This study were designed to degradabe of night soil by anaerobic digestion and also we were examined compositional characteristics of organic matter according to effects of solids retention time(SRT) by semicontinuous system. In the semicontinuous experiments, the removal rate of COD and VS concentration were increased according to increase of SRT.Degradation rate of carbohydrate, protein and lipid were 66%,46% and 45% that carbohydrate is most deradable. Biological decomposition of organic matters were able to expressed as linear reaction formular. At this time more than 70% of COD concentration of solid state were decomposed by anaerobic digestion. There was no significant that degradation rate of organic matter between SRT 15 and 20 days compared with STR 5 and 10 days. Gas production rate of unit removal rate per VS indicated that SRT 15 days was higher value than SRT 20 days. Gas production rate of SRT 15 days ware higher as 0.6ℓ/g day that of SRT 20 days as 0.38ℓ/day.
