This paper presented surge protective method and devices for shipboard electrical and electronics devices. Parallel type surge protective devices (SPD) for the 440 [V] and a series type SPD for the 220 [V] rated voltage were designed and fabricated. The performance were evaluated by an un-powered test which applies the 8/20 [㎲] surge current Lip to 10 [㎄]. The maximum clamping voltage of the parallel and the series type SPD were 1,032 [V] and 875 [V], respectively.

We measured the magnitude and the frequency of surge voltages in a shipboard lighting system to practical use for the design of surge protective circuit of shipboard LED lamps. Shipboard electronic device such as LED lamp are exposed to surge voltages because many large capacity power facilities are set up at a small space in shipboard, We installed an surge recorder (PWV-002) which is connected with a lighting power line in a room, and measured surge voltage for four days operation. The magnitude of the measured surge voltage was in ranges of 120 [V]~l,250 [V]. The front time and the duration were in ranges of 3 [㎲]~7 [㎲] and of 30 [㎲]~60 [㎲], respectively. In case of this paper, metal oxide varistor (MOV) with 470 [V<SUB>ref</SUB>] and 2.5 [㎄] for 8/20 [㎲] is sufficient for the surge protective device of shipboard LED lamps.

This paper describes the stable system of Ship balance by using ARM(Advanced RISC(Reduced Instruction Set Computer) Machines Ltd.,) & GYRO during the voyage. Generally, the slope is controlled by using Fin stabilizer or RRS(Rudder Roll Stabilization System). Especially, the cruise must remove the vibration and noise through other balance system for passenger. The proposed water ballast system composes of ARM BOARD, GYRO, WATER PUMP AND UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply). When the ARM BOARD detect the signal from the GYRO and control the WATER PUMP and then get the stability. Fail Safety System also maintain the stable state from the emergency situation by using the UPS and Software.
