        Effects of Disease Detection on Changes in Smoking Behavior

        Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the effect that detection of chronicdisease via health screening programs has on health behaviors, particularly smoking. Materials and Methods: We analyzed national health insurance data from 2007 and 2009. Subjects who were 40 years of age in 2007 and eligible for the life cycle-based national health screening program were included. The total study populationcomprised 153518 individuals who participated in the screening program in 2007 and follow-up screening in 2009. Multiple logistic regression analyses were conducted by sex, with adjustment for health insurance type, socioeconomic status, body mass index, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and family history of cardiovascularand/or neurovascular disease. Results: Among men with smoking behaviorchanges, those newly diagnosed with hyperlipidemia were more likely to show a positive health behavior change, such as smoking cessation, and were less likely to have a negative behavior change (e.g., smoking initiation). Additionally, men newly diagnosed with diabetes showed lower rates of negative health behavior changes compared to those without disease. Body mass index (BMI)≥25, compared to BMI<23, showed higher rates of positive health behavior changes and lower rates of negative health behavior changes. Newly diagnosed chronic disease did not influence smoking behavior in women. Conclusion: Smoking behavior changes were only detected in men who participated in health screening programs. In particular,those newly diagnosed with hyperlipidemia were more likely to stop smoking and less likely to start smoking.

        빅데이터를 통한 초등안전교육에 대한 인식 분석

        The purpose of this study was to analyze the social awareness of elementary safety education using big data. In order to analyze the perception of the public, the media, and researchers related to elementary safety education, the portal site, Bigkinds, and RISS set the search period from January 1, 2015 to June 30, 2020, and elementary safety education as a keyword. Data was collected and purified. Frequency analysis, connection centering analysis, and CONCOR analysis were performed with the data purified twice. As a result of the study, the public had a strong perception that experience-based safety education should be conducted in schools and homes, and the media had a strong perception that the government and the Ministry of Education should lead the development and projects of school safety education programs and provide data to the school field. Researchers were mainly aware that the curriculum and textbooks should include content appropriate to the stage of child development so that safety education can be systematically implemented. Therefore, the government and the Ministry of Education prepare programs and programs necessary for elementary safety education, and systematically organize safety education contents in curriculum and textbooks to provide experience-oriented safety education at schools and homes. It was concluded that this is the goal of safety education. 이 연구의 목적은 빅데이터를 이용하여 초등안전교육에 대한 사회적 인식을 분석하는 것이다. 초등안전교육에 관계하는 대중, 언론, 연구자의 인식을 구체적이고 통합적으로 분석하기 위해 포털사이트, Bigkinds, RISS에서 2015년 1월 1일부터 2020년 6월 30일까지 최근 5년간을 검색기간으로 설정하고 초등안전교육을 키워드로 하여 데이터를 수집하고 정제하였다. 두 차례에 걸쳐 정제한 데이터로 빈도분석, 연결중심성 분석, CONCOR 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 대중은 학교와 가정에서 체험중심의 안전교육이 실시되어야 한다는 인식이 컸고, 언론은 정부, 교육부가 주도적으로 학교안전교육 프로그램 개발 및 사업을 추진하고 학교 현장에 자료를 제공해야 한다는 인식이 강했다. 연구자는 교육과정, 교과서에 아동발달단계에 맞는 내용을 포함하여 안전교육이 체계적으로 이루어질 수 있도록 해야 한다는 인식이 주를 이루었다. 이에 정부와 교육부는 초등안전교육에 필요한 사업 및 프로그램을 마련하고, 교육과정 및 교과서에 안전교육 내용을 체계적으로 구성하여 학교와 가정에서 체험 중심의 안전교육을 실시해야 한다는 것이 우리 사회가 인식하는 초등안전교육의 지향점이라는 결론을 얻었다.

