This study was conducted to examine the effects of eggshell membrane hydrolysates (ESMH) on the anti-inflammatory, anti-wrinkle, anti-microbial activity, and moisture-protection for cosmetic use. Whole ESMH (before fractionation), and fraction I (>10 kDa), fraction II (3-10 kDa), and fraction III (<3 kDa) of the hydrolysates were assessed in this experiment. As lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and IFN-${\gamma}$ caused the inflammation on Raw264.7 cell, whole ESMH and fraction I showed to be effective in inhibiting the induction of cell inflammation depending on the concentration, and also showed outstanding effect to suppress the skin inflammation. Fraction I inhibited collagenase and elastase activities to a greater extent than the other fractions, while all fractions had antibiotic effects at concentrations of 10 mg/disc and 20 mg/disc. In addition, it showed the moisture protection effects of skin on the holding amount and losing amount of moisture in upper-inner arm of the human body with a relatively low loss rate in skin, which confirmed that the hydrolyzed fractions of ESM helps to form the superior protective layer of moisture. It was concluded that ESMH fractions with different molecular weights, especially the 10 kDa fraction, have anti-lipopolysaccharide, anti-IFN-${\gamma}$-induced inflammation, anti-collagenase and elastase activities, and thus can be used as a cosmetic agent to protect skin.
Policy Analysis: Performance-Based Funding Policy of the U.S. Olympic Committee

United States Olympic Committee (USOC) is a federally-chartered, non-profit organization that supports the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes through their national governing bodies (NGBs), providing financial support and jointly working to develop customized and impactful athlete support and coaching education programs. However, the USOC must find a way to better aid the athletes in an effective and efficient manner as the USOC is not funded by the federal government of the United States. As such, the USOC allocate financial aid to NGBs based on the potential for success at the international level, underscoring the importance it places on Team USA's medal count. The performance-based funding policy of the USOC was reviewed based on a qualitative content analysis and analyzed from ethical perspectives. Recommendations were followed by the policy analysis.
Sustainable Professional Sports Facilities

The environmental sustainability is an important part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The environmental CSR helps sport organizations to gain competitive advantage and ultimately create additional revenue streams. As such, the green building design became a relatively new trend as part of the environmental CSR. This study reviewed how sustainable building movement has evolved, the considerations and requirements for green buildings, the benefits of sustainable buildings, and the sustainable professional sports facilities in the United States. In particular, benefits of sustainable sports facilities were highlighted to encourage sport organizations to consider sustainable facilities for design and construction.
EU 탄소국경조정제도의 한국 수출 및 GVC 영향 분석

오늘날의 세계는 글로벌가치사슬(GVC)로 촘촘하게 연결된 네트워크 세상이다. 한 나라의 무역조치는 그 나라와 관련된 다른 나라에도 연쇄적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 최근 유럽연합(EU)에서 발표한 탄소국경조정제도(CBAM)에 대한 우리나라 산업계와 정부의 관심이 크다. EU CBAM은 기후변화 완화를 위한 환경 제도이지만 동시에 무역규제이기도 하다. 본 연구는 EU CBAM이 GVC 측면에서 한국 수출에 미칠 영향을 분석하였다. EU가 들여오는 수입재 속 탄소 배출량이 가장 많은 국가들과 이 국가들의 한국 GVC 관계도를 살펴보고 한국이 중간재, 최종재 수출을 통해 어느 나라에 주로 탄소를 수출하고 있는지, 한국이 들여오는 수입재 중 외국 탄소배출량이 많은 국가는 어디인지 등을 분석하였다. 다각도의 분석 결과 중국, 미국, 일본, 인도가 전 세계에서 탄소를 가장 많이 배출하면서 동시에 한국과 GVC 연결이 긴밀하며 EU에 탄소배출 제품을 많이 수출하는 국가로 나타났다. 즉, 이 국가들이 EU CBAM으로 경제적 영향을 받게 되면 한국의 수출산업에도 GVC 파급효과로 인한 부정적 영향이 있을 것으로 추정할 수 있다. 따라서 한국은 EU CBAM의 GVC 파급효과에 대응하기 위한 탄소 저감기술을 개발하여 중간재, 최종재 교역에서의 수출 비교우위를 획득해야 한다. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to measure the implications of the EU’s CBAM for Korea’s GVC exports, since Korea is ranked fifth in GVC participation and is the EU’s major trading partner. Research design, data, and methodology: This paper uses data from the OECD’s “Carbon dioxide emissions embodied in international trade” (TECO2), the IEA-EDGAR CO2, and the OECD’s Trade in Value Added (TiVA). It also uses the total probability formula and Bayes’ theorem to analyze much of the statistical data. Results: The world’s top 10 carbon emitters are China, the U.S.A., Russia, India, Japan, Germany, Canada, Korea, the U.K., and Iran, accounting for 66% of global CO2 emissions between 1990 and 2020. The top 10 CO2 emitters are also ranked highest by their share of GVC participation, with a 22.09% influence on CO2 emissions from GVC trade. China and the U.S.A. affect most of the countries they trade with, including Korea, when it comes to CO2 embodied in intermediate and final GVC goods. Conclusions: China, the U.S.A., Japan, and India are the closest trading partners to Korea under the GVC structure. These four countries, as top CO2 emitters, are highly interconnected with other trading partners, which means damage from the EU CBAM can have ripple effects on their partners, especially Korea. Therefore, Korea needs to develop and apply carbonreducing technology to achieve export competitiveness in response to potential EU CBAM implications.

본 논문에서는 문자인식 과정에서 발생하는 중의성을 해결하기 위한 후처리 방법을 제안한다. 후처리 과정은 크게 세 단계에 의해 이뤄진다. 첫째, 인식기로부터 주어진 후보문자들에 대한 신뢰성 평가와 유사 문자 보완을 통해 후보문자를 선택하고, 둘째, 이들의 조합으로 생긴 문자열에 대한 형태소분석을 통하여 올바른 후보어절을 생성한다. 셋째, 여러 개의 후보어절로 인해 생기는 중의성 해결을 위해 언어정보와 인식기의 특징을 이용하여 한 문장 내에서 가능한 최적의 어절 패스를 찾는다. 이때 이용하는 언어정보는 N-Gram 태깅과 공기패턴의 상호정보 측정치로서 약 2만2천 어절의 Corpus로 자동 추출하였다. 본 후처리 방법을 실제 인식 결과에 실험한 결과 80.46%의 교정률을 보였으며, 제 1순위 인식률은 71.2%에서 95.53%로 향상되었다. This paper proposes a post-processing technique of Korean which can be incorporated in character recognition systems. The proposed post-processing consists of three levels, a candidate character selection (character level), a morphological analysis (word level), and cost evaluation (phrase/sentence level). At the character level, for each character position, the set of candidate characters is modified by selecting only reliable candidate characters, and also by supplementing with similar characters. At the word level, morphological analyzer generates all possible words(eojeols) from the candidate sets. Finally, at the phrase/sentence level, all tho generated words(eojeols) have to be evaluated on the basis of N-Gram tagging and mutual information measure of co-occurrence patterns. Contextual information on N-Grams and co-occurrence patterns is extracted from a corpus of about 22 thousand words. Experimental results show that the post-processing technique can be effectively used for error correction of character recognition systems, yielding the correction rate of 80.46%, and also the improved recognition rate of 95.53% from 71.2%.
