A modified generalized particle algorithm, MGPA, was suggested to improve the computational efficiency of standard SPH method in numerical analysis of high speed impact behavior. This method uses a numerical failure mechanism than material failure models to describe the target penetration. MGPA algorithm was more effective to describe the impact phenomena and new boundaries produced during the calculation process were well recognized and treated in the target penetration problem of a bullet. When bullet perforation problems were analyzed by this method, MGPA algorithm calculation gives the stable numerical solution and stress oscillation or particle penetration phenomena were not shown. The error range in ballistic velocity limit is less than $2{\sim}13%$ for various target thickness.
그래프 임베딩과 관련된 이항 트리에서의 Q-에지 번호매김에 관한 연구

본 논문에서는 그래프 임베딩 문제와 관련된 이항트리에서의 Q-에지 번호매김 방법을 제안한다. 이러한 연구결과는 신뢰성이 높은 통신망을 설계하는 최적화 문제인 "n 개의 노드와 e 개의 에지를 가지면서 연결도가 최대인 그래프를 구성하라."를 해결한 Harary 그래프의 일반화인 원형군 그래프(circulant graph)의 점프열로 Q-에지번호들을 이용하면 연결도가 최대인 신뢰성이 높은 새로운 상호연결망(interconnection networks)의 위상을 설계할 수 있다. 그리고 이러한 위상은 이항트리를 스패닝 트리로 가지므로 최적방송이 가능하다. In this paper, we propose the Q-edge labeling method related to the graph embedding problem in binomial trees. This result is able to design a new reliable interconnection networks with maximum connectivity using Q-edge labels as jump sequence of circulant graph. The circulant graph is a generalization of Harary graph which is a solution of the optimal problem to design a maximum connectivity graph consists of n vertices End e edgies. And this topology has optimal broadcasting because of having binomial trees as spanning tree.

After investigating the analytic model to predict penetration depth, we propose an analytical model which can be used in estimating the normal penetration characteristics of small projectiles, when they are impacted to the concrete targets with ordnance velocities. The major parameters of this model are nose factor of penetrator, compressive strength and density of targets, and impact velocity. We can predict accelerations, velocities, displacements of projectiles and applied forces by this proposed model. Estimated penetration depths were shown 5% error. We also verified the usefulness of the new method with laboratory impact test data.

본 논문에서는 새로운 병렬 컴퓨터의 위상인 후위순회 피보나치 원형군을 제안하고 그 성질들을 분석한다. 후위순회 피보나치 원형군은 같은 크기의 노드 개수를 갖는 피보나치 큐브와 비교해서 지름은 n-2에서 $[\frac{n}{3}]$으로 개선되었고 비대칭적인 위상에서 노드 대칭적인 위상이 되었다. 그리고 피보나치 큐브를 스패닝 그래프로 갖는다. In this paper, We propose a new parallel computer topology, called the Postorder Fibonacci Circulants and analyze its properties. It is compared with Fibonacci cubes, when its number of nodes is kept the same of comparable one. Its diameter is improved from n-2 to $[\frac{n}{3}]$ and its topology is changed from asymmetric to symmetric. It includes Fibonacci cube as a spanning graph.

Effect of a Sunken Mat Foundation on the Horizontal Design Spectrum of a Structure

In this paper, horizontal seismic responses of a structure built on a sunken mat foundation were compared with those built on a solid embedded mat foundation to investigate the effect of a sunken mat foundation on the horizontal response of a structure. Seismic analyses of a structure laid on the embedded mat foundation were performed by utilizing a pseudo-3D finite element software of P3DASS. Three bedrock earthquake records downloaded from the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center database were scaled to reproduce weak-moderate earthquakes. Weak, medium, and stiff soil layers were considered for the seismic analyses of the structure-foundation-soil system. Parametric studies were performed for foundation radius, foundation embedment depth, and shear wave velocity of a soil layer to investigate their effect on the seismic response spectrum. The study result showed that the design spectrum of a structure built on a sunken mat foundation was similar to that with a solid embedded mat foundation showing a slight difference due to almost the same seismic base motion beneath both embedded foundations.
