the components of the new primary plan suitable for the untact environment, that the managers should produce the cultural contents by using the 5・18 research results and the historic material, developing the programs of the civic education for each organization to run, and utilizing them in the operation of them. The 5・18 commemoration project, focused on memorializing the noble history for the last 40 years, has a tougher task to substantialize the succession of the democratic and community spirit. This study is expected to provide an innovative motive to the specific fields, such as academic and cultural, educational and promotional, exchange and solidarity department, and contribute to the insufficient nationalization and globalization.

공영형 사립대학 제도의 지역균형발전 효과로 본 도입 타당성

Korea shows overcrowding in the capital zone and hollowing out in the other provinces. The young people of this country, meaning the essential capital, are coming in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. I argue that the main reason of this phenomenon is the polarization of competitiveness of universities, especially private ones, over 80 percent of the whole higher education institutes. This paper traces back the culture of university education, which reveals that the abnormal dependence on private universities without much emphasis on the publicness of the higher education. This condition says that the conservative idea that the Government cannot sponsor certain private schools because they should be fundamentally responsible for their finance. The second chapter observes the beginning, duration, and the expected effect of the educational system in the light of the previous research, and the third illuminates the difference between the characterization policy and this system in terms of the balanced development of the local society and the whole nation. This study is intended to suggest the reasonable topic to discuss with a view to defining the principle of this system and vitalizing the slow rate of progress.

공무원 취업 준비생들의 영어 학습동기

The purpose of this study was to examine English learning motivations of public official job-seekers and to investigate differences in learning motivations in terms of the participants’gender and their English proficiency. This research was done with 177 public official job-seekers(male 84, female 93) who were divided into groups of higher level and lower level by recent practice test. The English Learning Motivation Survey(ELMS) was administrated to all subjects. for analyzing the data. descriptive statistics and t-test were employed. The findings of the study indicated that extrinsic motivation appeared to be the strongest motivation among the six motivations, followed by learning belief motivation, need for task-value, self-efficacy, intrinsic motivation and test anxiety in that order. It was also found that female public official job-seekers tended to have stronger motivation than male public official job-seekers by showing that the higher mean scores of extrinsic motivation. There were significant differences between participants of low and high English proficiency on motivations. Job-seekers with high proficiency tended to have a stronger learning motivations. Some implications based on the study findings were suggested. 본 연구의 목적은 공무원 취업 준비생들의 영어 학습동기에 대해 조사하고, 성별, 영어 수준별에 따른 영어 학습동기의 차이를 분석하는 것이다. 이 연구의 참여자는 177명(남 84명, 여 93명)이었으며, 최근 모의고사 성적에 따라 상, 하 두 집단으로 분리하였다. 영어 학습 동기에 관한 설문지는 영어 학습동기 척도(English Learning Motivation Survey)를 사용하였으며, 자료 분석을 위해 통계처리와 t –test를 실시하였다. 위의 연구 결과를 토대로 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 영어 학습에 있어서 여섯 가지 학습동기 중 에서 공무원 취업 준비생들에게 가장 큰 동기는 외재적 동기인 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 학습 신념, 과제가치, 자기 효능감, 내재적 동기, 시험불안 순서로 나타났다. 성별에 따른 학습동기를 비교해 보았을 때, 외재적 동기만이 남자공무원 취업준비생들과 여자공무원 취업 준비생들 간의 차이가 통계적으로 유의수준이며, 공무원 취업 준비 중인 여자 취업 준비생들이 남자 취업 준비생들보다 높게 나타났다. 영어수준별 학습 동기는 영어 수준별 차이에 효과적인 영향을 미치고 있다. 여섯 가지 동기 중에서 시험불안을 제외한 모든 동기에 있어서 영어 학습 수준이 높은 공무원 취업 준비생의 평균점이 높은 것으로 나타났다.

