        나혜석의 『구미여행기』와 새로운 글쓰기

        남존여비의 유교이데올로기와 ‘文’의 의식이 여전히 강했던 식민지 시기 조선에서 신여성들은 극심한 편견, 비난 속에서 나혜석은 남성과 동등한 한 사람의 작가로서 혹은 화가로서 자신의 삶의 영역을 구축해갔다. 이 과정에 대한 세밀한 고찰은 한 편으로는 식민지 시기 조선 신여성의 의식의 실체와 식민지 조선이 경험한 근대의 실체를 밝혀가는 것이면서 또 한 편으로는 한 인간이 어떻게 편견과 무지에 맞서 인간의 존엄성을 확보해 가는가를 살펴보는 과정이기도 하다. 이 과정에서 일본 신여성 요사노 아키코(擧謝野晶子)의 파리 체험에 대한 비교 고찰은 필수적이다. 나혜석과 요사노 아키코는 제각각 조선과 일본 신여성 1세대를 대표하는 인물로서, 작가로서 다수 작품을 발표하였고 두 사람 모두 당시 신여성으로서는 드물게 파리에서 체류한 경험이 있다. 이와 같은 공통점 이외 본 연구에서 조선 신여성 나혜석의 의식을 고찰하기 위해 요사노 아키코를 비교 대상으로 설정한 또 하나의 중요한 이유가 있다. 나혜석이 자신의 글에서 논문과 시 창작에 매진했던 요사노 아키코를 자신의 롤 모델로서 언급하고 있기 때문이다. 이와 같은 상황에 근거하여 본 연구에서는 나혜석의 『구미여행기』를 중심으로 나혜석으로 상징되는 조선 신여성의 의식의 제 특징을 고찰하고 있다. During the colonial Joseon period, where the general predominance of men over women was strong due to Confucian ideology and there still existed a strong sense of Mun (文), modern women often experienced extreme prejudice and accusations. Na Hye-sok, however, had built up her own successful career as a writer and a painter who was equal to the men in her fields. A detailed examination of this process reveals on one hand, the realities of the lives that modern Joseon women led during the colonial period, and the reality of the modernity experienced by the general population living in colonial Joseon society. On the other hand, this analysis also reveals the process which an individual goes through in order to gain dignity during the fight against prejudice and accusations. During this process, a comparative study with the Parisian experience of Akiko Yosano, a modern Japanese woman, is essential. Na Hye-sok and Akiko Yosano are both representatives of the first generation of modern women in Joseon and Japan, and have published numerous works as writers. Both of them had rarely stayed in Paris as modern women during that time.Additionally, it is also important to set Akiko Yosano as a comparative subject in order to more critically examine the significant role of Nae Hye-sok during the colonial Joseon time period, as Na Hye-sok refers to Akiko Yosano, who was also actively involved in writing articles and poetry, as her role model. Based on this information, this study examines the characteristics of the general circumstances and significance of Joseon modern women, as symbolized by Na Hye-sok, by focusing specifically of her experience traveling in Europe and America.