        Annular Pancreas: A Rare Cause of Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding in Adults

        Annular pancreas is a rare congenital anomaly in which a thin band of pancreatic tissue partially or completely surrounds the duodenum. It is challenging to diagnose due to its variable clinical presentation. Approximately two-thirds of patients have no symptoms in their lifetime, and most symptomatic cases are seen in neonates and infants. Symptomatic adult patients present with upper gastrointestinal symptoms, such as epigastric pain, vomiting, and postprandial fullness associated with gastric outlet obstruction. Complications associated with annular pancreas include peptic ulcer disease, pancreatitis, pancreatic head carcinoma, and biliary obstruction. Annular pancreas is also a rare cause of upper gastrointestinal bleeding in adults, but it should be considered as one of the differential diagnoses in patients presenting with a peptic ulcer and duodenal stricture. Here, we report the case of a 60-year-old man who presented with melena and was subsequently diagnosed with an annular pancreas.

        동측 안구의 핵간안근마비와 말초성 안면신경마비를보인 증례: 일곱반증후군

        A 49-year-old male presented with horizontal binocular diplopia without facial pain or skin lesion. Limitation of medial gaze in the left eye was revealed on neurological examination, which is accompanied by peripheral facial nerve palsy ipsilaterally. The diagnosis had been made based on the diffusion restriction lesion of left pontine tegmentum. We may denominate a “seven-and-a-half syndrome” and clinician should maintain a high level of awareness of the various syndromes associated with pontine lesions

        The hTERT‑VNTR2‑2nd alleles are involved in genomic stability in gastrointestinal cancer

        Background hTERT contains a high density of minisatellites, of which rare alleles of hTERT-VNTR2-2nd have been reported to be associated with prostate cancer. This shows an association between VNTR and cancer, but this repeat sequence is likely to be associated with genomic instability. Therefore, we investigated the effects of hTERT-VNTR2-2nd on gastrointestinal cancer and the relationship between repeated sequence and chromosome instability. Methods A case–control study was performed using DNA from 818 cancer-free controls, 539 cases with gastric cancer, 275 cases with colon cancer and 274 cases with rectal cancer. To determine whether minisatellites affect gene expression, expression levels were examined using TERT-reporter vectors in cell lines. In addition, the length of the hTERT-VNTR2-2nd alleles were determined in blood and cancer tissues from 107 gastric cancers, 112 colon cancers and 76 rectal cancers patients to determine whether the repeat sequence was associated with genomic instability during cancer development. Results No statistically significant association between hTERT-VNTR2-2nd and risk of gastrointestinal cancer was detected. However, it has been shown that VNTRs inserted into the enhancer region can regulate the expression of TERT in gastrointestinal cancer cells. Moreover, hTERT-VNTR2-2nd was analyzed in matched blood and cancer tissue from patients with gastrointestinal cancer and in seven among 294 subjects, and hTERT-VNTR2-2nd was found to be rearranged. Conclusions We suggest that minisatellites are associated with genomic instability in cancer and that the hTERT-VNTRs region may increase hTERT expression in gastrointestinal cancer cells.

        페이스북을 이용한 한국어 초급 수업 -쓰기 활동을 중심으로-

        In Korean language education, multimedia has been widely used. However, most of them are either using computer programs to show pictures, videos or document files during the lesson or web-based learning; which is teacher-centered. However, the era has been changed into Web 2.0 like SNS etc. It allows us to have learner-centered learning and increases two sided interaction and communication. Korean language education setting in foreign countries is different from domestic. In detail, time tends to be limited to conduct 4 main functions like speaking, listening, reading and writing. Especially, writing may tend to be skipped or be handed over as homework. Furthermore, learners have limited exposure to target language, which means they do not produce enough output to use what they learnt from the class. Therefore, in this study, I suggest the lesson plan on Korean writing class using Facebook as a teaching and learning platform to carry out writing lesson which could not be covered in face to face classroom. In order to use Facebook in Korean language education, this study examines theoretical bases upon constructivism theory, noticing hypothesis and output hypothesis. At the same time, in order to find out the effect of using Facebook in the Korean class, the survey was conducted. However, this study is only based on Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Also the survey was limited to basic descriptive statistics such as frequency only.

