최근 건축물에너지 절감 및 온실가스 감축에 획기적으로 기여할 수 있는 제로에너지빌딩에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있으며 신재생에너지 의무화 비율 만족을 위하여 신재생에너지 중 태양광과 지열에너지의 공동주택으로의 적용에 대한 시도가 건설사 위주로 적용이 활발히 진행되고 있으나, 태양광 에너지만으로는 부지면적 확보등과 같이 의무화 비율 만족이 어렵기 때문에 지열에너지의 활용과 같이 융합에너지 적용이 절실한 실정이다. 저탄소 녹색성장 실현 및 에너지 소비 최소화를 위하여 신재생에너지 사용은 필수사항이며, 다양한 부하패턴에 대한 대응과 냉난방 부분 에너지 소비 최소화 및 열원간 경쟁력 확보를 위해서는 지열시스템의 최적화 설계가 진행되어야 하고, 에너지 절감 운영에 대한 방안이 필요하다.

Objective : In this study, we performed quantitative comparison on the content of 10 marker compounds in cinnamon barks from different species and found chemical discrimination between genuine Cinnamomum cassia and other Cinnamomum species (Non C. cassia ). Methods : Cinnamon bark samples were extracted using the ultrasonication in 100% methanol for 30 minutes. The samples were analysed using high-performance liquid chromatography with statistical analysis. Results : The analytical method developed in this study met all validation criteria and was applied to the quantification of the 10 marker compounds in cinnamon bark samples. The major chemical discrimination of C. cassia were identified as low content of epicatechin and eugenol, and high contents of benzaldehyde, cinnamaldehyde and cinnamic acid compared to other Non C. cassia samples. Especially, among other compounds, the content of cinnamaldehyde was the highest in the C. cassia and Non C. cassia samples. The result of principal component analysis showed that the samples of C. cassia and Non C. cassia were clearly differentiated via benzaldehyde, cinnamaldehyde, cinnamic acid, eugenol, and epicatechin, which influenced on clustering C. cassia and Non C. cassia samples. Conclusion : C. cassia and Non C. cassia samples were chemically discriminated using the quantitative HPLC analysis. Based on this, it is possible to control the quality of herbal medicines containing Cinnamomi Cortex. It is necessary to further improve the accuracy of discrimination between C. cassia and Non C. cassia species to evaluate cinnamon bark quality.
증례보고 : 특발성 척추 측만증 수술 중에 발생한 악성 고열증

Malignant hyperthermia is a potentially fatal hypermetabolic syndrome characterized by skeletal muscle rigidity and hyperpyrexia. We had an 11-year-old female presented for a surgery for idiopathic scoliosis of the thoracic vertebra. Generalized muscle rigidity and tachycardia were revealed 1 hour 35 minutes after isoflurane administration. Then the body temperature was risen to 43℃ within 10 minutes and the arterial blood gas analysis showed a severe respiratory and metabolic acidosis. Under the suspicion of malignant hyperthermia, the patient was treated by discontinuing all anesthetic agents, hyperventilation with 100% oxygen, surface cooling with ice pack and the administration of dantrolene sodium. But, the patient died of renal failure and disseminated intravascular coagulation after 50 days postoperatively. (Korean J Anesthesiol 2009;57:656∼61)
Therapeutic Applications of Stem Cell-Engineered Nanovesicles Endowed with Magnetic Properties

Owing to their unique properties, mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived exosomes have been actively studied for treatment of wide variety of diseases. However, it still remains challenging to improve the therapeutic outcomes of using exosomes to treat those diseases. Very small quantities of exosomes are released from MSC, and MSC-exosomes poorly accumulate in target tissue after systemic administration. In this study, iron oxide nanoparticles (IONP) were introduced to MSC and the exosome-mimetic nanovesicles were isolated. Treatment of IONP contribute to enhanced expression of therapeutic growth factors in MSC, which are attributed to IONP that are slowly ionized to iron ions. Isolated nanovesicles incorporate not only IONP which act as magnet-navigating tool, but also large amount of therapeutic growth factors. In this thesis, in vivo systemic delivery of IONP-harboring nanovesicles and their therapeutic effects in central nervous system lesions or in injured myocardium are presented.

This paper describes the results of the performance analysis of the airfoil-shaped concentration device installed above a building for BiWP(Building-integrated Wind Power) which recently attracts attention as a local power. The effects of the airfoil-shaped concentration device above a building on the wind velocity increasement examined by a series of detailed numerical analysis using CFD and wind tunnel test. The results show that the airfoil-shaped concentration device above a building increase the wind velocity from 120% to 150%.
