PI(proportional-integral) controller has been extensively used in the industrial world. But in this controller it is difficult to tune PI gains. Evolution Strategy is used as an effective search algorithm in optimization programs. In this paper we propose a PI controller for DC motor position control using Evolution Strategy with varying search space. Evolution Strategy with varying search space which depends on fitness values at each generation is used to tune PI control parameters. Simulation result show the proposed algorithm has accurate and robust performance with effective search ability.

The neural network control can roughly be classified as the direct control and indirect control schemes. When using direct control scheme, there is need to know the Jacobian of plant. However when the plant is ill-defined, we can not get Jacobian of plant. Rather than using the direct control scheme, an indirect control scheme is alternative. This scheme is applicable even when the plant is ill-defined. but this scheme requires two neural network : namely Neural Network Controller and Neural Network Emulator. In this study indirect control scheme is adopted for Induction Motor speed control. A back propagation algorithm is used to train neural network controller and. emulator. The simulation results show that this neural network system can provide good dynamical responses.

This paper presents a new algorithm for two level optimal control to non-linear systems. The proposed method is simple because the solutions are obtained by only exchaging informations of coefficient vector based on interaction prediction principle and Walsh Transformation in upper and lower level. Since we solve two point boundary problem with backward integral operational matrix of Walsh Function to obtain the optimal vector of each independent subsystem, we can reduce more operational burden than conventional numerical method. In simulation, the proposed algorithm's usefulness is proved by comparison with global optimal control methods.
