Application of ordered mesoporous cobalt oxides for CO hydrogenation

CO hydrogenation of syngas derived from the reforming reaction of natural (or shale) gas has been largely investigated for the production of useful petrochemicals such as methanol, dimethyl ether (DME) and clean fuels. To overcome the typical aggregation of impregnated active metals on the irreducible metal oxide supports, we developed new catalytic system having a highly ordered mesoporous structures such as mesoporous Co3O4 or alumina through a simple nanocasting method. Using the ordered mesoporous catalysts, CO hydrogenation reactions such as Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) and direct dimethyl ether (DME) synthesis reaction were separately investigated to stabilize the ordered mesoporous Co3O4 structures and to confirm the effects of spatially confinement of copper nanoparticles.

본 연구에서는 분무체적에 영향을 미치는 분사차압, 주위공기밀도, 노즐공의 직경과 분무각을 변수로 하여 상관관계식을 이론적으로 유도하고 이를 근거로 하여 분 무의 평균공연비 증대를 향상시키는 방안을 제시하였다.
Effects of In and Ga-incorporation in FER frameworks for a gas-phase DME carbonylation reaction

Zeolites are promising materials in the industrial fields as commercial solid-acid catalysts due to their characteristic acidic properties and regular microporous structures. Generally, MOR zeolite has been known to be active for a gas-phase DME carbonylation, however, severe coke depositions on the MOR caused a fast deactivation. In terms of catalyst recycle and stability, FER zeolite has some advantages compared to the MOR due to their planner structures with less coke depositions. In the present study, the effects of metal substitutions such as In and Ga in the zeolite frameworks were investigated to control the strength and distribution of acidic sites. The zeolite synthesis was carried out with structure directing agent (SDA) and metal sources such as In and Ga precursor simultaneously. The catalyst stability and activity on the metal-incorporated FER were in-situ measured and characterized by using various surface characterization tools.

Recently, many of container terminal operates adopt an AYC(Automated Yard Crane) as yard container handling equipment in order to reduce costs and improve productivity. A container terminal that uses AYCs requires a remote worker to perform loading/unloading operation of AYCs safely. Generally remote workers are assigned to AYCs in the sequence of request of an AYC. Providing too many remote workers to operations of AYCs involves cost and not providing enough remote workers to operations of AYCs results in excessive waiting time of AYCs and external trucks. Therefore the effect of queueing in relation to the time spent by AYCs to access remote work services is an important issues of container terminal operators. In this study, the queueing characteristics of the remote workers operation is analysed using a multi-server queueing model. Considering the service level and waiting cost, we deals with how to determine the optimal number of remote worker. The validity of the proposed method was verified using actual field data and the sensitivity analysis has been performed.
컨테이너 터미널의 ALV 시스템을 위한 시뮬레이션 모형

최근 본선작업의 대기시간을 단축할 수 있는 효율적인 이송장비로 ALV(Automated Lifting Vehicle)가 연구되고 있다. 그러나 ALV와 다른 하역장비의 연계에 대한 구체적인 분석을 수행한 후 동적 요소들을 반영한 연구는 미흡하다. ALV의 수행도는 동적 환경하의 자가하역 작업, 차량간 방해, 가용한 작업 공간의 점유에 크게 좌우된다. 그러므로 ALV 시스템이 도입된 컨테이너 터미널의 생산성을 평가하는 것은 매우 어렵다. 따라서ALV시스템에 적합한 운영 규칙을 갖춘 시뮬레이션 모형으로 개발되어야 한다. 또한 모형은 연계작업과 차량 주행의 특성을 고려해야 한다. 본 연구는 수평형 컨테이너 터미널을 가정하고 하역작업 과정을 분석하고 시뮬레이션 모형에 필요한 주요 운영 규칙을 제시하였다. 그리고 객체지향 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어인 Anylogic을 이용하여 ALV 시스템에 기반한 컨테이너 터미널 시뮬레이션 모형을 개발하였다. Recently, an ALV (Automated Lifting Vehicle) is studied as an efficient transporter, which can reduce the waiting time during ship operation in a container terminal. There are little of studies on an ALV system considering dynamic factors after analysing the cooperation between equipments. The performance of an ALV depends on self-loading & unloading of an ALV, vehicle’s interference, and occupancy of an available transfer point under dynamic environment. So, it is very difficult to evaluate the productivity of a container terminal with an ALV system. Therefore the simulation model with operational rules that be apt for an ALV system must be developed. Also the model has to consider the characteristics of interface operations and vehicle traffic. Supposing an container terminal with perpendicular layout, this study analyses the process of container handling operation and proposes operational rules such as the ALV dispatching, routing algorithm and so on for a model. We developed a simulation model for a container terminal with an ALV system using object-oriented simulation software, Anylogic.
