        Phellinus linteus 균사 배양물로부터 분리한 단백다당체 Kp의 항암활성

        A protein-polysaccaride fraction Kp(53.9% polysaccharide, 14.2% protein) was separated from the shake-cultured mycelia of a basidiomycetous fungus, Phellinus linteus, and its antitumor activity against sarcoma 180 in ICR mice was investigated. When administered after the tumor implantation, Kp exerted antitumor activity by inhibiting the growth of the sarcoma 180 solid tumor by 71.5% and increasing the life span of the sarcoma 180 ascitic mice by 51.5% at 100 mg/kg. In pretreatment tests, in which Kp was administered once daily for 9 days before the tumor implantation, Kp inhibited the growth of the solid and ascites form of sarcoma 180, respectively, by 35.4% and by 80.3% at 100 mg/kg. However, Kp showed no in vitro cytotoxic activity against a murine leukemia L1210 and a human gastric tumor SNU.1 upto the concentration of 200 mcg/ml. From these results, it is clear that the antitumor activity of Kp is exerted through its immunomodulating activity on the host''s immune system.

        아버지의 역할수행과 아동의 성취동기에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study were to identify the importance of fathers'roles on children. A survey was carreid out on 458 (227 boys and 231 girls) 6th-graders at randomly chosen 4 elementary schools in Kwangju. Frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation and pearson's coefficient were checked and one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test and multiple regression analysis were also carried out on the collected data. The results were as follows: 1. Evaluation of fathers' role performance depending on background variables ranged from 46.17 to 58.51 points(equivalent to 61.56~78.01 points in the 100-point scale). Background variables that caused statistically significant difference were children's sex, fathers' religion (whether they had one or not), fathers' education, monthly family income and decision-makers at home. The degrees of fathers' role performance were higher when the answerers were girls, when fathers had religions, when fathers educational level was higher, when the family income was higher, and when all family members participated in the decisioin-making. 2. Evaluation of children's achievement motivation depending on background variables ranged from 77.17 to 84.34 points(equivalent to 68.90~75.35 points in the 100-point scale). Background variables that caused statistically significant differences were children's sex and decision-makers at home. Children's achievement motivation were higher in the case of girls and when all family members participated in the decisioin-making. 3. When it comes to the children's achievement motivation in relatio to fathers' role performance. 1) The overall aspect of fathers' role performance caused significant differences in children's achievement motivation. 2) The influence of fathers' role performance of children's achievement motivation was highest in the investigation-faciliator role ( =.25) and then the economic role ( =.14) and the valuetransmitter role ( =.14). The explanative power of these variables was 22%.

        검정곰팡이의 분화에 따른 총탄수화물 및 트레하로즈량의 변동에 대한 연구

        The changes of total carbohydrates and trehalose levels during differentiation of A. niger were studied. Aspergillus niger was cultivated in Czapeck-Dox medium by the method of surface culture and shake culture. Total carbohydrates and trehalose were fractionated and determined by the method of Trevelyan and Harrison (1956). Total carbohydrates and trehalose accumulated in A. niger during sporulation. The influences of nutritional starvation on the levels of cellular carbohydrates in A. niger, which was cultivated in each nitrogen, phosphate and glucose limited Czapeck-Dox medium, were studied. The levels of total carbohydrates and trehalose in A. niger cultivated in nitrogen limited medium increased much than those cultured in full medium. The total carborates and trehalose levels in A. niger cultivated in phosphate limited medium increased, but the increases were less than those cultured in nitrogen limited medium. In glucose limited medium, any changes of total carbohydrates and trehalose levels were not found. It is considered that the biochemical mechanisms responsible for the changes of total carbohydrates and trehalose levels may be related with differentiation of Aspergillus niger.

      • 증발잔류 광물의 광물학적 연구

        This study has focused on mineralogical and geochemical characteritics of evaporated minerals from the mine waters and on variation of constituents in mine water during the evaporation The evaporated minerals are shown in mine waters at the field. In order to form of evaporates in the laboratory, mine waters were sampled from the abandoned mine area(HS, LG and BJ) and were air dried in laboratory for room temperature. During the evaporation of mine waters, TDS, EC values and the concentration of major and minor ions increased, whereas dissolved oxygen(DO) values decreased with the sampling time. Gypsum, epsomite, kaolinite, dolomite and illite were identified in BJ sample, gypsum and epsomite were observed in LG sample, and gypsum, epsomite and vermiculite were founded in HS sample by x-ray powder diffraction studies. The infrared spectra for evaporated minerals show major absorption banded due to OH stretching, adsorbed molecular water and sulfate stretching, respectively. Evaporated minerals were heated at 65, 150, 250 and 350℃ for 1 hour in electrical Furnaces. Gypsum transformed the bassanite at 150℃ heating temperature and epsomite transformed the hexa-hydrite at 65℃, and then converted the kieserite at 250℃. With increasing heating temperature, the intensity of absorption OH band(3407 11㎝^(-1)), adsorbed molecular water band (1654.39㎝^(-1)) and sulfate stretching band (1113.46㎝^(-1)) were decreased, whereas sulfate stretching bands(668.35㎝^(-1) and 603.85㎝^(-1)) were relatively increased in IR due to dehydration.

      • 산성광산배수 및 증발잔류광물에 대한 지구화학적 연구

        This study investigated geochemical characteristics of acid mine drainage(AMD) discharged from the abandoned coal mine and gold mine. Water sample of acid mine drainage were collected from 9 locations at Hwasun, Kwangyang, Chonam, Taback and Sangdong area. The yellowish and brown color of evaporated material was prepared by air dry for 9 acid water samples during 20 days in the laboratory As the 9 acid water samples become fully drying, the concentration of this water become progressively more concentrated and its may be eventually reached saturation with respect to either gypsum or ferrohexahydrite. The value of density for acid mine drainage increase with increasing TDS and EC values. The value of activity for acid mine drainage increase with those real ion concentration. The x-ray powder diffraction studies identified that the evaporated materials were gypsum, ferrohexahydrite and kaolinite. Diagnostic peaks used for identification of gypsum were the 7.62, 4.28, 3.80, 3.07, 2.88, 2.68, 2.22, 1.90 and 1.62Å peaks. Diffraction peaks at 6.00, 5.48, 5.13, 4.89, 4.40, 3.46, 3.20, 3.03, 2.97, 2.94, 2.79, 2.27 2.09Å may indicate ferrohexahydrite. In the SEM and EDS analysis, the crystals of acicular and columnar in the evaporated materials probably shown the gypsum.