        플립러닝 체육수업 운영에 대한 초등 교사의 인식 분석

        Objectives The purpose of this study was to explore information and implications for applying flipped learning to physical education classes by analyzing elementary school teachers' perceptions of flipped learning physical education classes. Methods A questionnaire survey of 223 elementary school teachers across the country, focusing on teachers teaching in the G Province, and 210 data were collected and frequency analysis was conducted using SPSS 23.0 for Windows. Results Elementary school teachers recognized that flipped learning physical education classes were necessary, and a high percentage of respondents responded to the purpose and purpose of flipped learning physical education classes as ‘reflecting the needs of the times for future education’ and ‘freeing up time for the development of learner-centered activities.’ There was a strong perception that the operation of flipped learning physical education classes required teacher competencies such as ‘class design ability’ and ‘communication skills’. In addition, 17.6% of primary school teachers experienced flipped learning physical education classes, which were mainly taught in competitive and challenging areas, and the duration of operation was mainly around 6 months, and the operation was recognized as having a higher effect than traditional physical education and classes when managing flipped learning physical education classes. The educational implications of the research are as follows: First, flipped learning physical education classes have a high educational effect and sufficient meaning to be an alternative to future physical education. Second, in order to effectively practice flipped learning physical education classes, it is urgent for teachers to develop their ability to design lessons, and the possibility of practice can be enhanced through teacher learning community, faculty training, etc. Third, it was suggested that in order to effectively operate flipped learning physical education classes, systematic preparation is necessary by providing a comprehensive environment such as digital ethics education and the construction of IT infrastructure. Conclusions Elementary teachers' experience and perception of flipped learning physical education classes are expanding, but they must be supported by the establishment of an environment that increases their viability. 목적 이 연구의 목적은 플립러닝 체육수업에 대한 초등 교사의 인식을 확인하여 그 교육적 시사점을 찾는 것이다. 방법 G도에 위치한 초등학교에서 근무하는 교사들을 중심으로 전국 시도교육청 소속의 초등 교사 223명을 대상으로 설문 조사를진행하였고, 210부의 자료를 수집하여 SPSS 23.0 for Windows를 이용해 빈도분석을 실시하였다. 결과 초등 교사들은 플립러닝 체육수업은 필요하다고 인식했고, 플립러닝 체육수업의 취지와 목적에 대해 ‘미래 교육을 위한 시대적요구 반영’과 ‘학습자 중심 활동 전개를 위한 시간 확보’라고 응답한 비율이 높았다. 플립러닝 체육수업 운영에 있어 ‘수업 설계 능력’ 및 ‘의사소통 능력’과 같은 교사 역량이 요구된다는 인식이 컸다. 또한 초등 교사의 17.6%가 플립러닝 체육수업을 경험하였는데, 주로 경쟁영역과 도전영역을 중심으로 지도하였고 운영 기간은 주로 6개월 내외였으며 플립러닝 체육수업을 운영했을 때 기존 체육과 수업보다 높은 효과를 봤다고 인식했다. 연구 결과에 따른 교육적 시사점을 제시하면, 플립러닝 체육수업은 교육적 효과가 크기에미래 체육교육을 위한 하나의 대안이 될 수 있다. 또한, 플립러닝 체육수업을 효과적으로 운영하기 위해서는 교사의 수업 설계 역량함양이 시급한데 교과 연구회, 연수 등을 통해 실천 가능성을 높일 수 있으며, 원활한 운영을 위해 디지털 윤리교육, IT인프라 구축과같은 제반 환경을 마련하여 체계적인 준비가 필요하다. 결론 플립러닝 체육수업에 대한 초등 교사의 경험과 인식은 확장되고 있으나 실천 가능성을 높일 수 있는 환경 구축이 뒷받침되어야한다.

