        A Study on the Conservation Activity for Modern Landscape Heritage of the Japanese Institute of Landscape Architecture

        The present study is intended to draw an implication from landscape heritage conservation activities of the Japanese Institute of Landscape Architecture(JILA) via literature survey and interviews. In consequence, the modern landscape conservation activities of the Japanese Institute of Landscape Architecture can be divided into three phases. First of all, the beginning phase was between 1989 and 1997. In the phase, the Japanese Institute of Landscape Architecture established the Landscape Heritage Conservation Committee, showing its first academic-society-level actions. Secondly, the preparatory phase was between 1998 and 2009. A variety of academic activities were conducted during the phase, and the activities included establishment of the Landscape Heritage Research Committee and five subcommittees. Lastly, the activity phase was initiated in 2010. The Landscape Heritage Inventory Composition Committee was established in the year and has been active since then, conducting researches on landscape heritage in Japan and publishing the results. The local branches of the Japanese Institute of Landscape Architecture seized the initiative when the researches were conducted, and it systematically performed the activities. Between 2001 and 2006, the preparatory phase, a variety of case studies were performed to deal with modern landscape heritage from various perspectives such as academic, legal and institutional perspectives. Consequently, the concept of modern landscape heritage conservation was expanded to the concept of landscape heritage in terms of conservation activities. This shed new light on the role of landscape architecture in the society and led to a deeper consideration on the fundamentals of landscape architecture. The fact that the Japanese Institute of Landscape Architecture delivered academic messages and secured the sustainability through documentation and publication of the results of the activities without external financial support has a critical implication for us.

        복층터널에 적용 가능한 화재 연동형 대배기구 운영 특성 분석 연구

        인구 초과밀화 현상이 심해지고 있는 국내 수도권 및 대도시에서 발생되고 있는 교통문제 해결을 위해 지하도로 개발 사업이 늘어나고 있으며, 시공성과 경제성의 이점을 가지는 복층터널 기술을 적용하여 다수의 지하도로를 계획하고 있는 추세이다. 복층터널은 하나의 굴착단면을 두 개로 나눠 상하행선으로 사용하는 방식으로 대부분 층고가 낮아 소형차량 전용도로로 사용되고 있는 실정이다. 또한, 이러한 소단면 특성으로 인해 환기 및 방재 측면에서도 일반 도로터널과 상이한 특성을 가지게 된다. 본 연구에서는 복층터널과 같이 층고가 낮은 소단면 터널에 반횡류식 환기방식의 하나인 대배기구 방식을 적용한 운영안을 제시하고 FDS 시뮬레이션을 통해 화재발생 위치와 대배기구 배연 방식 등에 따른 배연 특성을 비교하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 균일배기와 달리 대배기구를 이용하여 집중배연시 연기의 확산지연 효과가 최대화 되고 연기가 화재지점 상하류 50 m안에 제한시킬 수 있었다. Recently, the number of underground road development projects has been increasing to solve traffic problems in the national capital region and metropolitan areas with intensified overcrowding, and there has been a tendency to plan underground roads by applying a double-deck tunnel technology that has advantages in constructability and economical efficiency. The double-deck tunnel has a structure where one excavation section is divided into two parts and used as up and down lines, and is mainly used as a road for small vehicles only due to its low floor height. In addition, due to the small cross-sectional area, it has characteristics different from those of general road tunnels in terms of ventilation and disaster prevention. In this regard, this study proposed an operational plan that applies an oversized exhaust system, which is one of semi-transverse ventilation systems, to small cross-sectional tunnels like double-deck tunnel with low floor height, and a comparative analysis between smoke exhaust characteristics according to the fire occurrence locations and oversized exhaust systems was conducted using the Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS). The results showed that unlike uniform exhaust, intensive smoke exhaust using the oversized exhaust port maximized the delay effect of smoke diffusion and limited the smoke within 50 m above and below the fire point.

