2005 직지상 시상식을 기념하는 지난 9월4일 '흥덕사지 발굴의 회고와 전망'이라는 주제로 청주고인쇄박물관 세미나실에서 개최됐다. 청주시와 청주고인쇄박물관, 청주대학교 박물관이 공동 주최한 이날 학술회의는 이엽 청주대학교 교수의 사회로 토론이 진행됐다. 이날 학술회의에서는 김영진(흥덕사지 발굴단장) 청주대 명예교수의 기조강연과 흥덕사지의 발견과 주변유적(차용걸.충북대교수), 흥덕사지와 출토유물의 문화재적 가치(박상일.청주대박물관 학예연구실장), 흥덕사의 복원과 주변의 정비(김태영.청주대교수), 세계기록유산 '직지'와 청주고인쇄박물관의 위상(박문열.청주대교수),직지와 나(박병선.재불한국학자), 청주고인쇄박물관의 발전과제(이춘근 문화재청 사적명승국장.허권 유네스코한국위원회 문화팀장.황재봉 청주시의회 운영총무위원장)에 대해 주제발표가 이루어졌다. 다음은 박병선 박사의 발표 내용이다.

현존 세계 최고의 금속활자본 직지심체요절을 발견하여 세상의 빛을 보게 하고 한국을 인쇄종주국으로 인정받게 한 박병선 박사가 최근 청주고인쇄박물관의 지원을 받아 ‘한국의 인쇄’라는 고인쇄 연구 책자를 발간했다. 이 책에는 고대부터 근대에 이르는 인쇄의 역사가 일목요연하게 정리되어 있다. 본지에서는 본 책자 부록편에 실려있는 제본의 역사 분야를 발췌 보도한다.

In this paper we study two vector-valued process capability indices $C_{p}$=($C_{px}$, $C_{py}$ ) and $C_{pk}$=( $C_{pkx}$, $C_{pky}$) considering process capability indices $C_{p}$ and $C_{pk}$. Investigation on Coating Methods of a Self-Assembled Monolayer on PDMS (Poly (dimethylsiloxane)) Surface

This paper examines PDMS surface treatment methods that can be applied to immobilize a hydrophilic polymer membrane in a PDMS microchannel by covalent bonding. After creating -OH groups on a PDMS surface by UV/ozone treatment, we form SAM on the surface using 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate (TMSPMA) or 3-(trichlorosilyl)propyl methacrylate (TPM) reagent. Contact angles between a water droplet and SAM-coated PDMS surfaces decreased due to -OH groups generated on the surfaces. The surface functionalized with TMSPMA resulted in the smallest contact angle of 46°. Raman spectroscopy showed that the intensities of Raman shifts were strongest for the surface functionalized with TMSPMA. Overall, functionalizing a PDMS surface with TMAPMA resulted best among the methods examined in this study.

기분장애 환자에서 자살 시도와 연관된 기질 및 성격

Objective : This study investigated the temperament and character traits associated with suicide attempts in patients with mood disorders. Methods : The temperament and character inventory (TCI) was administered to 150 patients who visited psychiatric clinics seeking treatment for mood symptoms. The patients were divided into three groups as follows : non-suicide ideation, suicide ideation and suicide attempt. We also gathered socio-economic data in order to rule out confounding variables. MANOVA was performed to analyze differences in personal temperament and character scores on the TCI between the three groups. Results : The self-directedness and cooperativeness subscales of the TCI are most influenced by the clinical symptoms rated by Beck Suicide Ideation Scale and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale. In the temperament scale, the suicide attempt group scored higher on the novelty seeking and harm avoidance items than the other two groups. The specific temperaments associated with suicidal behavior in patients with depression are impulsivity (NS2) and anticipatory anxiety or pessimism (HA1). Conclusion : In this study, we found that more risky patients who had previously attempted suicide had a temperament of impulsivity or pessimism. This finding suggests that a more cautious approach is needed to assess mood disorder patients with impulsive or pessimistic temperaments in order to prevent suicide attempts.