      • 소비자 특성이 3차원 영상 콘텐츠의 이용의향에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

        디지털 TV의 보급 확산으로 HD급 고화질 방송을 경험한 소비자가 증가하면서 멀티미디어의 질적 향상에 많은 관심이 집중되고 있다. 3차원 영상은 기존의 평면 영상과는 달리 사람이 보고 느끼는 실제 영상과 유사하여 시각정보의질적 수준을 향상시키는 새로운 개념의 미디어로서 차세대 디지털 영상산업을 주도하게 될 것으로 전망되고 있다. 미디어에서 3D 영상 콘텐츠의 활용이 확산되기 위해서는 이용자의 선택이 중요한 역할을 하므로 3D 영상 콘텐츠를 이용하려는 소비자의 규명이 필요하다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 설문조사를 통해 3D 영상 콘텐츠에 대한 소비자의 호감도와 이용의향에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 파악하고 향후 이용 매체별 소비자의 특성을 알아보고자 하는 초기 연구로서의의가 있겠다. 연구 결과를 통해 DMB를 이용하는 학생집단을 대상으로 3D 영상 콘텐츠에 대한 유용성을 지각하고경험하도록 하여 초기 수용자를 확보하는 것이 3D 영상 콘텐츠 시장의 창출을 위해 중요한 것으로 판단된다. 매체별로는 3D에 대한 경험이 많을수록 DMB나 게임을 선호하는 것으로 나타났고 3D에 대한 경험이 부족할수록 방송 매체를 선호한다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

        소규모학교 체육수업 운영 경험에 관한 질적 메타분석

        이 연구의 목적은 초‧중등 소규모학교 체육수업 운영에 관한 질적 연구물을 메타분석하여 소규모학교 체육수업 운영을 종합적으로 이해하고 설명하는 것이다. 이를 위해 PRISMA flowchart를 이용해 체계적 문헌 고찰의 과정을 거쳐 연구물을 수집했고 Noblit과 Hare(1988), Walsh와 Downe(2005)의 질적 메타분석 절차를 활용하여 연구를 수행했다. 그 결과 명암(明暗)을 상위적인 메타포로 도출했다. 긍정적인 경험인 ‘명(明)’과부정적인 경험인 ‘암(暗)’이 공존하고 순환하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. ‘노력’, ‘성과’, ‘화목’은 ‘명(明)’으로, ‘소외’, ‘고충’, ‘제약’은 ‘암(暗)’이라는 상위 범주로 묶였다. 향후 소규모학교 체육수업 운영의 가능성과한계를 중심으로 명암(明暗)을 개선하기 위한 전략 및 지원체제로는 협력을 기반으로 맞춤형 체육과 교육과정을 설계, 팀 스포츠 운영을 위한 실제적 방안 마련, 전문성 신장, 교사의 업무경감을 위한 지원이 필요하다 The purpose of this study was to comprehensively understand and explain the operation of physical education classes in small schools through a meta-analysis of qualitative research on the operation of physical education classes in elementary and middle school small schools. For this purpose, research was collected through a systematic literature review process using the PRISMA flowchart, and the study was conducted using the qualitative meta-analysis procedures of Noblit and Hare (1988) and Walsh and Downe (2005). As a result, a high-level metaphor called light and dark was derived. It was confirmed that ‘light’, a positive experience, and ‘dark’, a negative experience, coexist and circulate. ‘Effort’, ‘performance’, and ‘harmony’ were grouped into ‘light’, and ‘alienation’, ‘grievances’, and ‘constraints’ were grouped into a higher category called ‘dark’. Strategies and support systems to improve the clarity of small school physical education class operations in the future include designing customized physical education curriculum based on cooperation, reducing teachers' workload, preparing practical measures for operating team sports, and improving professionalism.
