        An Exploratory Study for Assessing Personnel Management Effectiveness in Travel Agencies

        The background of this study is based on questioning previous studies on personnel management effectiveness in travel agencies. The purpose of this study is to investigate the fundamental theory on personnel management and methods as well as meanings of assessing the effectiveness through an exploratory study. According to the result, it is found that the travel agency has shortcomings in systematic personnel management. Therefore, it is important to establish a common performance evaluation system in the travel agency industry, and it is critical to reconsider methods of evaluating the effectiveness of personnel management. In addition, it is necessary to explore a new approach to make employees maintain their optimal competency and attitude.

      • 한국형 주 보호자용 노인우울 간이척도(KGDSI-15)의 신뢰도와 타당도 분석

        Purpose: The study examined the psychometric properties of the Korean Geriatric Depression Scale Informant-15 (KGDSI-15), an instrument measuring geriatric depression through their primary caregivers. Methods: The participants were 370 Korean older adults $\geqq$65-years-of-age registered in a visiting health center in S city. The Korean version of Geriatric Depression Scale-Short Form (GDSSF-K) was used for comparison. Internal consistency measured tool reliability and Pearson correlation coefficient measured validity. One-way ANOVA was used to determine the clinical usability of the instrument: depression levels were classified as normal, mild depression, and severe using GDSSF-K, and the depression scores of these three groups were comparatively measured by KGDSI-15. Results: The Cronbach's alpha coefficient was .831. The correlation coefficient with GDSSF-K was r=.616 (p<.001). KGDSI-15 results showed the depression level of older adults with severe depression was highest followed by those with mild depression and normal. The group differences were also statistically significant, which indicated the clinical usability of the instrument. Conclusion: KGDSI-15 is suggested to be reliable and valid to measure the geriatric depression through the primary caregivers of older adult.

        노인정보화와 노인복지간의 관계: 공무원, 전문가 및 노인의 인식을 중심으로

        노인정보화에 대한 정책적・이론적 관심이 미약한 상황 하에서, 본 연구는 빠른 고령화와 급속한 정보화라는 서로 갈등할 소지가 많은 양대 현상을 경험하고 예상할 수 있는 한국사회에서 노인복지수요를 해소하는 데 유효한 수단으로 이론적으로 그리고 정책적으로 제시되고 있는 정보화의 기여 여부에 대해, 해당 정책을 추진하는 실무자, 노인복지 또는 정보화를 전공분야로 하는 전문가, 그리고 정책의 대상자인 노인 등 관련집단간 인식의 공유 또는 차이를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이들 3개 집단에 대한 의견조사를 통해 다음과 같은 몇 가지 주된 발견사실을 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 정보기술은 노인의 복지수요 전반, 건강, 경제, 사회, 자아 문제 등을 해결하는 데 모두 기여하지만 경제문제 해소에 있어서 정보기술의 기여는 상대적으로 매우 적을 수 있다는 점이다. 둘째, 노인의 복지수요에 대한 노인집단과 타 집단간의 괴리를 축소할 수 있는 방안의 모색이 필요하다는 점이다. 셋째 노인들의 경우 사회적 문제가 가장 중요한 복지수요라는 점에서, 적어도 체계적인 수요파악을 통한 종합적인 사업 또는 정책의 구상이 이루어지기 전에라도 노인들의 사회적 문제 해소를 위한 정보화를 단기적인 사업으로 구상할 필요가 있다는 점이다. [주제어: 노인복지, 노인정보화, 정보격차] Does Information Technology Meet the Welfare Needs of Seniors? Kim, Yong-Soon, Choi, Young-Hoon The authors answer the question of whether informatization satisfies the welfare needs of seniors based upon survey data obtained from public officials, experts, and seniors. Findings show that information technology is of limited effect in meeting economic needs when compared to other needs. Findings indicate that necessary steps are needed to bridge the gaps between practitioners and seniors in the assessment of needs for seniors.