        편혜영 소설의 현실성과 비현실성 : 『아오이가든』을 중심으로

        2000년대 대표적 소설가로 꼽히는 편혜영의 첫 번째 소설집 『아오이가든』은 그로테스크한 상상력과 환상적 상황 설정으로 인하여 비현실성을 강화한 알레고리 작품으로 평가되어 왔다. 본고는 그러한 알레고리가 어떠한 서사적 장치에 의해 구성되는지를 살피고자 하였다. 편혜영 소설의 알레고리는 환상의 세계를 전면화하고 그 이면에 현실의 세계를 은닉하는 방식이 아니라, 비현실성과 현실성이 교차로 편집되어 서사를 구성함으로써 알레고리를 산출한다. 그 구체적 양상은 우선 플롯에서 찾을 수 있다. 동일한 성격을 지닌 사건을 첫 장면과 마지막 장면에 배치하여 종결 사건이 다시 첫 사건으로 이어지는 회귀의 양상을 보이고 있다. 이때 각 사건은 현실적이기도 하고 비현실적이기도 하다. 현실적 상황에서 비현실적 사건의 개입으로 사건 연결의 인과성은 깨어진다. 또 비현실적인 상황에서도 현실의 논리는 지속적으로 환기된다. 소설 속 나머지 사건들도 비인과적 배치가 특징적이다. 또한 작품의 담화가 구성되는 방식을 보면, 의학·과학 담화를 제시하거나, 세속의 발언 혹은 논평식 발화를 삽입하거나, 소문과 간접화된 발화 양식을 빈번히 사용하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그 결과 현실과 비현실의 경계가 무너지고 애매성과 모호성이 증폭되어 세계를 구분하는 경계의 무의미함이 드러나게 된다. 이상의 작업을 통해 편혜영 소설은 인간 중심의 사유, 합리성을 내세운 사유, 근대를 지배한 계몽의 사유가 결국 실패했음을 보여준다. 인간 중심의 사유는 나머지 존재에 대한 배제와 소외를 초래하였고, 합리적 사유는 이성의 논리로 설명되지 않는 모든 것을 현실로부터 추방하였던 것이다. 여기서 발생한 경계에 대한 문제제기를, 작가는 현실성과 비현실성의 서사적 짜임을 통해 전달하고자 하였다. Pyun Hye-young s first collection of novels, <Aoi Garden>, considered a representative novelist in the 2000s, has been evaluated as an allegory work that reinforces unreality due to its grotesque imagination and fantastic situation setting. This paper intends to examine what kind of narrative device constitutes such an allegory. Pyun Hye-young s novel produces an allegory by composing a narrative that is edited at the intersection of unreality and reality. The specific aspect can be found first in the plot. By arranging events with the same characteristics in the first and last scenes, the closing event leads back to the first event. In this case, each event is both realistic and unrealistic. Intervention of unreal events in real situations breaks the causality of event connections. In addition, even in unrealistic situations, the logic of reality is continuously evoked. The rest of the events in the novel are also characterized by a non-causal arrangement. Also, looking at the way in which the discourse of the work is structured, it can be confirmed that the presentation of medical and scientific discourse, the insertion of secular remarks or commentary utterances, and the frequent use of rumors and indirect speech styles. As a result, the boundary between reality and unreality is broken, liquidity and ambiguity are amplified, revealing the meaninglessness of the boundary that separates the world. Through the above work, Pyun Hye-young s novel shows that human-centered thinking, rationality-oriented thinking, and enlightenment thinking that dominated the modern era eventually failed. Human-centered thinking led to exclusion and alienation of living things other than humans, and rational thinking expelled everything that could not be explained by the logic of reason from reality. The artist tried to convey the problem raised about the boundary that arose here through ≪Aoi Garden≫.

        나혜석의 구미여행기와 모빌리티 이론의 접목 : 교통과 젠더의 측면에서

        본고는 한국 여성 최초로 1년 8개월 간 서구 국가를 여행했던 나혜석의 구미여행기를 모빌리티 이론과 접목하여, 나혜석 여행기의 텍스트와 그의 풍경화 속 재현공간을 대상으로 다음의 내용을 분석·검토하였다. 첫째, 교통수단과 경계적 감각의 모빌리티로서, 특히 기차와 기선을 통한 서구적 문물 체험과 역과 객실 등 사이공간에서의 경험은 기동 관람 시각을 통해 경관을 묘사하고 있으며, 국경 경유시의 경험은 지역적 차이로 표현하고 있다. 둘째, 경험과 일상을 통한 젠더 모빌리티로서, 나혜석은 구미여행을 통해 도시의 낭만적 연애와 자유로운 여성의 삶을 경험하고 젠더에 대한 자각과 함께 젠더적 모빌리티를 형성하였다. 마지막으로, 모빌리티 경험이 반영된 나혜석의 풍경화를 통해 스페인, 파리 등 재현공간이 주는 의미를 자신의 정체성을 형성하고 변모시키는 동인으로서 해석하였다. This study attempted to analyze and review the followings based on Na Hye-seok’s ‘Western Travel Writing’ and representational space in her landscape paintings by integrating the theory of mobilities into the travel text. She was Korea’s first feminist author who wrote the long travel sketch (1 year and 8 months). First, in terms of the mobility of liminal senses and transportation, experience of western culture through trains and steamers and experience in interspace such as railway stations and train cabins described landscapes through a motorized sightseeing vision while experiences in transiting national border regions were expressed with a regional difference. Second, for gender mobility via daily routine and experiences, Na Hye-seok underwent romantic love and liberal women’s lives in cities and formed mobility in awareness of gender. Lastly, the meaning of representational space such as Spain and Paris was interpreted as a motive to form and change identity through her landscape paintings which reflect mobile experiences.

