서양 의학의 수용과 신체관의 변화 - 최한기의 {身機踐驗}을 중심으로

조선에서는 서양 의학이 전래되면서 동양적인 신체관과 서양적인 신체관이 자연스럽게 습합하기도 하고, 양자가 상호 대립하면서 논점을 형성하기도 하였다. 18세기 이래로 형성되기 시작한 주요 논점으로는 두 가지를 꼽을 수 있다. 하나는 서양 해부학의 효과를 얼마나 긍정하는가의 문제이고, 다른 하나는 知覺을 주관하는 것이 심장인가 뇌인가의 문제이다. 이런 논점은 서양의 신체관을 타자화하는 것이면서, 그것을 통해 동양의 전통적 신체관을 정식화하는 것이기도 했다. 조선에서 서양 의학의 영향이나 신체관의 변화가 뚜렷한 진전을 보인 것은 崔漢綺에 이르러서였다. 그의 새로운 신체관의 특징은 두 가지로 요약할 수 있다. 하나는 신체에 대해 기계론적인 관점을 강조하는 것이고, 다른 하나는 신체의 지각 능력을 강조하는 것이다. 그러나 그의 기계론적 신체관은 神氣論의 간섭을 받고, 지각설은 神氣均衡說이라 할 수 있는 다소 애매한 측면을 가지고 있었다. 이러한 신체관은 그가 서양 의학과 신기 개념의 접합을 통해 새롭게 확립한 것이지만, 양자 사이의 접합이 완전했다고 보기는 어려운 면이 있었다. 이 점은 그가 의학의 기초로 생각한 물리학 방면에서도 그대로 나타났다. 그는 화학원소론과 기론의 접합을 추구했지만, 궁극적으로 신기론의 유기체론적 성격을 포기하지 않는 한 그 접합은 성공하기 어려웠다. 그런 만큼 최한기의 새로운 신체관 역시 불완전한 임시 건조물의 성격을 벗어날 수 없는 것이었다. 그러나 기계론과 유기체론의 접합이라는 그의 시도 자체는, 그 문제가 오늘날까지 해소되지 않고 있는 거대 문제라는 점에서 사상사적 가치를 부인하기 어렵다고 할 수 있다. In relation to body conception, the introduction of western medicine to Joseon Korea started off some points in disputes: the one was whether the western anatomy was positive or not, the other was whether the cognition was ruled by heart or brain. In the long run of these disputes, that who had clarified the change of body conception was Choi Han Kee. His new conception of body was characterized as follow: on the one hand, it emphasized the mechanical conception of body; on the other hand, it emphasized the cognitive ability of body. But that his conception of body had obscure points: that is, its mechanical conception was intervened by chi(神氣), and his doctrine of cognition searched for the origin of cognition in balance of chi of the body. He had set up this conception of body by the combination of western medicine and chi, but the combination did not seem to be perfect. This point had appeared again in his conception of physics that he thought the basis of medicine. He had pursed the combination of chemical element and chi, but it could not be accomplished successfully unless he had abandoned the organicist conception of chi. In conclusion, his new conception of body was not free from the suspicion of a incomplete tentative construction.

