Purpose: The aims are to: (i) display the multidimensional learning curve of totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy, and (ii) verify the feasibility of totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy after learning curve completion by comparing it with laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy. Materials and Methods: From January 2005 to June 2012, 247 patients who underwent laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy (n=136) and totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy (n=111) for early gastric cancer were enrolled. Their clinicopathological characteristics and early surgical outcomes were analyzed. Analysis of the totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy learning curve was conducted using the moving average method and the cumulative sum method on 180 patients who underwent totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy. Results: Our study indicated that experience with 40 and 20 totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy cases, is required in order to achieve optimum proficiency by two surgeons. There were no remarkable differences in the clinicopathological characteristics between laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy and totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy groups. The two groups were comparable in terms of open conversion, combined resection, morbidities, reoperation rate, hospital stay and time to first flatus (P>0.05). However, totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy had a significantly shorter mean operation time than laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy (P<0.01). We also found that intra-abdominal abscess and overall complication rates were significantly higher before the learning curve than after the learning curve (P<0.05). 최근 디스플레이 기술 발전과 함께 AMOLED(Active Matrix OLED) 패널(Panel)의 생산과 수요가 급증하고 있다. AMOLED 패널은 기본적으로 LCD와는 다르게 백라이트(Backlight)를 필요로 하지 않아 적은 소비전력으로 선명도 있는 영상의 출력이 가능하다. 따라서 세계적으로 AMOLED 시장이 커지고 있다. 이에 따라 생산에 필요한 검사 장치의 수요도 확산되고 있다. AMOLED 패널 에이징(Aging) 시스템의 검사 장치는 MES(Manufacturing Execution System), MIS(Management Information System)와 연동하여 운영되며, 네트워크 환경을 구축하는 것이 효율적이다. 패널 에이징에 사용되는 검사 장치는 다중 신호를 출력하는 기능을 가진 신호 생성기(Pattern Generator)이다. 다수개의 신호 생성기를 운영하기 위해서는 효율적인 설계가 필요하다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 신호 생성기를 원격으로 통합 제어하기 위한 방법과 AMOLED 패널을 구동시키기 위한 방법을 제안하고 이를 구현하였으며, 이에 따른 타이밍과 전원 설정 결과를 제시하였다. Recently, with the development of display technology, AMOLED(Active Matrix OLED) panel production and demand are increasing. Unlike LCD, AMOLED panel basically does not need backlight, so it can output clear images with low power consumption. Therefore, the AMOLED market is growing globally. Accordingly, the demand for inspection devices required for production is also expanding. The inspection device of the AMOLED panel aging system operates in conjunction with MES(Manufacturing Execution System) and MIS(Management Information System), and it is efficient to construct network environment. The inspection device used for panel aging is a pattern generator capable of outputting multiple signals. Efficient design is required to operate multiple signal generators. To solve this problem, the proposed system proposed a method for remotely controlling the signal generator remotely and a method for driving the AMOLED panel. And the timing and power setting results are presented.
Toxocara canis Mimicking a Metastatic Omental Mass from Sigmoid Colon Cancer: A Case Report

Toxocara canis is an important roundworm of canids and a fearsome animal parasite of humans. Human infections can lead to syndromes called visceral larva migrans (VLM), ocular larva migrans, neurotoxocariasis, and covert toxocariasis. VLM is most commonly diagnosed in children younger than 8 years of age, but adult cases are relatively frequent among those infected by ingesting the raw tissue of paratenic hosts in East Asia. This research reports the case of a 59-year-old man with sigmoid colon cancer, who visited our institution for surgery. An intraperitoneal mass was found on preoperative computed tomography, and it was thought to be a metastatic mass from sigmoid colon cancer. A postoperative histologic examination and serum test showed eosinophilic granuloma due to toxocariasis. Diagnosis of VLM is often difficult and highly suspicious in adults. Researchers suggest, although rarely, that VLM be included in the differential diagnosis as a cause of intraperitoneal tumors.
Communicative Language Teaching and Second Language Acquisition : Are They Bedfellows?

The advent of CLT in the 1980s led to the CLT-SLA debate which continued unabated for the last forty years. This paper asks, Does the now dominant Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) promote Second Language Acquisition (SLA)? In addressing this question, the paper first reviews and explains the social academic history of CLT; different versions of CLT (strong, weak); how CLT operates; its relationship to SLA, such as perceptions of SLA that have contributed to the development of CLT pedagogy (communicative competence, input, output, interaction hypothesis); and techniques used in CLT. Next, it deliberates on the most controversial issues of the CLT-SLA debate, including language forms, corrective feedback, teachers' perceptions of and approaches to CLT, and classroom conditions, followed by a discussion of the ease/difficulty of implementing CLT. It concludes with a discussion of how teachers can best practice CLT in their classrooms.

A highly efficient n-Si/p-Cu2O core-shell (C-S) nanowire (NW)photodiode was fabricated using Cu2O grown by atomic layer deposition(ALD) on a well-ordered Si NW array. Ordered Si nanowires arrayswere fabricated by nano-sphere lithography to pattern metal catalystsfor the metal-assisted etching of silicon, resulting in a Si NW arrayswith a good arrangement, smooth surface and small diameterdistribution. The ALD-Cu2O thin films were grown using a new nonfluorinatedCu precursor, bis(1-dimethylamino-2-methyl-2-butoxy)copper(C14H32N2O2Cu), and water vapor (H2O) at 140°C. Transmissionelectron microscopy equipped with an energy dispersive spectrometerconfirmed that p-Cu2O thin films had been coated over arrayed Si NWswith a diameter of 150 nm (aspect ratio of ~7.6). The C-S NWphotodiode exhibited more sensitive photodetection performance underultraviolet illumination as well as an enhanced photocurrent density inthe forward biasing region than the planar structure diode. The superiorperformance of C-S NWs photodiode was explained by the lowerreflectance of light and the effective carrier separation and collectionoriginating from the C-S NWs structure.
