2018-2019 광주지역 계절성 인플루엔자: 단일기관 연구

Purpose: According to the WHO, about 290,000 to 650,000 people are killed each year by seasonal influenza virus, and the proportion of influenza-like illness (ILI) by age group for the 2015-2016 flu season in Korea accounts for 70% of all occurrences in the 0-18 year old age group. In this study, we compared the clinical features of influenza type A and B in children, and the difference between the oseltamivir and peramivir groups for further treatment. Methods: The medical records of 112 children with influenza-like symptoms from September 2018 to April 2019, and who underwent rapid influenza diagnostic test were retrospectively reviewed. Results: Influenza A positive patients showed the highest distribution in the 0-1 year old group, and influenza B positive patients had the highest distribution in the 7-18 year old group. Fever duration after administration of antiviral agents was longer in type B. Influenza type A and B were compared with hospitalization period and total fever duration, but there was no statistical significance. Conclusion: In this study, clinical symptoms and laboratory tests according to influenza A and B were not statistically significant. And there was no statistically significant difference between hospitalization and fever duration according to the type of antiviral agent. But, in type B, the age of patients was higher and the duration of fever after antiviral treatment was longer.

Brugada syndrome is diagnosed in patients with typical ECG findings (coved ST elevation in leads V1-V3) plus at least one additional criterion from: a personal or family history of syncope, ventricular arrhythmias, or similar ECG findings in other family members. It is usually diagnosed in adulthood, and is very rarely diagnosed in children. A 15-year-old boy collapsed and lost consciousness while sitting at school. There was no significant previous history. An ECG showed ventricular fibrillation, which was successfully defibrillated with automated external defibrillator. 24-hour holter monitoring, coronary angiography, and electrophysiology tests did not show any specific findings. The flecainide-induced test showed RBBB with ST elevation in V1 to V2, suggesting Brugada syndrome type 1. He was successfully treated with implantable cardioverter defibrillator and was discharged.

1-D conducting polymer nanofibers provide significant promise for flexible miniaturized electronic devices because of their mechanical flexibility, reliability, and potential for high density arrays. We realized highly aligned semiconducting polymer nanofibers by using an electro-hydrodynamic nanowire printing (ENP) method which could adjust the position and dimension of polymer nanofibers. To investigate the properties of printed polymer nanofibers, we fabricated poly(3-hexylthiopehene) (P3HT) nanofiber transistors and improved the performance of P3HT nanofiber transistor by using conducting polymer (PEDOT:PSS:PFI) as the source-drain. In addition, we formed flexible polymer nanofiber transistors and device performance is very stable. With our nanofibers and polymeric electrodes patterning techniques, we achieved remarkably improved performance of polymer nanofiber transistors compared with conventional Au electrodes and conventional conducting polymers (PEDOT:PSS).
