Events or festivals are the means that can bring out economic effects in the shortest time among local revitalizations. Therefore, at the national level, attempts to hold events on an international or large scale with cities, provinces, and regions for balanced regional development are increasing. These large-scale events are being used as a means of urban regeneration in underdeveloped areas. Therefore, this study aims to examine the theory of urban marketing through events and to suggest the development direction of the city centering on cases.

The purpose of this study is to understand the concept through consideration of urban communalization and cultural urban regeneration. The case of cultural urban regeneration using domestic cultural assets was used. The results of this study are as follows. Cultural urban regeneration using domestic cultural assets helps to establish regional identity and enhance urban competitiveness. In addition, the classification of cultural urban regeneration types by strategic elements is becoming vague in view of recent trends.

Deaf mutism (a hearing-impaired person and speech disorders) communicates using sign language. There are difficulties in communicating by voice. However, sign language can only be limited in communicating with people who know sign language because everyone doesn’t use sign language when they communicate. In this paper, a finger language translation system is proposed and implemented as a means for the disabled and the nondisabled to communicate without difficulty. The proposed algorithm recognizes the finger language data by leap motion and self-learns the data using machine learning technology to increase recognition rate. We show performance improvement from the simulation results.

In Korea, rapid urbanization since the 1960s has led to a significant increase in the urban population, resulting in a shortage of housing and infrastructure in many urban areas. Consequently, new urban areas have been developed, and the urban footprint has expanded rapidly. However, urban areas are now experiencing a gradual decline in population, compounded by Korea’s current fertility rate of 0.6 as of the year 24, indicating an imminent transition into an ultra-aging society as early as the end of the same year. With the housing supply rate already exceeding 100%, there is a growing societal interest in urban policy strategies that focus on utilizing existing spaces rather than meeting the demand for new ones. Considering idle space as a resource for neighborhood revitalization, this study aims to explore the feasibility and potential of introducing maker spaces in such spaces, which are often challenging to maintain yet possess untapped potential as renewable community resources.
