Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of tongue cleaner-equipped manual toothbrush on tooth cleanness, tongue cleanness and malodor index. Materials and methods: 504 subjects were included in this study. At 1st visit, basic information such as age, sex, smoking amount and alcohol consumption was recorded. Self assessment by individual subjects was performed regarding satisfaction to old toothbrush and toothbrushing habit. Tooth cleanness, tongue cleanness and malodor index was assessed by professional researcher. Tongue cleaner-equipped manual toothbrush was given to each subject with proper toothbrushing instruction. After 1 month passed, self assessment and researcher assessment regarding the same index were performed and analyzed statistically by chi-square test. Results: At 1st visit subjects seem to ignore tongue cleansing and showed poor tooth cleanness index, tongue cleanness index and malodor index, however the same subjects were motivated to clean their tongue and teeth and presented statistically improved distribution pattern in tooth cleanness index, tongue cleanness index and malodor index after using tongue cleaner-equipped manual toothbrush(p<0.01). Satisfaction to tongue cleaner-equipped manual toothbrush was 98%. Conclusion: Tongue cleaner-equipped manual toothbrush would be an effective tool for maintaining good oral hygiene through improving tooth and tongue cleanness and preventing malodor formation.

But it couldn't draw a conclusion by religious community, the medical profession and related legal system etc. However, recently, the try are showing again. Nowadays discussions and interests about death with dignity are increasing gradually to government and whole of society. Therefore, examine the each countries opposing discussion. And should be sought reasonable solutions for its admissibility and validity. And to prepare the related legislation, review all the matters to National Bioethics Committee and in charge of the advice and decision about family. And if they can control the process of treatment interruption through the Commission. Then, it will be able to achieve the social consensus about the basis of treatment's discontinuation and will be able to escape from present practice that made by agreement between the family and the individual physician under the unclear standard. The decision of the judgment between 'unrecoverable patients' and 'terminal patients' is the decision of the judgment between 'unrecoverable patients' and 'terminal patients' is including the clear procedures that be the basis of judgment for medical standards of judgment. Also, may be considered the ways that participation of at least two or more doctors. The unrecoverable patients, they do not have the opportunity to express their free opinions. In order to overcome this, the preparation of the legal basis is essential about agree on the consent of agents. 우리나라에 떠들썩한 이슈로 부각되었던 '김할머니'사건은 존엄사에 대하여 대한민국 최초로 인정되는 결과로 이어졌다. 대법원의 국내 첫 존엄사 인정 판결 이후 관련 사회협의체 구성 및 활동과 신상진 의원의 법안 발의로 활발히 논의된 존엄사는 종교계, 의료계, 관련 법제 등의 이유로 이견을 좁히지 못하여 결론을 도출해 내지 못하였으나 최근 들어 다시금 존엄사에 대하여 논의를 재계하려는 움직임이 보이고 있다. 존엄사에 대한 논의와 관심이 정부와 국민 사회 전반에 점차적으로 증가하고 있는 지금 존엄사를 인정하고 있는 각국의 입법례와 우리나라에서 서로 대립하여 논의 되었던 바를 살펴보고 그 허용성과 타당성에 대하여 합리적인 해결방안을 모색하고 관련 법제 마련을 위하여 국가생명윤리심의위원회에 제반 사항의 검토와 가족에 대한 권고, 결정을 담당하게 하고 위원회를 통해 치료중단의 과정을 절차적으로 통제할 수 있게 된다면, 치료중단의 기준에 대한 사회적인 합의를 이루어나갈 수 있을 것이며, 불분명한 기준 아래 개별 의사와 가족 간의 합의로 이루어지는 지금까지의 관행에서 벗어날 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 위원회는 치료중단 결정에 관여한 가족과 의료진의 윤리적 부담과 법률적 불안정성을 해소시켜줄 수도 있을 것이다. '회복불능상태의 환자' 또는 '말기상태의 환자'의 판단여부의 결정은 판단의 근거가 될 수 있는 의학적 판단의 기준이 되는 명확한 절차를 포함하면서 최소한 2인 이상의 의사가 참여하는 방안을 고려할 수 있을 것이다. 의식불능의 환자에게는 자유로운 의사를 표명할 기회가 없으므로 특정한 타인에게 의사를 대행하게 하고 그 자의 의사결정을 생명주체의 의사결정으로 대신하는 방법인 대리인의 동의를 고려할 필요가 있다. 이 경우 대리인의 생명에 대한 결정이 환자 자신의 결정권과 동일한 가치로 볼 수 있는가에 대하여 법적 논란이 제기되는데, 이를 극복하기 위하여 대리인의 동의의 경우에 그 동의에 대한 법적 근거의 마련이 필수적인 것이다.