朝鮮後期 願堂의 政治的 基盤 : 官人 및 王室의 佛敎 認識을 中心으로 Centered on the Buddhism Recognition of kings and ruling classes

In Buddhism kings' and ruling classes' prospective attitudes for Yulgok's(栗谷) ideas: assigning officials, caring services for the funerals and ritual activities for the graves, and kingdom's living on vegetables, could be the bases in establishing, maintaining and increasing of the kingdom Wondangs. Yulgok's basic problems of assigning officials and caring the ritual activities for the graves depended on whether he had interests in studying Buddhism before or after his going for studying. The problem is whether we can also think of his going for study as that of Jungja(程子) and jooja(朱子) or not. Before Yulgok's going to the mountains for the study, the fact that he read Neungumkyung(楞嚴經) and after his mother's death and spent a year in a temple meant he had interest in Buddhism not as a religion but a study. Yulgok's interest for the study of Buddhism contributed the scholastic depth of Yulgok's in deed. Lots of Hwaum(華嚴) thought in Yulgok's Sungri Philosophy(性理哲學) can be the proof of the relationship between his study and Buddhism. There was a big argument in two groups[Seoin(西人) and Namin (南人)] about Yulgok's thought. Pro-group including the Kings and Seoins for Yulgok's thought, thought nothing wrong about the ideas of Yulgok. They regarded Yulgok's thought as a probability. They recognized the worth of the Buddhism in the points of scholastic and humanistic views though Buddhism is different from the confucianism, We can get the evidences in the chronical researches that showed no limitations for the Buddhism researches if only the study could improve the combination of Confucian and Buddhism. The social environment was ready to face to the flows of the studies. Confucian following Sadaebu(士大夫) had a principle, serving with meat for their worship services for their ancestors. The kingdom on the contrary served with vegetables. This brought the king and the subjects to a hot argue. Many people served with vegetables for their ancestors until the Dynasty of Korea but this made a lot of people think this custom was related with the Buddhism. At that time, people took serving vegetables for the clear mind. In the beginning of the Chosun Dynasty, people served the vegetables for their worships especially in the worship services of the funeral rites and grave worship rites. At the moment of the king's death in Myung(明) in China, all the people of the Myung then ate vegetables and wore funeral dress for the honor of the deads. In the later Chosun Dynasty, the arguments were getting serious and worse in discussions of conflict between kings and subjects. The core factors in conflict discussions were which the causes lay in traditional custom or Buddhism respect. Usually the kings wanted to regard it as a traditional custom come from the former kings instead the subjects treated it the family of the kings' Buddhism respect. The vegetable service for the remembrance rites was the combination of the confucianism and the Buddhism. Namins refused. to agreed to the vegetable worship service with energy. Powerful supports of Noron(老論) and Soron(小論) were the energy of the establishments of Wondangs in later Chosun Dynasty.

A novel effect of ethyl pyruvate in Schwann cell de-differentiation and proliferation during Wallerian degeneration

Ethyl pyruvate (EP), as a pyruvate derivative, has the protective effect on oxidative-stress-mediated cellular injury. In previous studies, it has been reported that EP provides protection against neuronal injury in brain, for example transient cerebral ischemia. However, the inhibition effect of EP on peripheral nerve injury is still unknown. Here, we investigated the inhibition effect of EP in Schwann cell de-differentiation and proliferation during Wallerian degeneration using ex vivo sciatic nerve explant system. We demonstrated that EP inhibits p-ERK1/2, p75NGFR, and lysosomal associated membrane protein 1 as factors implicated in Schwann cell de-differentiation during Wallerian degeneration. In addition, EP is sufficient to inhibit Schwann cell proliferation during Wallerian degeneration. Together, these findings suggest that EP has a strong protective effect on Wallerain degeneration.
