        The present investigation was performed to purify bombesin-like immunoreactivity (BBS-LI) from the skin of frogs, B. orientalis inhabiting Korea. For extraction of BBS-LI, the fresh skin of 360 g from frogs was immersed in 1,800 ml of 100% methanol and then kept at 4℃ for 5 days. BBS-LI was partially purified by liquid chromatography using an alkaline alumina column followed by a Sephadex G-10 column. BBS-LI was further purified by using sequential HPLC of reversed phase C18 preparation, gel permeation, SP-ion exchange and reversed phase C18 analysis. BBS-LI in fractions of each step was monitored by radioimmunoassay for which bombesin antiserum with a titer of 1 : 188,800 was raised in a guinea pig. Eventually, two different BBS-LI were successfully purified and each BBS-LI showed the following character. 1) BBS-LI was well separated into two peaks in SP-ion exchange HPLC. One (BBS-LI-K1) bound to the column while the other (BBS-LI-K2) did not. 2) BBS-LI-K1, 73.8% of total BBS-LI, was not differentiated from synthetic bombesin in reversed phase C18 analytical and gel permeation HPLC. 3) BBS-LI-K2, 26.2% of total BBS-LI, eluted later than synthetic bombesin in reversed phase C18 analytical HPLC, but it eluted with a retention time identical to that of synthetic bombesin in gel permeation HPLC. 4) The two forms of BBS-LI and synthetic bombesin identically stimulated gastrin release and pancreatic exocrine secretion including volume, protein output and amylase output in anesthetized rats. It is concluded from the above results that the skin of B. orientalis contains two different forms of BBS-LI which are very identical to bombesin immunologically and biologically. In comparison with synthetic bombesin containing 14 amino acid residues, the major form shows quite similar pattern in all HPLC used in the present study, but the minor form exhibits quite different pattern in SP-ion exchange and reversed phase C18 analytical HPLG.

        본 실험에서는 강원도 지역에 집단으로 서식하고 있는 한국산 무당개구리(Bombina orientalis) 피부에서 bombesin 유사 peptide를 순수정제하여 생리활성과 amino acid 서열을 측정하고자 하였다. 무당개구리의 피부를 methanol에 담가 bombesin 유사반응물질(BLI)을 추출한 다음 alkaline alumina에 이은 Sephadex G-10 겔 크로마토그래피와 RP C18 preparative HPLC로 부분정제하였다. 부분정제시 여러 종류의 BLI가 출현하므로 본 연구에서는 전체 BLI의 65%를 점유하는 peak(BLI-K1)를 RP C18 및 SP-이온교환 HPLC를 이용하여 순수정제하였다. 피부조직 420 g에서 $890\;{\mu}g$의 BLI-K1를 순수정제하였으며, 이것은 RP C18, 겔 투과 그리고 SP-이온교환 HPLC 모두에서 합성 bombesin(BBS)과 동일한 정체시간을 나타내었다. 생리활성에서도 BLI-K1은 마취한 흰쥐에서 혈장 gastrin 농도와 혜장 단백질, 중탄산이온, amylase 및 chymotrypsin 분비량을 모두 유의하게 증가시켜 합성 BBS와 동일한 활성을 나타내었다. 또한 BLI-K1의 분자량 및 C-terminal의 11개 amino acid 서열이 합성 BBS과 동일하였기 때문에 한국산 무당개구리의 피부에도 유럽산 무당개구리의 피부에 존재하는 것과 동일한 bombesin이 존재하는 것으로 생각된다. Eventually, $890\;{\mu}g$ of BLI-K1 was homogeneously purified from 420g of the skin of B. orientalis and it was not differentiated from synthetic BBS in RP C18, gel permeation and SP-ion exchange HPLC. In the physiological activities, BLI-K1 was identical to synthetic BBS in stimulation of gastrin release and exocrine pancreatic secretion including volume, protein, bicarbonate, amylase and chymotrypsin output in anesthetized rats. Furthermore, molecular weight and partial amino acid sequence of BLI-K1 was revealed to be identical to synthetic BBS. Therefore, it is concluded from the above results that the skin of B. orientalis contains the same BBS that has been isolated from the skin of European Bombina.