        Analysis on the Natural Landscape Conservation Policies of Kyoto, Japan

        This paper provides a chronological analysis on the natural landscape conservation policies of Kyoto, a representative historic city of Japan. The result is as follows. First of all, the Kyoto city government has executed city planning based on Scenic Landscape Districts since the early 1900s, and multiple special preservation districts showing the identity of Kyoto have been designated and preserved under the Ancient Capital Cities Preservation Laws against city sprawl. Also the Kyoto city government has preserved the natural landscape in the mountainous/piedmont area that is regarded as relatively hard to be damaged by development projects through expanding Scenic Landscape Districts and establishing city ordinances. Secondly, several natural landscape conservation policies have been promoted as part of the entire city planning, not as separated independent policies. The Kyoto city government has executed the relevant policies, considering the coherence between the landscape planning as part of city planning and the other independent landscape planning projects. Lastly, the Kyoto city government has dealt with various difficulties that cannot be dealt with the national laws by establishing independent city ordinances. The landscape policies formed recently consist of several ways of management operation, such as landscape preservation through regulations and citizen's participation. Especially, promoting citizen's participation is considered as an exceedingly effective way to execute the landscape policies more effectively because the citizen's participation tends to increase their interest in landscape.

      • 슬관절 외측 및 후외측 불안정성에 대한 외측 보강술 및 슬와근 건고정술

        목적: 외상으로 인한 슬관절 외측 및 후외측 불안정성을 보이는 환자에게 있어 동시 외측 보강술 및 슬와근 건고정술을 시행하는 방법으로 그 치료결과를 보고하고자 한다. 대상 및 방법: 1996년 7월부터 2003년 7월까지 슬관절 외측 및 후외측 불안정성으로 진단 받고 외측보강술 및 슬와근 건고정술 후 1년 이상 추시 관찰이 가능했던 21예를 대상으로 하였다. 남자가 15예, 여자가 6예이었으며 평균연령은 38.5세였다. 손상 후 수술까지의 평균기간은 6.8개월이었다. 슬관절 외측 및 후외측 불안정성의 치료에 있어 본원에서는 대퇴부 외상과에서, 3예에서는 아킬레스 동종건 이식을 시행하였고 18예에서 내측부 인대용 ABC인조인대(Active Bioprosthetic Composite Polyester Ligament, Surgicraft, U. K. )를 이용하여 외측 측부인대의 보강 및 슬와근 건고정술을 동시에 시행하였다 결과: 최종 추시상 슬관절 90도 굴곡 후방 부하 방사선 촬영상 후방 전위의 정도는 건측에 비해 평균 5.6 mm에서 2.5 mm로 개선되었다. 슬관절 30도 굴곡상태의 내반 검사는 전위정도가 건측에 비해 수술 전 평균 8.2 mm의증가소견을 보였으나, 수술 후에는 평균 2 mm의 증가소견만을 보였다. Lysholm score는 수술 전 평균 52.5점에서 수술 후 평균 86.7점으로 34.2점 증가하였고 자가건 이식과 ABC 인조인대를 사용한 군에서 결과는 유의한 차이점은 없었다. 결론: 슬관절의 외측 및 후외측 불안전성에 대한 외측 보강술 및 슬와건 건고정술은 수기 및 수술 후 치료방법이간단하며, 임상적, 방사선학적 평가 결과로 미루어 보아 효과적인 치료 방법 중의 하나로 판단된다. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to make a report on the clinical prognosis of post traumatic lateral and posterolateral instability of the knee after LCL augmentation and popliteal tenodesis. Materials and Methods: The assessment was made among 21 cases who underwent augmentation of lateral collateral ligament(LCL) and popliteal tenodesis with allograft or artificial ligament (synthetic polyester, ABC ligament, Surgicraft, U.K.) at this Medical Center during the period from July 1996 to July 2003 and whose follow-up period was longer than one year. The authors recorded and analysed the physical findings (external rotation recurvatum test & posterolateral drawer test), stress roentgenograms(preoperative and postoperative) and Lysholm score. Results: The lateral and posterolateral instability of the knee were improved in 20 cases postoperatively, acccording to the clinical test and stress roentgenograms . Average Lysholm score was 52.5 preoperatively and 86.7 postoperatively .Conclusion: Our study found the surgery of lateral and posterolateral instability of the knee with augmentation of LCL and popliteal tenodesis using allograft or artiflcial ligament is simple technique. Taking these results into consideration, it seems to be one of effective methods of treatment.

      • High-performance Hg<sup>2+</sup> FET-type sensors based on reduced graphene oxide/polyfuran nanohybrids

        A new type of field-effect transistor (FET) sensor, based on reduced graphene oxide (rGO)-polyfuran (PF) nanohybrids, was strategically developed. The liquid-ion gated FET based on the rGO/PF nanohybrids showed p-type behavior, which means the hole transporting behaviour. The sensing transducer exhibited a rapid response (<1 s) and high sensitivity (10 pM) in a liquid-ion-gated FET-type Hg<sup>2+</sup> sensor. Excellent Hg<sup>2+</sup> discrimination in heavy metal mixtures was also monitored in real time.

