In recent years, mobile devices have become indispensable devices for everyday life. However, the types and technologies of mobile devices that are soft and easy to carry are not sufficient. It is urgently necessary to develop and disseminate supplementary measures to improve their communication as part of securing the equal rights of disabled people to social members. In order to address the gap between disabled and non-disabled people in terms of utilization of information and communication technology and to improve the smart mobile usage environment, this study aimed to develop an alternative means. The Braille keyboard for the visually impaired developed in the fabric form exhibited a good signal-to-noise ratio value of 41.14 when a P40 insulation layer was inserted between two conductive layers. This is because there is a factor due to the difference in permittivity, and the change in the distance between the conductive layers due to the applied load is greatest.

With the rapid growth of the Internet of things in the recent years, smart textile technologies have correspondingly attracted significant research attention in the industry. One important elementary technology being considered for smart textiles is a touch sensor input device to enable direct communication between users and other electronic devices. This study investigated the effect of the structural difference in conducting fibers on the sensing property of capacitive textile touch sensors. Conducting fibers made of stainless steel spun yarns and filaments used for electrodes presented different changes in electrical resistance with the application of tensile and compressive forces. It is believed that the different structures between spun yarns and filaments induced difference in the electric contact among their constituent fibers with the application of an external force. Moreover, the random deformation of staple fibers resulted in the unstable change of capacitance and large hysteresis, while a stable performance and low hysteresis was observed for textile sensors with filaments.

Since the mid-twenties, various researches have been conducted with a focus on decreasing air pollution. In recent years, many researchers have investigated the multifunctional filtration method with the aim of developing an efficient filter. One of the notable experiments conducted involves electrospraying materials onto nonwoven fabric. In this project, we electrosprayed an enzyme-incubated aqueous solution that contains a water-soluble acrylic binder extracted from kimchi and studied its drop, jet, discharge current, and jet velocity.
유전체분리판 전기집진기의 도시철도 승강장 내 초미세먼지 제거 실증 평가

The concentration of ultra fine particles (PM2.5) inside the underground subway station is greatly affected by the outdoor PM concentration. It is necessary to remove ultra fine dust by installing an air purification facility with high dust collection efficiency and low pressure drop. In this study, an high efficiency electrostatic precipitator(ESP) with a dielectric separator is designed and evaluated. The dielectric separator can prevent short circuit between electrodes and improve the dust collection performance by increasing the strength of the electric field and the dust collection area by electric polarization. The result of the demonstration facility installed at Busan Minam Subway station without replacing the fan motor of the existing air handling unit shows that about 40% of the concentration of PM2.5/PM10 in the platform is removed during the subway operation hours. The collected dust is automatically removed to be possible to use for a long time. 도시철도 지하역사 내 초미세먼지(PM2.5) 농도는 외기농도에 크게 영향을 받으므로 외기를 도입하는 공기조화기에 높은 집진효율과 낮은 차압 구조의 공기정화설비를 설치하여 초미세먼지를 제거할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존 지하역사에 설치된 공기조화기에 설치가 가능하고, 초미세먼지 제거효율이 높으며, 낮은 압력손실을 가지며, 자동세정이 가능한 유전체분리판 전기집진기를 개발하였고, 부산 미남역사에서 실증 설치하여 초미세먼지 제거 특성에 대해 연구를 수행하였다. 유전체 분리판은 전기집진기 내에서 전극 간 단락을 방지할 수 있으며, 전기적 분극에 의해 전기장의 세기와 집진면적을 증대시켜 집진성능 향상이 가능하다. 부산 도시철도 미남역에서 공기조화설비의 팬모타 교체 없이 본 연구 개발품을 적용한 실증설비의 연구결과는 지하철 운행시간 중 승강장 내 PM2.5/PM10 농도의 약 40%가 제거되었으며, 포집된 먼지는 자동세정이 가능하여 장시간 사용이 가능하였다.

Polarimetry is a non-destructive technique that measures the degree of rotation of polarized light passing through an optically active material. Optical activity is determined by various factors, including intrinsic optical properties and residual stress. Thus, polarimetry can be used in various fields. In this study, polarimetry was used to evaluate the two-dimensional spatial uniformity of optical birefringence in an Ajinomoto build-up film. This analysis can predict the optimal cure condtitions of the film, which creates a uniform phase retardation distribution.

Polyvinylidene difluoride solution dip-coating and a high-voltage poling process is effective at inducing chain reorientation and phase transformation. Moreover, a copper wire external electrode and coated fiber combined to form a piezoelectric device successfully. In addition, a textile-like piezoelectric device comprising of three warps and one weft was fabricated, and the piezoelectric properties of the device were evaluated. The voltage from the polyvinylidene difluoride fiber was increased as the external force was applied. The piezoelectric performance was affected by the presence of external load resistors. Moreover, in the case of the textile-type piezoelectric device, the more warps and weft were connected to each other, the higher was the voltage generated. Consequently, single fiber can be used for piezoelectric devices, moreover, it enables advanced users to have wide application, for example, woven or knitted smart textile-type sensors or micro energy harvesters.
