Objective : This study was designed to find out the effect of scolopendrid aquacupuncture classified by the type of HIVD(Herniation of Inter-Vertebral Disc) in lumbar spine. Methods : The 50 patients who had a diagnosis of HIVD by lumbar-CT or lumbar-MRI and admitted to Gwangju oriental medical hospital in wonkwang university from June 2003 to March 2004 were observed. The symptom of inpatients is low back pain with or without sciatica. We treated 50 patients by scolopendrid aquacupuncture besides the general consevative treatment of oriental medicine. Results and Conclusion : The scolopendrid aquacupuncture treatment led to improvement in the pain and symptom of HIVD as determined by all efficacy measures. After scolopendrid aquacupuncture treatment, there was improvement in VAS, oswestry disability index, ROM and SLRT. The improvement index of scolopendrid aquacupuncture treatment classified by the type of HIVD showed that the effects of scolopendrid aquacupuncture had correlation with the type of HIVD. The more the herniation of intervertebral disc decreased, the more the effect of scolopendrid aquacupuncture increased. This results suggest that scolopendrid aquacupuncture is good method for treatment of HIVD but we have to consider the clinical correlation with the degree of herniation.

Purpose: This study explored the relationships among resilience, job stress, and organizational commitment in ICU nurses. Further, the possibility of the application of resilience to the hospital environment was evaluated to provide basic data for program development to improve resilience and to promote nurses' commitment to their organizations. Methods: Data were collected from 174 ICU nurses at A University Hospital. The cross-sectional descriptive survey was conducted using a structured questionnaire. Results: The mean resilience score was $2.41{\pm}0.47$ out of 4. The mean score for job stress was $3.60{\pm}0.36$ out of 5, and that for organizational commitment was $3.25{\pm}0.55$ out of 5. Analysis of the relationships between the participants' resilience and organizational commitment indicated a significantly positive correlation (r=.45, p<.001). According to the general characteristics, organizational commitment levels showed a significant difference according to the ICU type (F=1.38, p<.001). Conclusion: It may beconcluded that the important individual factor of resilience had a positive influence on organizational commitment. Thus, resilience should be actively promoted, and a program should be developed to enhance the resilience of ICU nurses.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate nucleotide sequence and extract cytotoxicity of Scolopendrae corpus. The nature and taste of Scolopendrae corpus is hot, Warm and toxic, and the effect of this is dispelling wind, anti-spasmodic action and detoxication so it has been used for C.V.A, facial palsy, sensory disorder at extremities, wounds and arthritis. Methods : Scolopendrae corpus were collected by locality on the market. They were morphologically classified. Their nucleotide sequence was investigated and compared among them. In addition, the water-alcohol extract cytotoxicity of them was studied by MTT-based cytotoxicity assay. Results : It was shown that the each Scolopendrae corpus by locality is almost identical at genetic result and is identified as Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans L. Koch. Nucleotide sequence of Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans L. Koch in this study will help to discriminate other species of Scolopendrae corpus. The water-alcohol extract of Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans L. Koch did not induce cytotoxicity on Hep G2, L929 cell and peritoneal macrophages. Besides, it did not influence nitrite production of peritoneal macrophages. These results can be used as basic data for genetic discrimination with another species of scolopendrae corpus.

Objectives : This is a clinical report about neurogenic bladder patient with lumbar disc hernication. Neurogenic bladder is a dysfunction that results from interference with the normal nerve pathways associated with urination. Hypotonic (flaccid) neurogenic bladder can be caused by ruptured or herniated intervertebral disk. Methods : The patient was treated by Oriental medicine treatment with needle acupuncture, electropuncture, bee venom acua-acupuncture and Daeboonchungeum-gami etc. Voided volume and frequency, visual analogue scale and physical examination was used to estimate the efficacy of these treatment. Results : STZ As using these treatments, voided volume and frequency returns normal condition. Visual analogue scale dips as low as 2. Physical examination showed improvement as compared with the fist visit. And further, these treatment may influence on the recovery of neurogenic bladder patient with lumbar disc herniation. Conclusion : The results suggest that Oriental medicine treatment have an useful effect on neurogenic bladder patient's treatment and recovery.

본 연구의 대상교량은 세로보와 레일의 중심선이 일치하지 않으며 편심거리가 존재한다. 편심이 존재하지 않는 설계-시공이라면 실제 세로보에서는 열차 하중에 의해 휨 응력만이 발생하게 된다. 그러나 실제 설계-시공 상에서는 세로보와 레일의 중심선이 일치하지 않고 이러한 세로보와 레일의 편심에 의해서 침목에 휨이 발생한다. 이에 따라 침목과 연결되어 있는 세로보에는 휨 응력뿐만 아니라 추가로 비틀림 응력도 발생하게 된다. 이러한 비틀림 응력이 세로보 절취부에 미치는 영향과 수직 브레이싱을 설치하였을 경우의 영향에 대해서 분석해 보도록 한다. The centroid of rail doesn't coincide with the centroid of stringer on target truss bridge. If there is no eccentricity on the bridge, bending stress works only. But in the real design and execution, not only bending stress works but also torsional stress does because of it's eccentricity. So this study evaluates how much the torsional stress by eccentricity effects joint members on the bridge. We investigate the possibility to control torsional stress if we model longitudinal bracing between stringers.

Objective : Neuropathic pain can be caused by a partial peripheral nerve injury. This kind of pain is usually accompanied by spontaneous burning pain, allodynia and hyperalgesia. It is not clear that scolopendrid aqua-acupuncture can control neuropathic pain effectively. The purpose of this study is to examine if scolopendrid aqua-acupuncture may be effective to the neuropathic pain (mechanical allodynia, cold allodynia) in a rat model of neuropathic pain. Methods : To produce the model of neuropathic pain, under isoflurane 2.5% anesthesia, tibial nerve and sural nerve was resected. After the neuropathic surgery, the author examined if the animals exhibited the behavioral signs of allodynia. The allodynia was assessed by stimulating the medial malleolus with von Frey filament and acetone. Three weeks after the neuropathic surgery, scolopendrid aqua-acupuncture was injected at Hwando(GB30) one time a day for one week. After that the author examined the withdrawl response of neuropathic rats' legs by von Frey filament and acetone stimulation. And also the author examined c-fos in the midbrain central gray of neuropathic rats and the change of WBC count in the blood of neuropathic rats. Results & Conclusion : 1. The scolopendrid aqua-acupuncture injected at Hwando(GB30) decreased the withdrawl response of mechanical allodynia in SHA-1, SHA-2 and SAH-3 group as compared with control group. 2. The scolopendrid aqua-acupuncture injected at Hwando(GB30) decreased the withdrawl response of chemical allodynia(cold allodynia) in SHA-1, SHA-2 and SAH-3 group as compared with control group. 3. The scolopendrid aqua-acupuncture injected at Hwando(GB30) showed the significant difference between sham group and control group(p=0.01), sham and SHA-3 group(p=0.026), control group and SHA-1 group(p=0.01), control group and SHA-2 group(p=0.024) in the c-fos expression. 4. The scolopendrid aqua-acupuncture injected at Hwando(GB30) showed the significant difference between sham group and SHA-3 group(p=0.010), control group and SHA-3 group(p=0.006) in the WBC count.