        As a follow-up study of the study conducted by Jang Hye-Rim(2016), As for dance Satisfaction Testing Instrument, First, results show that questions two questions of validity based on the contents of test are considered inappropriate. Second, validity evidence based on the reality turned out to be appropriate. Third, this study confirmed that validity based on the internal structure has a sufficient condition. Fourth, as for the validity based on the generalization, this study also confirmed through analysis of differential function that there are questions functioning differentially according to the gender and grade

        『방한림전』의 중첩된 갈등구조

        The overlapped conflict appear in Banghanlimjeon. In terms of the protagonist Bang Gwan-ju’s external and internal conflicts, Bang Gwan-ju experiences conflicts with the nanny and Yeong Hye-bing, and internally suffers from gender incongruence and the fear of being outed and mistrust of other people. Bang Gwan-ju lives socially as a man and attempts to alleviate and resolve such conflicts. To the nanny, Bang invokes his authority as the head of the household and forces her to keep his secret. To Yeong Hye-bing, he asks her to keep his secret as his closest friend while emphasizing his position as her husband. Internally, Bang Gwan-ju is sorrowful and melancholy but covers such emotions with confidence in his ability and high self-esteem and attempts to rationalize and justify his action of hiding his gender through circumstantial evidence and shifting the blame on others. Conflicts in Banghanlimjeon are overlapping and multilayered, and Bang Gwan-ju’s efforts to alleviate and resolve such conflicts become the driving force of the narrative. The existence and resolution of such conflicts maintain the tension throughout the work and captivate its readers.

        치차로스의 <시적인 순간> 중 ‘철새’, ‘블루스 왈츠’, ‘나비 래그타임’, ‘서부기차’ 분석 및 교수법적 제안

        치차로스(Christos Tsitsaros, b. 1961)는 미국 일리노이 대학교의 피아노 교수학과 교수이며, 피아노 교육용 작품을 많이 작곡하였다. 본 논문은 국내에 잘 알려지지 않은 그의 작품에 대한 정보를 제공하고 한정된 레퍼토리의 선택지를 넓히는데 기여하고자 그의 교육용 피아노 작품인 <시적인 순간>에 나타난 음악적 특징을 살펴보았으며, 중급 학생들에게 효과적인 교수방법을 제시하였다. <시적인 순간>은 총 8곡으로 구성되어있으며 이 중 ‘철새’, ‘블루스 왈츠’, ‘나비 래그타임’, ‘서부기차’를 살펴보았다. ‘철새’는 편안하고 서정적이며 아르페지오와 당김음 페달 교육에 효과적이다. ‘블루스 왈츠’는 불분명한 조성감으로 몽환적 분위기를 자아내며 리듬적 유연함을 배울 수 있다. ‘나비 래그타임’은 스윙 리듬과 다양한 아티큘레이션의 표현을 공부할 수 있다. ‘서부기차’는 빠르고 긴장감을 유발하는 곡으로 다양한 페달의 사용을 습득할 수 있다. 이 곡들은 길이가 짧고 단순하며, 다양한 음악양식과 재즈적인 요소를 지니고 있어 중급 학생들이 흥미롭게 학습할 수 있다. 본 논문을 통해 더 많은 교육용 레퍼토리가 확대되고 그의 교육용 피아노 작품들에 대한 관심과 연구가 이어지길 기대한다. Christos Tsitsaros(b. 1961) is a Professor of Piano Pedagogy at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, IL in the United States, and has composed many educational piano pieces. On the purpose of providing information on his compositions, which are not well known in Korea, and contributing to expand educational piano repertoire, this article examines the musical features of his < Poetic Moments > and suggests effective teaching methods for intermediate level students. < Poetic Moment > consists of a total of 8 character pieces: ‘Migrating Birds’, ‘Blues Valsette’, ‘Butterfly Rag’, and ‘Westbound Train’ among them were investigated. ‘Migrating Birds’ is easy to listen, lyrical and effective for polishing arpeggio skills and syncopated pedaling. ‘Blues Valsette’ creates a dreamy atmosphere with complex harmonies and students may learn rhythmic flexibility. ‘Butterfly Rag’ employs swing rhythm and diverse articulations. ‘Westbound Train’ has fast running tempo increasing tension and good for learning various pedaling. Each piece is short and simple attracting intermediate level students’ interest by conveying various musical styles and jazz elements. Through this article, I hope that more educational repertoire will be expanded and interest and research on Tsitsaros’ educational piano compositions will continue.

