SA-DCT 성능 향상을 위한 적응적 1차원 변환 순서선택방법

물체 단위의 동영상 컨텐츠(contents) 저작 부호화를 가능하게 하는 SA-DCT (Shape-Adaptive Discrete Cosine Transform)는 기존의 블록 DCT와는 달리 수평과 수직 방향의 1차원 변환을 수행하는 순서에 따라 서로 다른 변환 결과를 보인다. 변환 대상 블록의 수평과 수직 방향 중 상관 관계가 크거나 변환시 화소의 이동이 작은 방향으로 먼저 1차원 변환을 수행함으로써 최종 2차원 변환된 계수들의 에너지 분포가 DC 계수를 중심으로 보다 집중화 됨을 알 수 있었다. 본 논문에서는 공간 상관도가 높은 방향으로 먼저 1차원 변환을 적용하므로써 보다 높은 에너지 집중화가 이루어짐을 실험적으로 확인한다. 그리고 1차원 변환 방향 순서를 매 블록별로 적응적으로 결정하기 위하여 두가지 방법을 제안한다. 하나의 방법은 주변 블록과 현재 블록의 DC 값들의 경사도를 이용하는 간접적 방법이며, 또다른 방법은 블록의 2차원 변환 데이터를 부호화하여 발생되는 비트수를 비교하는 직접적 방법이다. 제안 방법들을 MPEG-4 동영상 부호화기에 적용하여 모의 실험한 결과, 제안된 적응적 SA-DCT 방법이 기존의 SA-DCT에 비하여 경계 블록에서 최대 10.87%의 부호화 비트 감소 효과가 있음을 알 수 있었다. It's noticed that the SA-DCT (Shape-Adaptive Discrete Cosine Transform) produces different 2-dimensional transform coefficients according as the first 1-dimensional transform is applied in horizontal or vertical direction for an arbitrarily shaped boundary block. Performing the first 1-dimensional transform in the direction, which has higher spatial correlation or smaller shifting distance, can compact the energy on the smaller number of AC coefficients around DC. This paper shows, experimentally, the compaction capability improvement by choosing the first 1-dimensional transform direction with higher spatial correlation or smaller shifting distance. Two adaptive selection methods are proposed to decide efficiently the spatial direction with higher correlation in a boundary block. One is based on the gradients between DC coefficients of neighboring and current blocks, and the other is based on the final coding efficiency that means the number of bits required for coding the block. Using the MPEG-4 video coder, the proposed method shows coding efficiency gain up to 10.87% compared to the conventional SA-DCT method.

본 논문에서는 다단계 양자기를 이용한 wavelet packet 변환 기반 영상의 점진적 전송기법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법에서 각 양자화 단계에서의 양자기는 주어진 비트율에 대해 각각 최적화하였다. 스칼라 양자기와 벡터 양자기를 사용하였고 각각의 성능을 비교하였 다. 양자화 단계후 전송이 결정된 부대역들은 전송을 위해 이들의 중요도에 따라 정렬된다. 또한 인간 시각 시스템(human visual system) 특성을 가중값으로 사용함으로써 주관적인 화질 향상을 얻었다. This paper proposes progressive image transmission(PIT) methods based on the wavelet packet transform, in which quantizers are optimized at each stage for the given bit rate. Scalar and vector quantizers are used and the performance of each quantizer is compared. After quantization, selected subbands are ordered by their priority for transmission. Subjective quality of the reconsetructed image is improved by human visual system (HVS) weighting.

Day-to-day insulin requirements often change due to subtle variations in insulin metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes undergoing hemodialysis. In such cases, intra-hemodialysis hypoglycemia frequently occurs and is a main factor interfering with the delivery of dialysis. As a result, it reduces the quality of life in patients undergoing hemodialysis. The long-acting insulin analogue glargine provides peakless, continuous release over 24 h that approximates a normal basal insulin pattern. Because it has no peak, its use in patients with diabetes undergoing hemodialysis would hypothetically be useful. Specifically, patients would be able to avoid intra-hemodialysis hypoglycemia without the necessity of skipping insulin administration on the day of hemodialysis and achieving adequate glucose control on other days. We recently experienced six cases that switched from treatment with intermediate-acting insulin to a long-acting insulin analogue, which provided better glycemic control by reducing hypoglycemia risk. Limited data are available in the literature concerning insulin analogue usage in patients with diabetes undergoing hemodialysis. Our experience suggests a large-scale prospective investigation is required on this issue. (Korean J Med 2012; 83:647-653)

In this paper, we analyzed the dynamic behavior of magnetic fluid in a circular pipe with multiple permanent magnets. Magnetic fluid react on magnetic field against the normal fluid. In other words, magnetic fluid flow has the electromagnetism and fluid mechanics. So magnetic fluids has studied about the fluids properties and experiment. In this paper we studied the magnetic fluids velocity and pressure distribution for the novel type actuator. Because the velocity and pressure distribution is the important element of the magnetic fluids flow. First, we analyzed the Maxwell equation for the multiple permanent magnet and then concluded the governing equations for the magnetic fluid flow using the equation of Navier-Stokes. And, we simulated the dynamic behavior of magnetic fluid flow using the FEM(Finite Element Method). And we illustrated the relation between magnetic field and dynamic behavior of magnetic fluid flow.

The roll forming machines currently used in industries require manual change of individual rolls taking 30 to 60 minutes of operation shutdown, This in turn reduces the operational efficiency by considerable margin and has one of the major negative effect on the overall productivity. To improve the operational efficiency of the existing roll forming machine, current manual roll changing process needs automatation to save considerable amount of time. In this study, TRIZ is adopted in the development of new roll forming machine. The Ideal Final Result (IFR) was set up initially and the fundamental causes were examined by Root Cause Analysis. The final proposed concept was drawn from the application of 40 invention principles of TRIZ.

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is common primary tumor of kidney. In the past, it had been considered a difficult tumor to manage since the detection was usually delayed until paraneoplastic syndrome and/or distant metastasis appeared due to its slow progression. However, the recent popularization of ultrasound and computed tomography has made RCC one of the easily curable cancers. Eighty percent are found early, mostly with tumor size less than 5 cm. Five-year survival rate after successful nephrectomy is exceeded 80–90 percent. Curative nephrectomy can be tried in stage 1 and 2, and some cases of stage 3. In these cases, return to flight can be considered after 6 to 12 months’ observation. It should be monitored any occurrence of cancer recurrence, need for systemic treatment, metastasis, and paraneoplastic syndrome, etc. If any signs of recurrence are found or new treatment needs to be initiated, the flight should be suspended. If there is no recurrence for more than 5 to 10 years, the patient doesn’t have to be followed anymore.