프락토올리고당의 첨가가 딸기잼의 품질특성에 미치는 영향

본 연구에서는 보교조생(Bogyo-joseng)과 수홍(Suhong) 딸기에 설탕량의 25, 50, 75, 100%로 프락토올리고당을 대체하여 잼을 제조한 후, 수분, pH, 색도, 스프레드메타치, 당도, 환원당함량, 안토시아닌 잔존율, 기계적인 texture및 관능검사를 실시하여 그 품질 특성을 비교 검토하였다. 수분함량은 수홍이 보교조생보다 다소 높았다. pH는 보교조생과 수홍 잼이 각각 동일하였으며, 시료간에 유의차가 없었다 L, a, b값 모두 보교조생이 수홍보다 다소 높았다. 스프레드메타치는 보교조생과 수홍 잼 모두 프락토올리고당의 첨가량이 많아질수록 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 당도는 수홍이 보교조생보다 다소 높았다. 환원당 함량은 수홍이 보교조생보다 다소 높았고, 보교조생과 수홍 잼 모두 설탕만 첨가한 잼에 비해 프락토올리고당의 첨가량이 많아질수록 점차 증가하였다. 안토시아닌 잔존율은 보교조생 잼은 설탕만 첨가한 잼에 비하여 프락토올리고당을 첨가했을 때 모두 감소하는 경향을 나타냈으며, 수홍 잼은 프락토올리고당을 50% 첨가했을 때만 다소 증가하였고, 나머지는 모두 감소하였다. Springiness(탄력성) 및 cohesiveness(응집성)은 보교조생과 수홍 잼 모두 프락토올리고당의 첨가량이 많아질수록 다소 증가하였다. Resilience탄성)는 보교조생과 수홍 잼 모두 미비하게 감소하였다 관능검사 결과는 보교조생 잼은 프락토올리고당 50% 첨가가 가장 높은 점수를 나타내었고, 수홍 잼은 프락토올리고당 25% 첨가가 가장 높은 점수를 나타내었다. Quality characteristics of strawberry jams made of 2 different strawberry cultivars, Bogyo-joseng and Suhong, with 25, 50, 75, 100% fructo-oligosaccharide in place of sucrose were evaluated. Moisture content of Suhong jam was higher than Bogyo-joseng jam. pH of Bogyo-joseng and Suhong jam was not different. The lightness, redness and yellow-ness of Bogyo-joseoung jam were higher than those of Suhong jam. Spreadmeter value of jams decreased with addition of fructo-oligosaccharide. The sweetness of Suhong jam was higher than Bogyo-joseng. Reducing sugar content of Suhong jam was higher than Bogyo-joseng jam. More of fructo-oligosaccharide added, reducing sugar content of jam increased. Residual anthocyanin in Bogyo-joseng strawberry jam was decreased by addition of fructo-oligosaccharide. However, the residual anthocyanin content of Suhong strawberry jams with fructo-oligosaccharide was lower than that of sugar-only control jam with an exception of 50% fructo-oli-gosaccharide jam. The 50% fructo-oligosaccharide jam had a higher residual anthocyanin content than sugar-only jam. As the addition rate of fructo-oligosaccharide increased, springiness and cohesiveness of jam increased, while resilience decreased. In sensory evaluation, Bogyo-joseng strawberry jams obtained highest score with 50% fructo-oligosaccharide, while Suhong strawberry jam was favored most with 25% fructo-oligosaccharide.

선호 강도가 선호 불일치정보에 대한 소비자 반응에 미치는 영향 : 사전지식과 메시지 강도의 조절효과

This study examines whether preference strength, consumers' prior knowledge, and argument strength affect consumers' responses to preference-inconsistent information (e.g., support argumentation, counterargumentation, and brand switching intention). That is, the present research looks into the effect of preference strength (strong preference vs. weak preference) on consumers' responses to information incongruent with prior preference. We also examine the moderating effects of consumers' prior knowledge and argument strength. The results from our experiment indicate that when consumers have strong (vs. weak) preference, (1) they are likely to show more counterargumentation, less support argumentation, and lower brand switching intention; (2) there is statistically significant difference in consumers' responses (i.e., cognitive responses and brand switching intention) to counterattitudinal message between experts and novices (i.e., there exists an interaction effect between preference strength and consumers' prior knowledge); and (3) there is also statistically significant difference in consumers' responses (i.e., cognitive responses and brand switching intention) to counterattitudinal message between strong and weak arguments (i.e., there exists an interaction effect between preference strength and argument strength). On the basis of the results, theoretical and managerial implications, limitations, and directions for further research are discussed. 본 연구의 목적은 각종 제품 및 서비스에 대해 소비자들이 사전선호가 형성되어 있는 상황에서 선호 불일치정보를 보았을 때 그들의 사전선호 강도(강한 사전선호 vs. 약한 사전선호)에 따라 어떠한 인지적 반응(지지주장, 반대주장)을 보일 것인지, 그리고 그들의 기존 선호에는 어떤 변화(선호의 스위칭)가 나타날 것인지를 비교해서 살펴보는 데에 있다. 또한 이 과정에서 소비자의 사전지식 수준(높은 지식수준 vs. 낮은 지식수준)과 선호 불일치정보 메시지의 강도(강한 메시지 vs. 약한 메시지)가 조절적 역할을 하는지에 대해서도 아울러 살펴보았다. 실험 결과, 강한 사전선호(vs. 약한 사전선호)일수록 선호 불일치정보 메시지에 대한 지지주장은 적은 반면 반대주장은 많은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 비록 통계적으로 유의하지는 않았으나 강한 사전선호(vs. 약한 사전선호)일수록 브랜드 스위칭이 더 적게 일어나는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 지식수준이 높은(vs. 낮은) 경우, 약한 사전선호 집단과 강한 사전선호 집단 간 선호 불일치정보에 대한 인지적 반응(지지주장, 반대주장)과 브랜드 스위칭의 차이가 보다 커지는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 선호 불일치정보 메시지의 강도가 강할(vs. 약할)수록, 약한 사전선호 집단과 강한 사전선호 집단 간 선호 불일치정보에 대한 인지적 반응(지지주장, 반대주장) 및 브랜드 스위칭의 차이는 보다 작아지는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과가 제시하는 이론적·실무적 시사점들을 제안하였고, 마지막으로 본 연구의 한계점과 미래 연구방향에 대해서도 논의하였다.

