This paper describes a state-space self-tuning control technique to a pressurized water reactor(PWR) with unknown and time-varying parameters. This self-tuning control includes two substantial steps which are executed sequentially in each cycle. One is the parameter identification and the other is the control-law construction based on a specific control goal. The extended least square algorithm is used for the parameter identification and the Kalman filter is used for the state estimation. For the real-time optimal control, one step optimization scheme and matrix sign algorithm is used. Computer simulation results for 2200 ㎿(th) nuclear power plant are satisfactory in problems of load following control and parameter estimation.

This paper describes microprocessor based speed control system of a D.C. motor. To implement the minimum time control of the speed, Deadbeat control algorithm and observer algorithm are used. Z-80 microprocessor and one quardrant chopper are used to control the armature voltage of 2.2KW separately excited D.C. motor. To improve the effectivenss of the microprocessor two 8253 programable interval timers are used: one is used as an interval timer, the other is used as a SCR trigger pulse generator. The control system, therefore, can be simplified. And two bytes fixed point arithmetic method is used to increase significant figures. Results of some experiments show that a good speed response is achieved.

This paper deals with a microprocessor based constant speed control system for a D.C. motor drive, It discribes a. new direct digital control algorithm which couples a deadbeat control with a feedforward control to minimize speed variation. It also presents on indirect methods to approximate the magnitude of load torque that used for the feedforward action. This algorithm is implemented with an Apple II microprocessor and compared with PID and deadbeat control.

A new recursive parameter estimation algorithm with a modified time-varying prefilter is developed. Using a modified prefilter with time-varying contraction factor we obtain a more general algorithm that behaves like the extended least-squares algorithm in the transient behavior and like the recursive maximum likelihood algorithm in the asymptotic accuracy. Thus the proposed algorithm not only has the improved transient behavior and better asymptotic accuracy but also removes the stability monitoring which reduces the computational burden. Simulation results verify these properties.
대규모계통(大規模系統)의 다층제어(多層制御)에 관한 연구

This paper proposes a design method to construct the multilevel control system for large scale systems by the use of decomposition techniques. Proposed control system contains local controller in the low level to optimize only the performance measures of each subsystem, global controller in the high level to minimize mutual effects among subsystems, and estimator to estimate unmeasured state variables for state feedback. To evaluate the performance of this proposed control system, it is applied to the control of 6th order dynamic system which can be decomposed into two 3rd order subsystems. From this numerical example, it is concluded that for the control of large scale system this design method is superior to other methods in view points of control performance and implementation cost, etc.
특이 섭동기법(攝動技法)에 의한 원자로 출력 제어에 관한 연구

In this paper, design of sub-optimal state-feedback control system for PWR is treated. The control system of PWR contains two types of stato-variables, inherently. One is the state-variables with very small time constant, for example; power level, fuel temperature, etc., and the other is the state-variables with very large time constant, for example; coolant temperature etc.. In this type of system, application of generalized optimal control theory give rise to, so called, stiff differential equations. In this study, original model is decomposed into two subsystems, slow subsystem and fast subsystem by using singular perturbation technique toabbriviate the stiffness and optimal control systems are designed for each subsystems by the use of linear control theory. Then these two control systems are combined to obtain the overall sub-optimal control system. Computer simulations show that overall control system has quite reasonable satisfaction on the control quality.

The problems of process (sensor) fault management in Observer based control system are considered and structures of Fault Tolerant obserber based Control System (FTCS) that function well in the face of the faults are proposed. The FTCSs include detection logic unit and an additional observer driven by residuals of primary observer and estimate estimation errors of primary observer and fault variables. Since the FTCSs have the ability to detect and accomodate the fault, the original control objectives can be accomplished without considerable control performance deterioration even in the fault environments. Therefore, the proposed FTCSs can effectively be used for enhancing the functional reliability of the Observer Based Control Systems.
