An Approach to the Fast ROI Detection System using Region Descriptor and Background Modeling

In this paper, fast region of interests(ROI) detection system is proposed using background modeling technique and neural network in a video stream. Existing systems for tracking and detection on a video stream could generate many loads because of detecting a region of interests on entire region at every frame. To solve the problem, the proposed system is detecting a ROI on moving region using background modeling technique and neural network. First, the proposed system extracts features on ROI using covariance descriptor and is studied through a back propagation (BP) neural network. And then the proposed system can abstract a moving region using background modeling technique and detect a ROI from the moving region using covariance descriptor and neural network. In this paper, we conduct a performance evaluation of a proposed system through experiments on detecting a license plate in a video stream on a road and prove a quality of a proposed system.

Mobile operators will face many challenges both economically and technically, as WLAN evolve through a bewildering number of different standards during the coming years. Potentially this will require several upgrades to the mobile infrastructure. A new approach for addressing these challenges is evaluated in this paper. It is based on a radio over fiber (RoF) technology that uses electro-absorption modulator (EAM) and optical single sideband (OSSB) modulation technique and it promises to provide solutions that will be transparent to changes in protocols and frequency of operation as well as reducing radio access infrastructure costs. This paper describes the development of prototype RoF system based on the 60GHz band CATV transport distribution system with EAM and the possibility of radio over fiber technology for use in the broadband convergence network (BcN) wireless access infrastructure. WLAN 및 이동통신은 계속해서 많은 서로 다른 표준으로 진화함에 따라 이동통신 사업자는 기술적 경제적 많은 어려움에 직면하고 있다. 따라서 끊임없는 시스템 업그레이드가 필요하게 된다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 새로운 접근 방법을 모색하여 그 타당성을 연구하였다. 즉, electro-absorption modulator(EAM) 과 optical single sideband (OSSB)에 기반한 radio over fiber (RoF) 기술을 사용해 저가, 단순, 주파수변화 및 프로토콜 변화가 없는 트랜스패런트한 무선 액세스 망을 구축하여 그 해결책을 제시하였다. 본 논문에서는 프로토타입 CATV 용 60GHz 대 무선 RoF 분배시스템을 구축하여 broadband convergence network (BcN)의 무선 액세스망에 사용가능성을 타진하였다.

Purpose: The aim of the study was to investigate the frequency of adverse events and the appropriate observational duration after successful air reduction of childhood intussusception. Methods: This was a retrospective, observational study of children, aged 0 to 14 years, who underwent successful air reduction after diagnosis of intussusception in two tertiary referral hospitals. The demographic data, onset time and type of intussusception, observational duration and frequency of adverse events after air reduction were collected. We categorized the adverse events as grade 1 to 5. Grade 1 is severe abdominal pain which requires analgesia; grade 2 is nausea and vomiting which require intravenous (IV) hydration;grade 3 is symptoms and signs requiring re-evaluation of ultrasonography (US), confirmed as no recurrence; grade 4 is symptoms and signs requiring re-evaluation of US, confirmed as recurrence; and grade 5 is failed second air reduction and consequent operation. Results: A total of 547 patients (369 boys and 178 girls)were enrolled. Mean age of the subjects was 24.1 months (SD: ±19.3, range 1-144). The mean time duration from symptom onset to emergency department (ED) visit was 18.4 hours (SD: ±18.5), and the average observational duration after the successful air reduction was 32.8 hours (SD: ±29.1, range: 1-216). The number of children who suffered from the grade 1 to 5 of adverse events were 13(2.4%), 2 (0.4%), 38 (6.9%), 33 (6%), and 2 (0.4%), respectively. A total of 17 (3.1%) children recurred after 24 hours of air reduction, 7 (1.3%) in the hospital and 10 (1.8%) after discharge. Among these patients, only one (0.2%) child under in-hospital observation underwent an operation. Conclusion: A 24-hour long observation at ED after the successful air reduction allows the safe and feasible management of childhood intussusception.

A SMS Moodle plug-in block was developed for the Pai-Chai Moodle virtual learning environment. Professors can send SMS messages directly from their courses by using the SMS block. NuSOAP open source web service library was utilized for XML SOAP based message transfer.
