This paper presents a gait analysis and measurement system using the Arduino and Open CV. The proposed gait analysis system can be applied to development of active prosthetic legs as the basic gait data. Firstly, we introduce a wireless gait measurement system to measure motion of pelvis, knee and ankle which is important decision point for gait. Secondly, we design a measurement apparatus solving existing cost problem by using source vision C library. Finally, we present an autonomous display in order to use measured data efficiently and provide the prediction function of gait signal. This shows that proposed method is better than existing methods in terms of the optimality of applicability and the cost.

This paper presents a gait analysis and measurement system using the Arduino and Open CV. The proposed gait analysis system can be used to help the development of active prosthetic legs by providing the supplementary gait data. Firstly, we introduce a gait measurement system to measure the motion of pelvis, knee, and ankle which are important decision points for gait. Secondly, we propose a gait measurement system, using fused angle data obtained by IMU sensors and a vision sensor. Thirdly, we design a cost-effective measurement apparatus by using open-source vision library and low-cost wireless communication devices. Finally, we present an autonomous display that can be used for the evaluation of the control performance of prosthetic legs. The novelty of the proposed system is that it has advantages over existing systems in terms of applicability and cost.