      • WDM 다중홉 망에서 ATM 응용을 위한 노드 구조 및 셀 라우팅 기법

        본 논문에서는 WDM 다중홉 망에서 효율적인 ATM 응용 서비스를 제공하기 위한 노드 구조 및 셀 라우팅 기법을 제시하였다. 제안된 WDM 노드의 파장 교환 구조는 MSN 구조의 논리적 토폴로지를 기반으로 하고, 내부에 광 지연루프를 사용하여 전 ${\cdot}$ 광 신호의 변환없이 셀의 지연을 허용하므로써 Store-and-forward(S&F)와 편향 라우팅의 장점을 취할 수 있다. 제안된 라우팅 기법은 ATM 셀 전송의 우선 순위에 따라 각기 다른 버퍼 점유, 재지연, 편향 기법을 적용하여 서비스 계층별 QoS를 보장하면서 효율적인 경합 해결 및 경로 제어가 가능하도록 하였다. 라우팅 방식-Ⅰ에서는 경함이 발생할 경우 고순위 셀은 S&F 방식으로 라우팅하고 저순위셀은 편향시켜 고순위 셀의 전송지연을 줄이고 처리율을 향상시켰다. 방식-Ⅱ는 망의 트래픽 부하가 적을 경우 저순위 셀도 부분적인 버퍼 점유를 허락하여 저순위 셀의 폐기율을 줄이므로써 망의 이용률을 높일 수 있도록 하였다. 제안한 라우팅 기법들의 성능 평가를 위해 시뮬레이터를 작성하여 균형 및 불균형 트래픽 상황에서 평균 홉수와 처리율 측면에서 성능을 비교 분석하였다. In this paper, we proposed a node architecture and cell routing strategies for ATM applications in WDM multihop networks. The proposed node architecture employs the optical delay loop for storing the cell which is failed in out-link contention. This optical delay loop allows the delay of one cell without the electro-optic conversion. Therefore, we can get the advantages of S&F(Store-and-Forward) routing in Deflection-based all-optical networks. To support the ATM applications efficiently. we considered the transmission priority of ATM cell so that high priority cell can be transmitted with lower loss and shorter delay than low priority one. Two kinds of routing strategies are designed for this architecture: Scheme-Ⅰand Scheme-Ⅱ. Scheme-Ⅰapplies S&F routing to high cell and Deflection routing to low cell, i.e., high cells are routed along the shortest path based on S&F routing, but low cells are deflected or lost. Schem-Ⅱ is similar to Scheme-Ⅰexcept that low cells can occupy the optical loop if it is available. This Scheme-Ⅱ increases the utilization of network resources without decreasing the throughput of high cell by reducing the low cell loss rate when traffic load is low. Simulation results show that our routing strategies have better performance than conventional ones under non-uniform traffic as well as uniform traffic.

        Non-point source pollution management is one of the most important issues in Korean water quality/watershed management. In recent years, Low Impact Development (LID) has emerged as an effective approach to control stormwater in an urban area. This study illustrates how to design and evaluate the effect of non-point pollutant management using EPA-SWMM LID module and suggests design parameters for modeling LID facilities. In addition, optimal installation locations of LID can be determined by a simple distributed hydrologic model by using SWMM for a long-term.

        속보 : 고해상도 IKONOS 위성영상을 이용한 임상분류

        본 연구에서는 강원도 평창군 봉평면 일대의 지역에 대해 2000년 4윌 24일에 수신된 IKONOS 위성영상을 이용하여 피복분류를 수행하였다. 피복분류는 임상분류에 중점을 두었으며, 분류에 적용한 분류항목(class)은 현지조사 및 영상을 통하여 상록침엽수, 낙엽송, 활엽수, 나지, 밭, 초지, 수역, 사토지역, 아스팔트지역의 9개로 나누었다. 영상분류는 최대우도법을 적용하여 감독분류를 수행하였다. 정확도는 검정지역에 대한 전체정확도, 생산자정확도, 사용자정확도, k의 항목에 대해 분류오차행렬표를 통하여 평가하였다. 분류 및 분석에는 ERDAS사의 Imagine 8.4와 Purdue 대학에서 개발한 Multispec 소프트웨어를 사용하였다. 분류 결과, 검정지역에 대한 정확도는 전체정확도 93.3%, 생산자정확도 77.0-99.9%, 사용자정확도 71.9-100%, k은 0.93이었다. 나지, 사토지역, 밭 등의 경우 다른 분류항목보다 분류의 정확도가 비교적 낮게 나타난 반면, 임상분류에 있어서는 기존의 중해상도(5-30m) 위성영상보다 향상된 분류결과를 보여주었다. This study was carried out to evaluate high resolution satellite imagery of IKONOS for classifying the land cover, especially forest type, The IKONOS imagery of 11km × 11km size was taken on April 24,2000 in Bong-pyoung Myun Pyungchang-Gun, Kangwon Province. Land cover classes were water, coniferous evergreen. Larix leptolepis, broad-leaved tree, bare land, farm land, grassland, sandy soil and asphalted area. Supervised classification method with algorithm of maximum likelihood was applied for classification. The terrestrial survey was also carried out to collect the reference data in this area. The accuracy of the classification was analyzed with the items of overall accuracy, producer`s accuracy, user`s accuracy and k for test area through the error matrix. In the accuracy analysis of the test area, overall accuracy was 94.3%, producer`s accuracy was 77.0-99.9%. user`s accuracy was 71.9-100% and k was 0.93. Classes of bare land, sandy soil and farm land were less clear than other classes, whereas classification result of IKONOS in forest area showed higher performance than that of other resolution(5-30m) satellite data.

        갑상선기능항진증환자에서 소장운동성의 동태 변화

        It is well-known that hyperthyroidism is associated with gastrointestinal (GI) motility disorders, such as frequent defecations and diarrhea. However, few studies have done a manometric analysis of GI motility, particularly the migrating motor comples (MMC) in patients with hyperthyroidism. The changes of MMC period and each phase occurred in patients with hyperthyroidism are considered as a candidate of the magjor causes for GI manifestations. The aim of this study was to observe the changes of GI motility as measured by manometry as well as the relationship between the changes of GI motility and GI manifestations in patients with hyperthyroidism. This study was performed on nine patients with hyperthyroidism and six control subjects, The results were as follows: 1) MMC periods in the duodenum and proximal jejunum in patients with hyperthyroidism were significantly shortened in comparison with the control subjects (p$lt;0.05). 2) A shortening of Phase l and prolongation of Phase II occurred in patients with hyperthyroidism in comparison with the control subjects (p$lt;0.05, p$lt;0.01, & p$lt;0.001). 3) The frequency of contractions of Phase Ⅲ in the duodenum and upper iejunum in patients with hyperthyroidism significantly increased in comparison with the control subjects(p$lt;0.05 & p$lt;0.01). 4) The propagation velocity of Phase III in the duodenum and upper jejunum in patients with hyperthyroism was not significantly faster than in the control subjects.