The Influence of Regulatory Focus on Consumer Responses to Smart Home Services for Energy Management

Smart homes have become the state of the art in the reduction and monitoring of energy usage within a residential setting. Emerging threats such as climate change, global warming and volatility in energy prices have fuelled the interest in smart systems. Given that environmental sustainability has become a more significant factor for consumers, this research examines whether consumers’ attitudes toward smart home services for efficient energy management differ according to their regulatory focus. Specifically, it is predicted that consumers will have more favorable attitudes toward smart home services for efficient energy management when they are promotion-focused (vs. prevention-focused). The results indicate that respondents with a promotion (vs. prevention) focus reported significantly more favorable attitudes toward smart home services for energy management (e.g., smart cooling/heating system, smart ventilation & air conditioning system, smart thermostats, smart plugs, and smart switches). We suggest that regulatory focus may be an effective marketing and segmentation tool in promoting smart home services for energy management and facilitating their receptiveness to the services.

張顯光은 조선시대 자연학자 가운데 대표적인 인물 가운데 한 사람이다. 이 글은 그의 우주론 속에 함축된 상수학적 요소의 의의와 한계를 검토하는 데 목표를 둔다. 역학에서 상과 수는 만물의 분별과 그 상호관계, 그리고 그것들의 시간적 질서를 표현하는 개념 도구이다. 그것들은 음양을 결합함으로써 내부 운동인을 확보하고, 우주⋅만물에 대한 상수학적 해석과 설명의 틀을 구성하였다. 상수학적 우주론의 핵심적인 주장은 우주가 시⋅공간적으로 유한하며, 그것과 반대로 리(태극)는 무한하다고 하는 것이다. 리가 시⋅공간적 무한하다는 것은 도덕원리가 절대적이고 항상적임을 의미한다. 이를 통해 장현광은 자신의 우주론이 주자학의 도덕형이상학과 순조롭게 결합될 수 있도록 하였다. 장현광은 易書를 자연 이해의 준거 또는 範形으로 강조하는 경향을 보였다. 이는 불완전하나마 소옹에게서 나타났던 법칙 객관주의를 질곡하고, 그의 법칙 개념으로 하여금 경험이나 지식의 확장과 더불어 스스로를 갱신해 가기 어렵게 만들었다. 이러한 이론적 한계에도 불구하고 그의 상수학적 우주론은 당시 성리학의 자연학적 근거를 마련했다는 점에서 긍정적으로 평가할 수 있다. Jang, Hyeon-Guang is one of the representative natural philosophers of Joseon Korea. This article aims to investigate the meaning of the factors of Xiangshuxue(象數學) contained in his cosmology. Xiangshuxue applies Image(Xiang), Numeral(Shu) and In-Yang to present the distinctions, inter-relations and time-series orders of things. Jang’s cosmology, combined with Xiangshuxue, insisted that Li(Principle) is infinite in time and space, the cosmos is finite on the other side. This assures that the moral principle is absolute and eternal. Jang emphasized the book I-ching as the criterion and the model in understanding the nature. This restrained the objectivizm of Shaoyong and made his concept 'natural law' difficult to change itself as the experience and the knowledge expand. None the less, his cosmology is appraised in that it strengthened natural philosophical basis of neo-confucianism and preceded the cosmological investigations since mid-Joseon dynasty.
