We performed a study on the contaminant transfer in a clean space for the location of product and fan filter unit using computational fluid dynamics analysis. To simplify the real product moving process, three different non-moving cases regrading the locations of product were selected: no product, at the lower side, and at the upper and lower sides. And to investigate the characteristics of the contaminant transfer, the arrangement of fan filter units was varied. Local mean air-age and contaminant distribution were used as evaluation indices. From the results, the contaminant transfer to the product was the most when the products were simultaneously located at the upper and lower sides. And the contaminant was easily exhausted regardless of the location of product when the fan filter units were properly arranged at the top side of the clean space.

Mast cells are the most prominent effector cells of Type 1 hypersensitivity immune responses. CYC116 [4-(2-amino-4-methyl- 1,3-thiazol-5-yl)-N-[4-(morpholin-4-yl)phenyl] pyrimidin-2-amine] is under development to be used as an anti-cancer drug, but the inhibitory effects of CYC116 on the activation of mast cells and related allergy diseases have not reported as of yet. In this study, we demonstrated, for the first time, that CYC116 inhibited the degranulation of mast cells by antigen stimulation (IC50, ~1.42 μM). CYC116 also inhibited the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines including TNF-α (IC50, ~1.10 μM), and IL-6 (IC50, ~1.24 μM). CYC116 inhibited the mast cell-mediated allergic responses, passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (ED50, ~22.5 mg/kg), and passive systemic anaphylaxis in a dose-dependent manner in laboratory experiments performed on mice. Specifically, CYC116 inhibited the activity of Fyn in mast cells and inhibited the activation of Syk and Syk-dependent signaling proteins including LAT, PLCγ, Akt, and MAP kinases. Our results suggest that CYC116 could be used as an alternative therapeutic medication for mast cell-mediated allergic disorders, such as atopic dermatitis and allergic rhinitis.

해당 서비스는 기존에 정보를 찾는 방법이나 정보를 찾을 상황이 아닌 사용자에게 자동으로 제공하되, 일반적인 길찾기 서비스에서 제공하는 정보 외, 개인화된 경로에 실시간 이벤트 정보를 결합하여 적극적으로 개인화된 정보제공을 하려는 서비스이다. 이러한 차별화된 정보를 제공하기 위하여 우리연구에서는 초개인화 개념을 적용하였다. 또한 프로토타입에 대한 사용자 조사분석을 통해 서비스의 유용성과 필요성을 제시하였다.
The Anti-apoptotic Effect of Ghrelin on Restraint Stress- Induced Thymus Atrophy in Mice

Thymic atrophy is a complication that results from exposure to many environmental stressors, disease treatments, and microbial challenges. Such acute stress-associated thymic loss can have a dramatic impact on the host’s ability to replenish the necessary naïve T cell output to reconstitute the peripheral T cell numbers and repertoire to respond to new antigenic challenges. We have previously reported that treatment with the orexigenic hormone ghrelin results in an increase in the number and proliferation of thymocytes after dexamethasone challenge, suggesting a role for ghrelin in restraint stress-induced thymic involution and cell apoptosis and its potential use as a thymostimulatory agent. In an effort to understand how ghrelin suppresses thymic T cell apoptosis, we have examined the various signaling pathways induced by receptor-specific ghrelin stimulation using a restraint stress mouse model. In this model, stress-induced apoptosis in thymocytes was effectively blocked by ghrelin. Western blot analysis demonstrated that ghrelin prevents the cleavage of pro-apoptotic proteins such as Bim, Caspase-3, and PARP. In addition, ghrelin stimulation activates the Akt and Mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK) signaling pathways in a time/dosedependent manner. Moreover, we also revealed the involvement of the FoxO3a pathway in the phosphorylation of Akt and ERK1/2. Together, these findings suggest that ghrelin inhibits apoptosis by modulating the stress-induced apoptotic signal pathway in the restraint-induced thymic apoptosis.

본 연구에서는 터널 화재시 임계속도에 대한 터널 경사의 영향을 파악하기 위하여 축소모형 실험을 실시하였다. Froude 상사를 사용하여 1/20로 축소된 모형터널에서 실험을 실시하였으며, 가연물질로는 에탄올 사용하였다. 정사각형 풀을 사용하였으며 발열량은 2.47~12.30 kW이다. 임계속도가 발열량의 1/4승에 비례하여 증가하였다. 터널 경사가 증가할수록 굴뚝효과로 인해 연기의 유동속도가 증가하여 임계속도가 증가하였다. In this study, reduced-scale experiments were conducted to analyze an effect of tunnel slope on critical velocity. The 1/20 scale experiments were carried out under the Froude scaling using ethanol pool fire. Square pools ranging from 2.47 to 12.30 kW were used experiments. Critical velocity varied with one-fourth power of the heat release rate. As the slope of the tunnel increases the critical velocity comes to be fast due to the increase of the chimney effect.
Improvement Effect of Soyeom Pharmacopuncture on Gout via NLRP3 Inflammasome Regulation

Objectives: Gout is an inflammatory arthritis of the joints and soft tissues occurring due to deposition of monosodium urate (MSU) crystals, which are caused by persistent hyperuricemia. Soyeom pharmacopuncture is one treatment method that has been traditionally used for pain management in Oriental medicine. However, studies on its effect in reducing gout pain have been insufficient. Therefore, we selected Soyeom pharmacopuncture among natural products used in Korea as the new target of our study. Methods: The effects of Soyeom pharmacopuncture were examined in mouse models of acute gout induced by injection of MSU crystals into footpads. IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α production were examined by immunoblotting and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay as hallmarks of NLRP3 inflammasome and cytokine activation. Results: Soyeom pharmacopuncture reduced foot edema in gout-induced mice, as well as IL-1β, nitrite, IL-6, and TNF-α production. Moreover, Soyeom pharmacopuncture also reduced MSU-induced gout inflammatory gene expressions, specifically those in the NF-kB pathway. Conclusion: Pharmacopuncture may serve as a new solution for other inflammatory diseases as well. Through active follow-up studies, we could thoroughly understand the clinical value of Soyeom pharmacopuncture.