미국 장애아동법 고찰에서 심리운동의 융합성 대안으로

미국의 장애아동법은 한국의 특수교육법과 다르게 체육활동을 의무사항으로 규정하여 신체활동을 통한 심리재활을 유도하고 있다는 점에서 사실상 심리운동을 강제하고 있다. 이 논문은 미국법의 장점을 도입하기 위해서 심리운동의 융합성을 활용한 프로그램을 한국의 특수교육현장에 도입해야 할 필요성을 강조하고 그 근거를 제시한다. 이를 위해서 미국의 장애아동법을 한국의 특수교육법과 비교하고, 체육활동이 주를 이루고 있는 심리운동을 특수교육 교과과정에 포함해야 할 필요성과 방안을 논한다. 연구결과, 미국 정부는 장애아동의 권익을 보호하기 위해서 초학제 접근법을 도모하는 동시에 체육활동을 의무화하고 있었음을 알 수 있었다. 한국 정부도 이 점을 고려하여 적어도 장애아동의 신체와 정신의 균형적인 건강을 유지하기 위해서 흥미로운 심리운동 프로그램을 개발할 필요가 있음을 강조한다. 또한, 심리운동의 융합적 성격을 통해 의학, 운동학, 심리학, 교육학 등 여러 학문을 융합할 수 있는 제도를 마련해야 한다고 주장한다. 이 연구는 장애아동을 위한 통합과 개인화 교육의 내실을 획기적으로 다질 수 있는 정책적 대안을 제시하는데 의의를 둔다. Unlike the Korean Special Education Act, the U.S. Education for All Handicapped Children Act actually enforces psychomotorik practice in that it stipulates mandatory physical activity and induces psychological rehabilitation through physical activities. This paper emphasizes the need of introducing programs that utilize the convergence of psychomotorik into the Korean special education field and provides its evidence in order to bring in the merit of the U.S. Law. To this end, this research compares the US Education for All Handicapped Children Act with the Korean Special Education Act and presents the necessity and strategy to include psychomotorik, which is dominated by physical activities, in the special education curriculum. As a result of the study, it was found that the U.S. government is promoting the convergence of transdisciplinary approach and mandating physical activities to protect the rights and interests of children with disabilities. Considering this aspect, the researcher stresses that the Korean government also needs to develop interesting psychomotorik programs at least to maintain a balanced health of the body and spirit of children with disabilities. In addition, it is argued that a system should be established to integrate various disciplines such as medicine, kinetics, psychology, and pedagogy through the convergent nature of psychological movement. This study has a significant meaning in suggesting policy alternatives that can dramatically strengthen the internal stability of integrated and individualized education for children with disabilities.

Underdogs of Of Mice and Men on the Stage

John Steinbeck’s novella Of Mice and Men, one of his labor-themed trilogy with In Dubious Battle and The Grapes of Wrath, is well-known for its revision to a playscript. This paper aims to analyze the details made in the revision to reveal the author’s intention and the difference between the two genres of a paper book and stage performance. The second chapter explains the revision process and its effect from paper to stage, and the third one observes the specific aspects of language and context. Through the analysis, the conversion means the useful characterization with richer tonality meaning all the characters’ balanced participation and realistic writing for the audience’s understanding and emotion. To be specific, the revision makes changes in the form, reasonable language for audience’s understanding, refined contents for the public’s emotion, more sincere labor theme with active resistance, sweet sentimentalism by agonizing to the last, and richer tonality of making Curley’s wife the heroine. Lastly, this research is expected to expand the intertextuality between the genres and Steinbeck’s artistry.

공무원 취업 준비생들의 영어 학습전략

The purpose of this study was to examine English learning strategies of public official job-seekers and to investigate differences in learning strategies in terms of the participants’ gender and their English proficiency. This research was done with 177 public official job-seekers (male 84, female 93) who were divided into groups of higher level and lower level by recent practice test. The Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL) was administrated to all subjects. For analyzing the data. descriptive statistics and t-test were employed. The findings of the study indicated that compensatory strategy appeared to be the most used strategy among public official job-seekers, followed by memory, metacognitive, social, affective and cognitive strategy in that order. It was also found that both male and female public official job-seekers showed the higher mean scores on compensation strategies and memory and metacognitive strategy, except affective strategy. There appeared to be a statistically significant correlation between English higher level and the use of compensation strategy. The results showed that public official job-seekers with higher English level tended to use compensation strategy more frequently.

This paper aims to study the aspects of Orientalism in The Quiet American and M. Butterfly so as to reveal the controversial idea remaining in the Western culture. For this purpose, I point at the illusion and reasons of the Orientalism by discussing the triangular relationship between England and America as to Vietnam described as a woman of the street while reading The Quiet American and explain the story of M. Butterfly as an example that the concept of Gender is mixed with Orientalism. In the conclusion, I emphasize that Orientalism should be overcome by separating the Gender issue from it, which is an urgent problem to establish the real world-citizenship.