        치매환자 조호자를 위한 교육지지프로그램의 효과성에 관한 비교연구

        Objective:We studied the effect of Hyu-Sig-Gong-Gan and Hye-Ah-Rim on several evaluations and compared the two programs. We then investigated factors associated with the difference between pre- and post-ratings. Methods:Thirty-six patients were randomized to Hyu-Sig-Gong-Gan (n=23) or Hye-Ah-Rim (n=13). We tested for the effect of each program on several evaluations and compared the two programs through Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI), Center for Epidemiologic Studies-Depression Scale, Dementia Attitude Scale (DAS)-intelligence, DAS-comfort and DAS-total. We then investigated whether the difference between pre- and post-rating depends on other factors. Results:We observed significant positive effect of Hyu-Sig-Gong-Gan on DAS-comfort (t=1.843, p=0.039) and significant positive effect of Hye-Ah-Rim on ZBI (t=-2.327, p=0.019), DAS-comfort (t=2.241, p=0.022), and EuroQol-5 Dimensions-Visual Analogue Scale (t=2.537, p=0.013). For comparing the two programs, we found a lack of evidence for the difference in any of the five commonly observed evaluations. In the secondary analysis, we observed a strong trend that the two programs were particularly effective for caregivers with negative pre-ratings. Conclusion:The two programs showed positive effects on the various evaluations, but some evaluations could not reach statistical significance. The programs appear to be particularly helpful for those who are in need before the program participation.

        Consonant Cluster Simplification in Second Language Acquisition

This paper investigates the problems related to the simplification of syllable structure by second language learners: 1) Difference in error types between complex syllable onsets and codas; 2) The sites of the deleted coda consonants; 3) The sites of the epenthetic vowels in the modification of a syllable with a coda cluster, CVCC. These patterns are accounted for within the Optimality Theoretic framework (McCarthy & Prince 1995), which describes grammar as a set of universal, ranked constraints. The coda cluster simplification results from the interaction of universal markedness constraints and faithfulness constraints, especially positional faithfulness constraints (Beckman 1998). It offers insights into interlanguage grammars yielding a unified account of transfer and markedness effects and thus provides evidence for the adequacy of Optimality Theoretic approach.         Language Mixing in the Bilingual Child: A Case Study

This paper is to support the universality of language development through the analysis of language mixing in the bilingual child. In the bilingual development children have two distinct linguistic systems to which they are exposed. With two languages they employ language mixing either when they lack the lexical entry in the appropriate language or when the mixed entry is more salient to the child. When these mixes occur the structural consistency of the utterance is maintained depending on the situation. Their language mixing shows the competence to differentiate two linguistic systems.         Do Subtypes of Focus Really Exist in Spanish?

This article deals with the term focus in Spanish, in particular, two subtypes of focus, called Contrastive Focus and Non-contrastive Focus (cf. Gutiérrez-Bravo, 2005). According to Zubizarreta (1998), in Spanish, the two types of focus most noticeably differ syntactically: While Non-contrastive Focus should appear at the utterance-final position, Contrastive Focus may appear in-situ. Inspired by a handful of studies (e.g. Cabrera-Abreu & García-Lecumberri, 2003; Kim & Avelino, 2003; Toledo, 1989) and motivated by empirical data gathered for the pilot study conducted prior to the current study, I set out to reinvestigate Zubizarreta’s (1998) claim on the distinction between the focus subtypes. The findings of the current study show that the pragmatically defined notion of focus (Lambrecht, 1994) is not further divided into two types in Castilian Spanish at least syntactically. Across the focus scopes, there were little differences in Contrastive Focus and in Non-contrastive focus. (Korea University)
