Effect of Diallyl Trisulfide on the Pharmacokinetics of Dipyridamole in Rats

This study was aimed to evaluate the effect of diallyl trisulfide (DATS), a major component derived from garlic used to inhibit platelet thromboxane formation, on the pharmacokinetics of dipyridamole. Pharmacokinetic parameters of dipyridamole were determined in rats following intragastric (80 mg/kg suspension or 40 mg/kg solution) or intravenous (3 mg/kg) administration of dipyridamole with coadministration (20 mg/kg) and long-term pretreatment of DATS (10 or 20 mg/kg/day for 15 consecutive days). In addition, everted gut sac models were used to assess transepithelial transport of dipyridamole and the effect of DATS on the intestinal absorption of dipyridamole. After coadministration and long-term pretreatment of DATS, significantly lower C_max and AUC_(0–240 h were observed for intragastric administration of dipyridamole,whereas little change was noted after intravenous dipyridamole administration. After adding DATS (10 and 50 μg/mL) in the everted gut sacs, absorption of dipyridamole was remarkably decreased in the ileum and jejunum (p < 0.01). In conclusion, DATS reduced the oral exposure of dipyridamole in rats likely by the modification of the dissolution rate and intestinal absorption of dipyridamole, indicating that combined use of DATS or DATS-containing supplements with dipyridamole may require caution as low plasma concentrations of dipyridamole may lead to a subtherapeutic effect of this agent.

The cascaded multilevel converter is widely adopted to medium/high voltage and high power electronic applications due to the small harmonic components of the output voltage and the facilitation of modularity. In this paper, the operation principle of a T-type H-bridge topology is investigated in detail, and a carrier phase shifted pulse width modulation (CPS-PWM) based control method is proposed for this topology. Taking a virtual five-level waveform achieved by a unipolar double frequency CPS-PWM as the output object, PWM signals of the T-type H-bridge can be obtained by reverse derivation according to its switching modes. In addition, a control method for the T-type H-bridge based cascaded multilevel converter is introduced. Then a single-phase T-type H-bridge cascaded multilevel static var generator (SVG) prototype is built, and a repetitive controller based compound current control strategy is designed with the DC-link voltage balancing control scheme analyzed. Finally, simulation and experimental results validate the correctness and feasibility of the proposed modulation method and control strategy for T-type H-bridge based cascaded multilevel converters.
Banknote Image Defect Recognition Method Based on Convolution Neural Network

There are shortcomings in the currently used traditional CCD imaging system which can automatically recognize banknote image defect, such as the need to manually extract the defect characteristics and low accuracy rate of detection results. This paper briefly introduced the advantage of convolution Neural Network (CNN) in image classification and designed a image defect identification method based on convolutional neural network (CNN). The experimental results on data sets show that the identification accuracy rate of this method is 95.6%, which is significantly better than traditional identification method.

Digital signal processor (DSP) and field programmable gate array (FPGA) based concentrated control systems are designed for implementing CPS-SPWM strategies. The self-defined universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter (UART) protocol is used for communication between a master controller and an individual module controller via high speed links. Aimed at undesired pulse competition, this paper analyzes its generation mechanism and presents a new method for eliminating competition pulses with no time delay. Finally, the proposed concentrated controller is applied to a 10kV/10MVar distribution static synchronous compensator (DSTATCOM) industrial prototype. Experimental results show the accuracy and reliability of the concentrated controller, and verify the superiority of the proposed elimination method for competition pulses.

The fungal human pathogen Candida albicans can cause invasive infection with high mortality rates. A key virulence factor is its ability to switch between three morphologies: yeast, pseudohyphae and hyphae. In contrast to the ovalshaped unicellular yeast cells, hyphae are highly elongated, tube-like, and multicellular. A long-standing question is what coordinates all the cellular machines to construct cells with distinct shapes. Hyphal-specific genes (HSGs) are thought to hold the answer. Among the numerous HSGs found, only UME6 and HGC1 are required for hyphal development. UME6 encodes a transcription factor that regulates many HSGs including HGC1. HGC1 encodes a G1 cyclin which partners with the Cdc28 cyclin-dependent kinase. Hgc1- Cdc28 simultaneously phosphorylates and regulates multiple substrates, thus controlling multiple cellular apparatuses for morphogenesis. This review is focused on major progresses made in the past decade on Hgc1’s roles and regulation in C. albicans hyphal development and other traits important for infection.

<P><B>Summary</B></P> <P>We characterized the epigenetic landscape of genes encoding long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) across 6,475 tumors and 455 cancer cell lines. In stark contrast to the CpG island hypermethylation phenotype in cancer, we observed a recurrent hypomethylation of 1,006 lncRNA genes in cancer, including <I>EPIC1</I> (epigenetically-induced lncRNA1). Overexpression of <I>EPIC1</I> is associated with poor prognosis in luminal B breast cancer patients and enhances tumor growth <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo.</I> Mechanistically, <I>EPIC1</I> promotes cell-cycle progression by interacting with MYC through <I>EPIC1</I>'s 129–283 nt region. <I>EPIC1</I> knockdown reduces the occupancy of MYC to its target genes (e.g., <I>CDKN1A</I>, <I>CCNA2</I>, <I>CDC20</I>, and <I>CDC45</I>). Synthesis of Ag/TiO_2 Core/Shell Nanoparticles with Antibacterial Properties

Monodispersed Ag/TiO_2 core/shell nanoparticles were synthesized in solution via colloid-seeded deposition process using Ag nanoparticles as colloid seeds and Ti(SO_4)_2 as Ti-source respectively. Silver nitrate was reduced to Ag nanoparticles with N_2H_4·H_2O in the presence of CTAB as stabilizing agent. The titania sols hydrolyzed by the Ti(SO_4)_2 solution deposited on the surface of Ag nanoparticles to form the Ag/TiO_2 core/shell nanoparticles. Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) showed low amount of Ag ion leaching from the Ag/TiO_2 core/shell nanoparticles. The Ag/TiO_2 core/shell nanoparticles indicated excellent antibacterial effects against Escherichia coli and maintained long-term antibacterial property.
Research on the Confucianist Political Thoughts in the 20th Century

儒家政治思想是中國傳統政治思想的主流, 對于中國社會的政治、經濟、文化等諸方面都産生了極大的影響。本文論述了20世紀百年儒家政治思想的硏究歷程, 以期對未來的儒家政治思想硏究提供一個較爲系統的理論框架。 The present paper discussed the study course of the Confucian political thoughts in one hundred years of the 20th century .Maybe it can provide a systemic theory frame for the future study of the Confucian political thoughts. From 1900 to 2000,Chinese academia’s study on the Confucian political thoughts had gone through four stages as follows in this one hundred years. At the first stage(1900-1919),the newly bourgeois of reform school talked about the politics according to the lection, but the revolutionary school criticized the confucian political thoughts. At the second stage(1919-1949), the dominating social and political ideology is to criticize and denounce the Confucian. At the third stage (1949-1976), Maxism is becoming the guidance thought on the Mainland China. The Confucian political thoughts got more and more criticism and led to the Great Cultural Revolution finally. It suffered entirely denial. However, it had rised in Taiwan, HongKong and even overseas areas. At the last stage(from 1976 to this day), the Confucism is enjoying a flourish renaissance. [Article in Chinese]
