Four species of the genus Catoptria Hübner are recognized from Korea: Catoptria furciferalis (Hampson), Catoptria permiacus (Petersen), Catoptria pinella (Linnaeus), and Catoptria verellus (Zincken); of which, C. furciferalis (Hampson), C. pinella (Linnaeus), and C. verellus (Zincken) are reported for the first time from Korea. A key to the Korean species of genus Catoptria is presented, with the description and photographs of adults, male, and female genitalia provided.
한국산 풀명나방아과(Crambinae)의 분류학적 연구

풀명나방아과 (Crambinae)는 1810년 Latreille에 의해 처음 확인된 그룹이며, 전 세계적으로 1987종이 기록되어있다. 한국산 풀명나방아과는 기존 연구에서 20속 48종이 기록되어 있으며, “포충나방아과”라는 국명으로 분류되었다.본 연구를 통하여, “포충나방아과”에 대한 국명을 “풀명나방아과”로 정정하였으며, 이에 따른 국명 정리를 수행하였다.또한, 분류학적 연구를 통하여 1 미기록속, 2 신종후보종, 9 미기록종을 포함하여 총 21속 58종의 풀명나방아과를정리하였다.
톱다리개미허리노린재 방제용 페로몬트랩의 효율증대를 위한 끈끈이트랩 활용

The purpose of this study was to investigate the attraction distance range of pheromone traps used in the control of stink bugs, which are a problem in persimmon orchards, and the effects of sticky traps in increasing the efficiency of pheromone traps. Labeled individuals were released and then recaptured on pheromone and sticky traps. Riptortus clavatus was attracted to pheromone traps up to 60 m away. The capture rates of R. clavatus on sticky traps were 35%, 27%, 34%, 2.9%, and 0.6% after 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 weeks To improve clarity, II have added this information from the details shown in the figures. Besides, when both pheromone and sticky traps were used at the same time following the release-recapture method, the capture rate of R. clavatus was 12 times higher than that by using pheromone traps only. 단감 과수원에서 문제가 되고 있는 노린재의 방제 목적으로 사용되는 페로몬트랩의 유인거리를 확인하고, 페로몬트랩의 효율을 증가시킬 수 있는 끈끈이트랩의 사용효과에 대하여 알아보고자 수행되었다. 노린재에 마커로 표시한 후 방사하여 페로몬트랩과 끈끈이트랩에 재포획된 개체수를 조사하였다. 그 결과, 페로몬트랩에 톱다리개미허리노린재가 60 m까지 유인되는 것을 확인하였으며, 끈끈이트랩의 포획률은 0주차 35%, 1주에서 27%, 2주에서 34%, 3주에서 2.9%, 4주에서 0.6%로, 3주 이후부터 급격히 낮아지는 것을 확인하였다. 페로몬트랩과 끈끈이트랩을 동시에 사용한 경우가 페로몬트랩만 단일로 사용한 경우보다 약 12배 높은 포획률을 보였다.

Three species, Glaucocharis melistoma (Meyrick), G. rosannoides (Bleszynski), and G. vermeeri (Bleszynski), of the genus Glaucocharis Meyrick of the subfamily Crambinae (Lepidoptera, Crambidae) are reported for the first time from Korea. Adults and genitalia images for the newly recorded species from Korea are provided, with a key to species of the genus Glaucocharis Meyrick. A checklist of the genus is given.
자동화 모니터 및 개발을 위한 등검은말벌 발생 현황 조사

The damage of wasps in the beekeeping industry is increasing, but there are limitations in continuous control and monitoring. This study was conducted for the purpose of collecting basic data for the development of automatic monitoring system for occurrence status of wasps. The survey was conducted over a total of three years from 2018 to 2020, and once a week from April to November when wasps start to occur. As a result, 494 were collected in 2018, 1272 in 2019, and 795 in 2020, a total of 2561 wasps were captured, and after divided them according to date, attractant agent, and habitat, and then cluster analysis was performed on them. As a result, in 2018, Vespa ducalis and Vespa analis parallela, in 2019, Vespa velutina nigrithorax and Vespa mandarinia, and in 2020, Vespa analis parallela and Vespa velutina nigrithorax were dominant and subdominant species, respectively. It was confirmed that the Vespa velutina nigrithorax (28%) and Vespa analis parallela (23%) were dominant for three year. We monitored the Yellow-legged wasp, an invasive species that has become a problem each year, and as a result, queen bees occur from early May to early June. It was confirmed that the peak period was achieved from middle of September to middle of October. It is expected that the results of this study can be used as basic data that can be used to refer to considerations such as habitats, target species, attractant agent, and monitoring period to be equipped in the monitoring system when constructing an automated wasp monitoring system.

In this study was to present the development strategies for beekeeping industry in Korea. Furthermore, the status of royal jelly production was analyzed intensively. Royal jelly was a smart beekeeping among products with high accessibility. The number of beekeepers was about 20,000 or more, with 21.2 thousand in 2012 and 26.5 thousand in 2018. The number of hive was about 2 million by 2015, exceeded 2 million in 2016, 2018. The economic value of the beekeeping industry is estimated at ₩552.7 billion in 2017. In addition, honey bees have the role of pollination, and are responsible for the public benefit of maintaining the natural ecosystem. There was no official statistics on the production of royal jelly worldwide, however China produces more than 90%. In Korea, royal jelly was the third largest beekeeping product in the beekeeping industry, with ₩28.1 billion. As a way to expand the production of royal jelly, the establishment of a smart farm system must be introduced. The current status of smart farm use includes automation technology for supplying to the food and an electric heating device to increase the internal temperature of the hive in early spring. The direction of the smart farm should be automatic monitoring, pest reduction, and labor reduction technologies. The National Assembly promulgated the Act on Support for the Beekeeping Industry on August 28, 2019, and it is in force from August 28, 2020. Through the application of the smart farm system, it is possible to realize stable revenue source creation and labor reduction for beekeepers.
Crambidae(나비목: 명나방상과)의 국명에 관한 고찰 Review of the Korean name of Crambidae (Lepidoptera: Pyraloidea)

과거, 국내에서는 1983년도까지 Crambidae과를 ‘벼명나방무리’라고 불렀다. 1983년부터 ‘포충나방과‘로 개칭된 이래로 현재까지 포충나방과로 불리고 있다. 보통 국명을 명명할 때에는 각 과에 해당하는 종들의 대표적 생태적, 형태적 특징을 이용한 이름을 이용하여 명명한다. 산명나방아과, 물명나방아과, 들명나방아과 등, Crambidae과가 속한 아과에는 주로 서식지를 특징으로 한 이름이 국명으로 지정되었다. 미국에서는 Crambidae과를 일반명으로 ‘Grass moth’로 명명하고 사용하고 있으며, 중국에서는 일반명을 ‘草螟科’로 명명하고 사용하고 있다. 따라서, Crambidae과의 대표 아과인 Crambinae아과가 주로 서식하는 부들이나 옥수수 등의 초본류를 대표하는 ‘풀’이라는 단어를 따서 풀명나방과로 개칭하고자 한다. 또한, 국내에 분포하는 Crambinae아과 48종 중, ‘포충’이란 국명이 들어간 40종에 대한 국명 또한 개칭을 제안하고 이에 대한 근거를 제시하고 이를 대중화하고자 한다.
