The KSAE Self Made University Student Automobile Contest has been held every year since 2007 to provide opportunities to obtain knowledge and skills related to automobiles, to inspire the desire to study through automobile sports, and to contribute to the development of automobile engineering and the automobile industry, and finally to cultivate professionals of the future automobile industry where the evaluation categories of the tournament were the static testing of vehicles, stopping/acceleration testing and durability testing. To enter into the ‘2015 KSAE Self Made University Student Automobile Contest’, through the process of manufacturing an automobile from design to production, a highly safe automobile that adhered to the design conditions was manufactured. To improve maintainability, a chassis frame that adhered to the design conditions was manufactured and parts related to the power transmission, suspension system and steering systems were designed, and using CATIA, the layout of the parts, utilization of space and the assembly finish etc. were also evaluated. To promote the driving dynamics of the vehicle in particular, by implementing a LSD and Wheel Alignment, it was attempted to improve driving dynamics.
고연성-저항복강을 사용한 복합강재댐퍼의 최적형상 도출을 위한 해석적 연구

In this study, carbon steel(SS275) and low-yield-point steel(HSA80) were used to develop the CSD(carbon steel damper), the LSD(low-yield-point steel damper), and the HSD(hybrid steel damper). Finite element analysis of the HSD was performed by setting the ratio of the yield strength of the CSD to the yield strength of the LSD to 1, 1.5 and 2, and also by GSD(the general type of the steel damper) with the same yield strength as HSD. Finally, the HSD gave better energy dissipation capability than the general type of the steel damper with the same yield strength. At the yield strength ratio of the LSD was 1.5, it was shown that the HSD gave sequential yield characteristics and higher energy dissipation capacity rather than other types of dampers.

2016 ‘KSAE 대학생 자작자동차 대회’에 출전하기 위하여 ‘Team-S.E.C’의 팀원들과의 회의를 통하여 작년도에 발생한 문제점들을 보완하며 추가적인 아이디어를 수렴하여 차량을 제작하였다. 제작과정에서 교내의 `창의공학센터`를 이용하여 각종 부품들을 가공하였으며, 교내에서 가공이 불가능한 부품들은 외주가공을 진행하였다. 2016년에 제작된 자작자동차는 드라이버의 탑승이 불편하다는 의견을 수렴하여 드라이버가 탑승하는 운전실의 체적을 15년도 제작 차량에 비해 약 20%증가시켜 드라이버의 편의성을 향상시켰으며, 주생 시 차량이 좌우로 미끄러지며 운행하는 것을 방지하기 위하여 애커먼 장토식 조향장치와 휠 얼라이먼트를 적용하여 직진성과 코너링 성능을 향상 시고 사이드슬립을 방지하였다. 그 결과 최소회전 방경을 3m로 감소시켜, KSAE대학생 자작자동차 대회 내구경기 코스에 최적화된 차량을 제작하여 `종합은상`을 수상하는 쾌거를 거두었다.

Traditionally, a design has been applied on a various defense area for the improvement of the mobility, reducing the radar detection area and other reasons. In case of Korean Wheeled Armored Vehicle(WAV), a design has been also applied for retaining the agility and threatening feature in the battlefield. However some figures has been changed because of constraints such as assembling and manufacturing in the development stage. Today, the government has planned to develop the Wheeled Armored Command Post Vehicle(CPV), a variant of WAV, and it is necessary to apply the latest design trend, which is suitable for the concept of the CPV, on it.