        재난 관련 표준매뉴얼의 위기경보 개선방안에 관한 연구

        Korea has been preparing and operating crisis management standardized manuals so that over 30 disaster types that needto be managed at the national level can be selected and systematically managed. This study analyzed the crisis alert levelsof two standard manuals related to the case with reference to the contents of the Framework Act on the Management ofDisaster and Safety and National Crisis Management Basic Guidelines. According to the Act and Guidelines, crisis alertsare issued before a crisis or disaster, but the criteria of crisis alerts of the two manuals showed that the national crisis hadalready occurred and the disaster occurred due to a marine vessel accident at the serious level. In addition, the results oftiming of issuance of crisis alert were reviewed. If the signs can be identified, a crisis alert may be issued prior to theoccurrence of the incident, but a crisis alert cannot be issued when an incident occurs without a sign. In the case of anincident where there are no signs, but there is a possibility of spreading to a national level disaster, the disaster managementsupervision agency could issue a crisis alert. 우리나라는 국가적 차원에서 관리가 필요한 30여개의 재난유형을 선정하여 체계적으로 대처할 수 있도록 위기관리 표준매뉴얼을 작성 운영하고 있다. 본 연구는 사례와 관련된 표준매뉴얼 2종의 위기경보 수준을 재난 및 안전관리 기본법과 국가위기관리 기본지침의 내용과 비교하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 위기경보는 위기 또는 재난발생 이전에 발령하게 되어 있는데, 두 매뉴얼의 판단기준에는 심각단계에서 이미 국가위기상황이 발생하고, 해양선박사고로인하여 재난이 발생한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 위기경보 발령 시기를 검토한 결과 징후를 식별할 수 있는 경우에는상황발생 이전에 위기경보를 발령할 수 있지만, 징후 없이 상황이 발생한 경우에는 위기경보를 발령할 수 없다고보았다. 그리고 징후 없이 상황이 발생한 경우지만 국가적 차원의 재난으로 확산될 우려가 있는 경우는 재난관리주관기관이 위기경보를 발령할 수 있다고 보았다.

      • 觀光호텔 勞使關係에 관한 實證的 硏究

        The Purposes of this study are to find out various significant factors impinging on the stability of labor-relations. Specifically, the management system of tourist hotels was selected as independent variables, and the stability of labor-relations was employed as subordinate variables. The samples of this study were 57 hotels in Seoul. Pusan, Taigu, Taijun, Kyeongju, and Kyeongnam province. It was found that the management system of tourist hotels and the employee s characteristics have significant on labor harmony. Labor harmony appeared to be affected in the order of reward system, management policies, and job attitude of the employees. Rationalization of reward system lower frequency of labor strifes, and thus higher stability of labor-relations may be obtained when tourist hotel employees feel that the rewards for their successfully accomplished tasks are equal compared with other employees' reward, and when the welfare policies for the employees are felt satisfactory.

        간호사 임파워먼트와 윤리적 민감성

        This study was to identify the degree of empowerment and ethical sensitivity of staff nurses and to examine the relationship between empowerment and ethical sensitivity. Method: Data were collected from 235 staff nurses in 4 hospitals in Gyeonggi Province using a questionnaire and collected data was analyzed by the SPSS PC program. Results: The degree of empowerment was 2.76(±.35) out of a possible score of 4 and that of ethical sensitivity was 0.71(±.11) out of a possible score of 1. The relationship of between empowerment and ethical sensitivity showed statistically significant positive correlation(r=.34, p=.00). For general characteristics, there was a significant difference in empowerment according to age(F=13.18, p=.00), educational background(t=-2.09, p=.04) and clinical practice career(F=15.15, p=.00) and in ethical sensitivity according to age(F=4.01, p=.02). In characteristics related to ethics, there was a significant difference in empowerment according to experience of ethics instruction in clinical practice(t=2.25, p=.03), attitude toward the nursing profession(F=7.96, p=.00) and ethical standards(F=9.39, p=.00) and in ethical sensitivity according to attitude toward the nursing profession(F=2.94, p=.03). Conclusion: Findings suggest that a systemic and effective training program reflecting the above general and related ethics characteristics be developed to enhance empowerment and ethical sensitivity.