        지역 주민 주체의 농촌지역 경관관리 사례 연구

        Four requirements for the operating and supporting system for sustainable landscape management will be discussed through this paper. The requirements are based on multiple case studies on the structure and the process of development of three organizations that have been contributing to the sustainable rural landscape management in Japan since 1989. The first requirement is that the residents should recognize regional problems and voluntarily organize a group which can properly deal with the problems. Secondly, members of the organization should have a solid grasp of the goal of their activities (or founding principal of the organization) and share it among themselves. Founding principal should include the history of natural circulation system in the area, cultural features and a future plan in association with human resources. Thirdly, the administration of the organization should be separated from the founder, the residents. The administration, such as business promotion, becomes more effective when consigned to a separate entity, not to the residents. Lastly, the interaction among separate entities is crucial to promote diverse activities for the local landscape management. The administrators and experts need to cooperate to draw a precise conclusion regarding the way of interaction. These requirements drawn from the Japanese case studies should be localized to the Korean circumstances for further adoption.

        복층터널내 화재특성에 대한 실험적 연구

        In the wake of expanding and overpopulating urban areas, traffic congestion has been worsening increasingly, causinghuge economic losses. In a bid to effectively use the space of metropolitan areas, the construction and operation of a doubledeck tunnel has been on the rise. On the other hand, a lower height of a double deck tunnel is expected to generatemore smoke and soot in a fire than other usual tunnels. Therefore, it is undesirable to apply the standard for fire intensityor smoke generation, which were designed for existing road tunnels. A part of an effort to propose a design fire curve thatis useful for double deck tunnel, is intended to obtain and analyze the fire characteristics in a double deck tunnel through areal scale fire test. The test was conducted according to the fire scenario with one passenger car and two passenger cars;the monitored fire intensity was a maximum of 2.4 MW and 3.5 MW, respectively. 최근 도시의 거대화 및 과밀화의 영향으로 교통정체가 심해지고, 이로 인한 경제적 손실이 막대하게 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 대도시 공간의 효율적인 활용 방안으로 현재 국내외 도심지 터널이 복층터널로 계획되고 운영되는 추세이다. 그러나 복층터널의 경우 층고의 감소로 인해 터널 내부에서의 차량 화재시 일반 도로터널에 비해 더 많은 양의연기 및 검탱이 발생될 것으로 예측되기 때문에 기존의 일반 도로터널을 대상으로 구축된 설계화재강도나 연기발생량을적용하여 설계하고 운영하는 것은 바람직하지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 복층터널 설계시 유용한 설계화재곡선 제시를위한 연구의 일환으로 실규모 차량화재실험을 수행하여 복층터널내 화재 특성 데이터를 획득하고 분석하였다. 실험은 승용차 1대의 화재상황과 2대의 화재상황, 두 가지 상황을 구현하여 수행하였으며, 실험 결과로부터 화재강도는 승용차 1대에서는 최대 2.4MW, 승용차 2대에서는 최대 3.5MW가 나타났다.

        협대역 고출력 전자기파로 인한 CMOS IC에서의 오동작 특성 연구

        This study examined the malfunction mode of the HCMOS IC under narrow-band high-power electromagnetic wave. Magnetron is used to a narrow-band electromagnetic source. MFR (malfunction failure rate) was measured to investigate the HCMOS IC. In addition, we measured the resistance between specific pins of ICs, which are exposed and not exposed to the electromagnetic wave, respectively. As a test result of measurement, malfunction mode is shown in three steps. Flicker mode causing a flicker in LED connected to output pin of IC is dominant in more than 7.96 kV/m electric field. Self-reset mode causing a voltage drop to the input and output of IC during electromagnetic wave radiation is dominant in more than 9.1 kV/m electric field. Power-reset mode making a IC remained malfunction after electromagnetic radiation is dominant in more than 20.89 kV/m. As a measurement result of pin-to-pin resistance of IC, the differences between IC exposed to electromagnetic wave and normal IC were minor. However, the five in two hundred IC show a relatively low resistance. This is considered to be the result of the breakdown of pn junction when latch-up in CMOS occurred. Based on the results, the susceptibility of HCMOS IC can be applied to a basic database to IC protection and impact analysis of narrow-band high-power electromagnetic waves.
