Three-dimensional accuracy of different correction methods for cast implant bars

PURPOSE. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the accuracy of three techniques for correction of cast implant bars. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Thirty cast implant bars were fabricated on a metal master model. All cast implant bars were sectioned at 5 mm from the left gold cylinder using a disk of 0.3 mm thickness, and then each group of ten specimens was corrected by gas-air torch soldering, laser welding, and additional casting technique. Three dimensional evaluation including horizontal, vertical, and twisting measurements was based on measurement and comparison of (1) gap distances of the right abutment replica-gold cylinder interface at buccal, distal, lingual side, (2) changes of bar length, and (3) axis angle changes of the right gold cylinders at the step of the post-correction measurements on the three groups with a contact and non-contact coordinate measuring machine. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and paired t-test were performed at the significance level of 5%. RESULTS. Gap distances of the cast implant bars after correction procedure showed no statistically significant difference among groups. Changes in bar length between pre-casting and post-correction measurement were statistically significance among groups. Axis angle changes of the right gold cylinders were not statistically significance among groups. CONCLUSION. There was no statistical significance among three techniques in horizontal, vertical and axial errors. But, gas-air torch soldering technique showed the most consistent and accurate trend in the correction of implant bar error. However, Laser welding technique, showed a large mean and standard deviation in vertical and twisting measurement and might be technique-sensitive method.
Canine as a Comparative and Translational Model for Human Mammary Tumor

Despite the advances in research and treatment of human breast cancer, its incidence rate continues to increase by 0.5% per year, and the discovery of novel therapeutic strategies for specific subtypes of human breast cancer remains challenging. Traditional laboratory mouse models have contributed tremendously to human breast cancer research. However, mice do not develop tumors spontaneously; consequently, genetically engineered mouse models or patient-derived xenograft models are often relied upon for more sophisticated human breast cancer studies. Since human breast cancer develops spontaneously, there is a need for alternative, yet complementary, models that can better recapitulate the features of human breast cancer to better understand the molecular and clinical complexities of the disease in developing new therapeutic strategies. Canine mammary tumors are one such alternative model that share features with human breast cancer, including prevalence rate, subtype classification, treatment, and mutational profiles, all of which are described in this review.

This study aims to identify the impact of Airline brand personality on brand self-identification on brand attitude, and also to determine whether Airline brand personality affects brand attitudes by means of self-identification. For the purposes of these studies, a total of 299 effective samples were obtained and analyzed for job seekers wishing to work for airlines and the data analysis method was used in SPSS 23.0 after data coding. The study found that first, among the factors behind the airline brand personality, the ability and strength have been shown to affect personal identification, and sophistication, ability and strength affect social identification. Second, personal and social identifications have been shown to affect brand attitudes. Third, Self-identification is in the role of partial mediation on the relationship between sophistication, ability, strength among the factors of brand personality and brand attitude, both personal identification and social identification.
p16INK4A의 면역조직화학적 염색을 이용한 자궁경부 종양의 진단

Objective : There is need for more objective diagnostic parameters to identify cervical dysplastic or neoplastic cells. So, we examined the p16INK4A expression in the cervical tissues to evaluate the value of p16INK4A as a diagnostic parameter. Methods : We examined the p16INK4A expression by immunohistochemical staining in normal cervical tissues (n=3), preneoplastic lesions (n=6), carcinoma in situ (CIS, n=5), and invasive carcinomas (n=5) of the cervix, which were selected randomly by H&E staining from the archives of formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded tissues and we also examined the status of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection in the same tissues. Results : The positive rates of p16INK4A expression was significantly higher in all abnormal cervical tissues including subclinical papillomavirus infection (SPI), dysplasia, CIS, and invasive carcinoma than in normal cervical epithelium (p=0.001). Despite the strong expression of p16INK4A in the area of CIS, no expression of p16INK4A was observed in the area of normal epithelium in the vicinity of CIS. 11 cases among 19 cases of examined tissue samples were tested for HPV infection. Seven of them showed positivity for HPV DNA. Conclusion : We herein demonstrated that p16INK4A would be a sensitive and specific marker for the abnormal cervical cells in tissue sections. This approach will help to reduce interobserver variations in the histopathologic interpretation of cervical biopsy specimens. 목적 : 정상 조직, 전구 병변 및 자궁 경부암을 무작위로 선택하여 이들에서 면역 조직화학적 염색법을 이용하여 p16INK4A 의 발현을 조사하고 HPV 감염 상태와의 관련을 조사함으로써 p16INK4A의 측정이 자궁 경부 조직 표본이나 세포 도말 표본에서 종양 세포들의 진단 가능성을 확인하고 자궁 경부 세포진에서 발생하는 높은 위음성율의 문제를 감소시킬 수 있는지 알아 보기 위해 본 실험을 실시하였다. 연구 방법 : 포르말린에 고정하고 파라핀에 포매된 보관 조직으로부터 H&E 염색으로 진단이 확인된 조직 절편으로부터 정상, 불현성 인유두종 바이러스 감염(이하 SPI), 이형증, 상피내암 및 침윤암 조직을 무작위로 선별하여 p16INK4A 항체를 이용한 면역조직 화학적 염색을 실시하였다. 대상 환자들의 HPV 형의 분석결과는 병력 기록지를 참고하였다.결과 : 3예의 정상적인 조직은 모두 p16INK4A에 음성 반응을 나타내었다. 2예의 SPI, 4예의 이형증, 5예의 상피내암 및 5예의 자궁 경부암의 조직 절편의 변성 부위에서는 모두 p16INK4A에 양성을 나타내었고 인접한 정상 상피조직에서는 전혀 양성 반응이 나타나지 않았다. 결론 : p16INK4A를 이용한 면역 조직화학적 염색은 자궁 경부 조직절편에서 종양 세포들을 동정하는데 매우 유용할 것으로 판단된다.