특허와 논문으로 본 PET 폐자원의 화학원료화 및 고부가 활용기술 동향

1990년대에 들어서면서 폐플라스틱을 화학적으로 재활용하여 환경문제나 경제적 문제를 해결해보려는 노력이 증대되었고, 이 추세에 따라 폐 PET를 화학적으로 재활용하여 원료화하려는 시도가 활발해졌다. 본 연구에서는 PET 폐자원의 화학원료화 및 고부가 활용기술에 대한 특허와 논문을 분석하였다. 분석범위는 1974년에서 2013년까지의 미국, 유럽연합, 일본, 한국의 등록/공개된 특허와 SCI 논문으로 제한하였다. 특허와 논문은 키워드를 사용하여 수집하였으며, 기술의 정의에 의해 필터링 하였다. 특허와 논문의 동향은 연도, 국가, 기업, 기술 등에 따라 분석하여 고찰하였다. Since 1990s, efforts to recycle the waste plastics by chemical methods have increased. And in accordance with this trend, attempts have become active to use the waste PET as raw materials of chemical industries. In this article, the patents and papers for development of commercial technology for feedstock recycling and high end products from PET wastes were collected and analyzed. The open patents of USA (US), European Union (EP), Japan (JP), and Korea (KR) and SCI journals from 1974 to 2013 were investigated. The patents and papers were collected using key-words and filtered by the definition of the technology. The patents and papers were analyzed by the years, countries, companies, and technologies and the technical trends were discussed in this paper.

우분으로부터 Bacillus subtilis CH-10의 분리 및 균주가 분비하는 Cellulase의 특성에 관한 연구

우분으로부터 cellulase를 생산하는 미생물을 congo red 염색과 활성측정을 통해 선발하여 cellulase 활성이 우수한 균을 분리하였다. 분리균은 생화학적, 형태학적, 균체 지방산 조성을 근거로 Bacillus subtilis CH-10으로 동정하였다. 분리균이 분비하는 효소학적 특성 중 효소생산 조건은 초기 pH7.5 및 배양돈도 50${\circ}C$ 그리고 48시간 배양이 가장 적합하였다. 조효소액에서 CMCase 최적 온도는 75${\circ}C$이었고, 온도안정성은 50${\circ}C$까지 70%의 효소활성을 유지하였다. 조효소액에서 CMCase 최적 pH는 7.5이었고, pH 안정성은 pH7.5~9.0 영역에서 70%의 효소활성을 유지하였다. 분리균을 CMC 배지에서 37${\circ}C$, 24시간 배양시 나타난 CMCase와 Fpase 활성은 각각 1.13 U/㎖와 0.16U/㎖ 였으나 avicelase와 ${\beta}$-glucosidase의 활성은 검출되지 않았다. CMC-SDS-PAGE 방법으로 3개의 효소활성 band를 확인하였고, Cel 1 및 2 그리고 Cel 3의 분자량은 각각 약 39 및 41 그리고 57kDa이었다. A bacterium producing the extracellular cellulase was isolated from cattle feces and screened as cellulase activity was excellent upon congo red straining method and activity measurements. Isolate was identified as Bacillus subtilis CH-10 on the basis of morphological and biochemical properties as well as cellular fatty acids composition. The enzyme which the isolate secretes had the optimum initial pH and temperature for its induction was 7.5 and 50${\circ}C$, respectively. The maximum CMCase activity in crude enzyme solution was observed at pH 7.5 and 75${\circ}C$ and was stable for pH 7.5 to 9.0 to maintain 70% activity. When the isolate was cultured in CMC media at 37${\circ}C$ for 24 hrs, CMCase and FPase activity was 1.13 U/㎖and 0.16U/㎖, respectively whereas Avicelase and ${\beta}$-glucosidase activity was not detected. When crude supernatant was used for zymogram, three major bands, cel 1, cel 2 and cel 3, were detected approximately 39, 41 and 57 KDa, respectively on CMC-SDS-PAGE.

녹차추출물/L-Theanine 혼합물의 Secretase 활성 억제 및 세포사 억제를 통한 기억력 회복능

We examined the effect of green tea extract (GTE) and L-theanine combination on the $A{\beta}_{1-42}$-induced memory dysfunction. GTE and combination were administrated into mice for 3 weeks followed by injection of $A{\beta}_{1-42}$ to induce memory impairment. GTE and L-theanine administration significantly improved cognitive ability and reduced $A{\beta}_{1-42}$ level accompanied with the inhibition of neuronal cell death and activities of secretase. These results suggest that GTE and L-theanine combination may be a useful for preventing for the development or progression of Alzheimer's disease.
